We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the clean, comfortable, home away from home in the beautiful Ruidoso NM mountains! We sat on the deck enjoying the wildlife, and were very happy with the convenient location. It was perfect for our little group and for our small dog!

The cabin was exactly as listed. It was such a pleasant stay. Everything you might need is there. The back deck was our go to for relaxing and watching the deer and elk come right up to the back lawn was awesome. I have been to Ruidoso 6 times in 7 years and Doc’s place was by far the best place for the money. I will definitely stay again and will recommend it to others. The only thing I might suggest is to put a tv in the other two bedrooms, but that won’t deter me from staying here again.

Doc’s cabin definitely did NOT disappoint. The cabin was exceptionally clean, open concept, and the kitchen well-stocked. I would suggest providing ice trays since an ice maker is not an included amenity. We have never stayed anywhere that one or the other or even both were not included, so a drive back into town to purchase ice had to be the first thing on our agenda when we discovered we did not have access to ice. BUT anything else one might need was probably in the well-stocked kitchen utensils and/or appliances. Having a desk in a separate workspace is a plus for those who might need to work a bit throughout the day. Although it is in a neighborhood and not as secluded as we normally prefer, it is higher up than the major portion of the neighborhood making it enjoyable to sit outdoors and enjoy the scenery and take long, challenging walks on the roadway without having to worry about traffic. Wildlife was abundant during our stay. Elk and mule deer were in both the side and back yards throughout each day, and we could listen to the bulls bugle nearby in the early mornings and evenings. The abundance and variety of birds was a pleasant surprise! Dog-friendly was an absolute necessity for us, and the layout of the living area gave our little girl plenty of room to roam and a sliding glass door through which she could entertain herself watching the animals and birds in the back yard. Doc’s Place was definitely a good choice for a trip to Ruidoso!

Family

Water from tap is really good. Cabin quite nice. Area is great. Love having herd of elk visit each morning. Everything we needed was easy to find. Extra touch providing some same size toiletries in case we forgot anything was nice. Only drawback two in our party very allergic to cats and had to take medication due to recent presence of a cat in cabin. Found a cat toy between the sheets in one bed, so washed all the bedding and symptoms improved. Otherwise it is a dry very nice cabin.

The home was perfect for what we needed. Everything was ready for us upon arrival. There were a few issues that we found and they took care of them immediately. It is definitely family friendly and the gazebo is a wonderful outdoor space to sit outside and relax.
