Windpoint Cottage
There is something magical that happens when you gather with close family and friends at a beachfront cottage. Memories are made along the waterfront with the sandy gradual entry beach. Windpoint Cottage is truly a special place and a convenient one level bungalow style home. It is a charming cottage with a newly renovated kitchen and lots of space to hang out. Laughter is heard. Good food is enjoyed. And all the noise of every day life disappears, if only for a while.
Under new management for 2025 so there are no reviews but previously a highly rated property that is sure to please. ** Minimum Rental Age is 30**. Right next door to another property we manage called Windmill Point Place. Book both together for a wonderful extended family beachfront vacation
The living room is the heart of this well-cared for cottage with its spectacular stone fireplace (not operational) and a cathedral ceiling. The eat in kitchen is wonderful for breakfast while the dining area is a lovely experience as you'll be able to gaze across the lawn and to the water through the walls of windows.
A second family room offers a great place to relax at night with a Smart TV, foosball table and patio doors to the outside. This property works great for two families. It sleeps 8 people in total (6 adults maximum) in the 3 bedrooms. Bedrooms are nice size larger bedrooms.
Bedroom & Bathroom Layout is as follows:
Bathroom – Claw foot tab with shower surround
Bedroom 1 – Queen Bed (Sleeps 2)
Bedroom 2 – Queen Bed (Sleeps 2)
Bedroom 3 – Two sets of bunk beds (Sleeps 4)
There is central air conditioning throughout. NOTE: one of the queen bedrooms and the bunk room does not have a vent for the air conditioning.
The private beach is for the properties along that stretch of beach which is managed by the area association. It is sandy beach with a gradual entry into the water for several meters. Please note that the property is adjacent to the public access road. The public are allowed to use the beach directly in front of the road.
End your evenings with a fire right on the beach. Dig a hole, throw some logs down and you're good to go. Memories....that's what you'll be making at Windpoint Cottage.
This home is best enjoyed by traveling families and we do not make considerations for large group of young adults. There are two exterior security cameras on the property. Once faces the front area of the property and one faces the driveway.
TOTAL Maximum Occupancy is 8 guests with a maximum of 6 adults. Please note this home cannot accommodate more than 8 guests due to Town of Fort Erie rules in the approved rental licence.
Town of Fort Erie Licence No. STR-2020-0126
A license is required to operate a short-term rental in Fort Erie, and the license outlines the maximum number of guests allowed in the property. The limit includes all persons regardless of age. We cannot approve more people than what the property is licensed for.
Note: Beach and water conditions on Lake Erie can vary significantly throughout the year, influenced by changing weather patterns. There is no guarantee that the conditions will be ideal for swimming during your stay.
Other things to note
Upon confirming your booking, you will be emailed a rental agreement for review and signature. Highlights of the agreement include:
- The Town of Fort Erie Bi-Law requires the owner or operator shall maintain a register that contains the name and address of the Renter(s) and the names of any other Person or Persons who occupy the Premises overnight
- We respectfully ask that you treat our home with respect and consider it as your home away from home and remain considerate of the neighbours always.
- Our cottage is in a residential area and local bylaws require quiet between the hours of 11pm to 8am.
- The Renter whose name the reservation is made is responsible for the conduct of all those using or occupying the vacation property and/or its grounds throughout the duration of their stay.
- When you are not in the house and upon final departure, guests must close and lock all windows and doors. In addition, upon final departure, the Renter must ensure that all food and beverages are removed from the rental property including cabinets, refrigerators and freezers. Failure to remove these items may result in additional cleaning fees
- Renters are liable for all damages and/or loss to the rental property caused by them or as a result of their negligence or caused by or as a result of negligence by anyone permitted on the property during their stay.
- Smoking is not permitted inside
- Small, outdoor fires are permitted in the provided fire pit area seasonally (May-October).
- The BBQ is available for your use seasonally (May-October) and runs on propane. Please do not move the BBQ to another location on the property and please always double check to make sure it is turned off after every use.
- Please note that absolutely no other items other than bathroom tissue are to be flushed down the toilet. ANYTHING other than bathroom tissue should be placed in the garbage. Any misuse could result in plumbing issues and service calls or repairs will be charged back to the client.
