OKTOBER 2020: VMI-föräldrarnas VECKA: Njut av FALL i LEXINGTON!

Långtidsbokning kan övervägas. Denna pittoreska, uppdaterade stuga (inom gångavstånd till Lexington) sitter på en bluff ovanför Maury River mot Jordan's Point Park och VMI 's North Post. Chessie Trail, en övergiven järnvägsäng som är konverterad för vandring, länkar städerna Lexington och Buena Vista, och den börjar direkt under vårt hus tvärs över Maury River, som lätt kan ses från vår veranda i senhöst (beroende på när löv faller från träden), vinter och tidig vår. Denna trail ger en underbar, naturskön vandring för alla åldersgrupper och nivåer av kondition. Trots att stugan är mycket privat och avskild, njuter VMI, Washington och Lee University, gourmetmatställen och unika shoppingupplevelser på kort gångavstånd. Efter en hektisk dag på Virginia Horse Center kan man återvända (2. 4 miles) till verandan i vår stuga för en sval eller varm (beroende på säsong) dryck, avkoppling och reflektion över den fantastiska skönheten som erbjuds av denna pittoreska samhället inbäddat i Blue Ridge Mountains. Lovely cottage conveniently located

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely Lexington cottage. It is very clean and comfortable and conveniently located to town. The screened porch with a view of the river is wonderful! We hope to return.

Lexington Retreat

The house was perfect for our VMI Graduation. It is beautifully surrounded by trees where we were able to enjoy coffee on the screened in porch. Well stocked, comfy beds, and beautiful area

VMI Graduation

Perfect house and home base for our family as we celebrated our son's graduation. So comfortable, relaxing and close to everything. Favorite things- the comfortable beds, the screened in porch, secluded outdoor area, and plenty of parking for family and friends.

Great getaway

Overall impression of the property was cute, comfortable, clean, and super close to everything. It had everything we needed. We were initially a little nervous as we drove up the driveway because it was steep and bumpy and the immediate house on the driveway was a vacant home. Once we turned the bend and saw the actual home, everything was great.

Can't wait to stay here again next year

The place is actually much cuter than the pictures. So well supplied and taken care of. Loved the screened in porch. Never sat in any other room, just the porch. Had three clients over for pizza on the porch and they want to stay with us next year. Plan to book as soon as I know the dates for 2021. Thank you.

Great hosts and great property!

Katherine was a great host and described the property perfectly. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and Katherine was extremely responsive to all questions and concerns. My family had a wonderful vacation in Lexington...and a great escape from the city. Much needed fresh air and outdoor time during the pandemic! The only surprise we had was the noise from the road. We didn't expect that but it did not ruin the feeling of seclusion and peaceful relaxation.

Great location in Lexington

My friends and I stayed here recently while in town for our college reunion. The location can’t be beat- easy access to downtown Lexington, W&L, VMI, the Chessie Trail, etc. We will be back!

Horse competition weekend

The house was as described. Super clean with all the amenities one would need. We were really only at the house to sleep which was a shame as in nice weather there is more to enjoy. Maybe next time. The only thing I would say to add to the experience is that there needs to be at least four kitchen chairs around the table and there were only two. Not enough seating.

We loved the screened in porch.

The location is close to town but you feel like you in a secluded home in the country. The house was clean and well taken care of. We very much enjoyed our stay. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch talking and playing cards. There was a ground hog we named “Phil” that came every afternoon and deer as well as squirrels and birds.

Relaxing and very well equipped

This cottage is perfect! The location is very close to VMI and W and L and yet is surrounded by trees and a lovely lawn. The kitchen is very well equipped and new. The beds are comfortable. All in all it is perfect for an enjoyable stay. We hope to be back!

Visit with our grandson

We found the cottage to be very clean in a quiet setting. It was a rainy weekend for our stay but that added to the quiet. We found it to have plenty of room and loved the screened in porch and enjoyed breakfast there. Only negative was a musty smell which may have been because of the dampness of the rain. All in all we look forward to finding another reason to stay.
