About this space
Make Good Choices is a family-friendly location in beautiful Waupaca County, Wisconsin. This log cabin is on peaceful Stratton Lake, which has excellent fishing and is a full recreation lake. The home provides multiple options to gather or seek quiet time. The screened porch is perfect for a game night or a morning cup of coffee as the lake wakes up. This property has dedicated lake-front water access,private dock, 2 kayaks, 2 bikes, and a paddleboat. Make a great vacation your next good choice!
The space
Our cottage is a beautiful log home that spans three floors. The main floor boasts a king-sized bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, and living area. It also has an attached screened porch on the lakeside and an additional sun porch to the west. The loft area is a welcoming large living space that is perfect for family games or television viewing. It can also serve as an additional bedroom with the queen air mattress provided. The lower level has another living area with tv, king-sized bedroom with an attached bath, and an additional sleeping area with two bunk beds and a single futon. All sleeping areas on the lower level have stunning views of the lake. The cottage is equipped with wi-fi throughout the home.
Stratton Lake is a gorgeous full recreational lake located in Waupaca County. The public landing is situated off W Stratton Road as you enter from Highway 22. If you plan to bring your boat or pontoon, there is a large dock where you can tie up your watercraft. There is also a flat area near the water where you can store kayaks or other water toys on our property. We have about 100 feet of shoreline for your enjoyment. It is important to note that wake hours are posted and MUST BE FOLLOWED.

Monday & Friday: 10:00 to 4:00
Tuesday through Thursday: 10:00 to 7:00
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 to 2:30
All Holidays: 10:00 to 2:30
Guest access
Guests will have exclusive use of the log home, front and back yards, and dock throughout their stay. The garage is reserved for owner storage and is unavailable to guests now.

Beautiful, extremely clean cabin, peaceful clear lake, friendly neighbors and very responsive host. Anytime we had a question or issue host was on it right away. Multigenerational family trip & all had a great time building sweet memories!

This property delivers! Comfortable, clean, full of everything you need and everything you didn’t know you needed.There is plenty of space to gather together and enough space to have a moment to yourself. Beds are comfortable, air conditioning effective, good water pressure and drinking water. The whole place feels private. The lake is beautiful and calm.

It was a beautiful cabin loved the woodwork. It was very clean and decorated so pretty. The layout was nice beautiful sunroom, beautiful deck. The king size beds were awesome enough room for our family of six. The lake was nice, clean and very quiet during the week. We had a wonderful stay.

A beautiful place overlooking Stratton Lake which was so clear! We fished off the dock and saw some amazing fish reeled in as we enjoyed our dinner on deck. We made a GREAT choice coming here!

This is a great cabin. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and it was very comfortable. This is a real cabin and not a "house" so it had the feel that we were looking for on our vacation. It was very well stocked with everything that we needed.Communication with Lori, the owner, was quick and seamless. The lake is very good for kids fishing, and the kayaks and pedal boat were fun. We could enjoy all the amenities surrounding the "chain" without the hassle of feeling overcrowded.

We loved the separation of space. One of our group fell ill but we were able to keep everyone else healthy and happy with some judicious use of masks and thanks to the layout and the homey outdoor spaces. The screened in porch is the best spot for dining, reading, visiting, or just gazing at the peaceful lake. A wonderful visit, even with the blips.

Very nice location with beautiful lake. Fireplace, downstairs toilet, and TV did not work. Hostess fixed the TV and thermostat. It would be nice to have instructions for how to operate the smart thermostat, because we needed heat for most of our stay.

Wisconsin weather is unpredictable- one week 80 and the next 50. Unfortunately, our guests hit the cold spell. We have a NEST thermostat that they needed help operating. The first morning of their stay we went to the cottage and demonstrated how to adjust the thermostat. During that trip, we replaced the batteries in the tv remote with batteries from a kitchen drawer and heard about a non functioning toilet that had been resolved before our arrival. We addressed their concerns. This was the first renter to want to use the fireplace. We will add directions to our guidebook. The guests left the cottage very clean and were kind when we interacted. Wish we could have influenced Wisconsin fall weather to improve their stay!
