This was a great place to stay. The hosts were especially nice and accommodating. The stay was in a very scenic location and within walking distance to town . It was a great location to visit Blaze. Great bike rides close by and check out the scenic Croton Dam.

Lovely cottage stay! It was cozy and quite comfortable. Host was easy to communicate with, and we arrived with snacks and a bottle of champagne-love that! It’s a perfect spot to enjoy the fall season- close to Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Nyack, and Ossining! We ended the stay by finding deer outside our window! We truly hated to leave!

Such a lovely setting. The neighborhood was surrounded by beautiful older stone homes that we found out had an earlier history. Made every practical use of the space and loved that there was 2 bathrooms for everyone to get ready. Wished we have made more time to explore the dock and river.

Lovely two weeks in the carriage house on the Croton River. Hosts Patrick and Kathryn were attentive and helpful, the area was full of fun adventures for my husband, a cyclist, and me (jogger and kayaker). Swimming in the Croton from the dock was so great, especially on warm days. Kayaking in the Croton was peaceful and full of fun water birds.

Apartment was eclectic and charming. Host was ready to help me in the morning when I couldn’t figure out the coffee pot. So kind of him. Some areas of apartment were neglected, the stairs were dirty and spider webs in the downstairs bathroom. Upstairs bathroom floor was not cleaned properly. The last day of my stay I had to use the air conditioner. The big loud unit spoiled the solitude of the apartment.

a strange review after no live comments other than wondering how the coffee maker worked. the apartment was cleaned before arrival and afterwards. not much to be done about AC noise but we'll keep that in mind when it's time to replace the existing unit.

Carriage House

We loved our stay at the Carriage House. Patrick and Kathryn were wonderful hosts. They provided information in a timely manner, and were quick to respond to any questions. Our accommodations were clean, comfortable and well appointed, and Patrick and Kathryn included truly thoughtful touches. The location was perfect for exploring Croton-on-Hudson and the Hudson Valley. We'd love to come back!

Easy check in and check out! Has all the bare minimums and a nicely upgraded bathroom. Didn’t feel super clean (the bathroom) when we got there but kitchen was clean and they kindly stocked a few groceries. Could not get the water hot for a shower which was bummer. Nice enough depending on what you are looking for! We had some sensory needs and so this ended up not being the best fit but the location was great. Thanks for having us.

Our stay was very pleasant! No real complaints. Just a quick heads up for anyone this might matter to, when you look out the window the wilderness is literally right there, and so we want to mention that we did encounter some spiders and one house centipede during our stay. To be clear, the place was NOT dirty at all though. So, we just coexisted for the duration of our two day stay. Beyond that, it was comfortable, cozy, and gave us just the dose of nature that we needed. The check in process was simple (as was the check out). Would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful carriage house!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway!

Patrick and Katherine are excellent hosts with an incredible property in an amazing location. We had such an incredible time. The carriage house is so comfortable and welcoming. I absolutely loved just sitting on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view, birds, and my coffee. This was my first time using Vrbo, (glad to have found an alternative to another site I no longer support). Wow, I have been missing out!! The stocked fridge was such a lovely surprise. Everything was just fantastic. Our hosts did a great job. Thank you again for everything. I had such a wonderful birthday weekend in your beautiful place!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the carriage house. Just love the setting, the tranquility, and the proximity to all that we wanted to do...our grandson's high school graduation, my 60th high school reunion, and visits with family and friends. I had not had a swim in the Croton River for many years; a dip in the river brought back childhood memories. Even enjoyed a day in NY including a Broadway show, "Hadestown," and dinner at Bobby Van's Grill. We appreciated Patrick's prompt response to any questions we had and we were grateful that he brought in an extra air conditioner as well as an evaporative air cooler (swamp cooler)...outside temperatures were in the 90's all week. He is a great host. We would stay at the carriage house again.

Stunning, Relaxing, and Unforgettable

I hesitate to sound too over the top in my praise of the Carriage House in Croton, but it’s difficult not to. The space is so comfortable, cozy, and filled with beautiful Mexican art pieces every where you look. Nothing has been forgotten by the hosts, who are charming and gracious, while allowing guests absolute privacy.The Carriage House is surrounded by natural beauty everywhere you look. From the Croton River below, to the wild turkeys in the morning and evening, and the omnipresent sound of numerous song birds in the trees.It’s a spectacular place to take photos, explore, or simply relax in the peaceful, stunning surroundings.All the furnishings have been selected with care for the comfort, pleasure and convenience of guests. A well supplied, full-kitchen is a bonus, as is the extra half-bath and living area downstairs.I would have stayed indefinitely, if I could have - I may even like it more than my own home! :) Highly recommended, without any caveats. If you have the opportunity to stay in the Croton Carriage House - take it!

The host was excellent with his communication. He got back to me in a reasonable amount of time and added extra touches like having food available for breakfast and wine and cheese in the refrigerator. Beautiful scenery to look at!
