Overall it was a nice stay in a beautiful house and location, but there were a number of problems with the cottage when we first arrived. One toilet would not flush, we couldn’t access the WiFi, and there wasn’t a Pack n’ Play in the cottage when we first got there (as promised). After a lot of communication back and forth (and intervention by VRBO), those problems were resolved. It seemed that this property was possibly new to VRBO and lacked some of the amenities that are common to other VRBOs we’ve stayed in. For example—there were NO closets, hangers, or dressers for us to use for our clothing. (We were heading to a family wedding so hangers and a closet would have been very helpful). The closets in the house were all filled with the owners’ things and thus not usable. The switches were not well marked to let us know what turned on what fixtures, and the fan in one of the bathrooms didn’t work. However, the beds were nice and comfortable, we enjoyed the hot tub, and there were plenty of toys/puzzles/outdoor space to play with. We also got to see a herd of deer in the backyard, which thrilled the toddler in the group.
