Wonderful stay

Overholser Lodge Stay

The lodge was fantastic and beyond 5 stars clean. Susie was always ready to respond to questions that came up. Great location, so much to do at the lodge itself and surrounding area.

Perfect for a family reunion

Two grandparents five adult children with spouses and 11 grandchildren enjoyed the property. Every amenity was excellent and everyone enjoyed each of the 7 days.

Three generation family celebration. The lodge is spacious and accomodated all age groups. We commented that after three days we hadn't seen anyone on their cell phones or ipads. Wish we hadn't over thought what we might need to bring other than clothes. The lodge had everything that we might have needed

Great place for a large group

This property was great for our large group. We had a mix of adults and kids. There was plenty of room for us to separate and come together. Communication with Susie was awesome. We would love to go back.

Perfect for Writing Retreat

We gathered for a writing retreat and found this space to be perfect for sleeping 19. The theatre, tower, deck, and multiple living room areas were excellent for gathering. We were astounded by the natural beauty and architectural details. It felt elegant, yet relaxing. The kitchen space was perfect for prepping large meals. The grill, fire pit, and hot tub were wonderful additions. Plus, watching the sun set from the dock was perfect.

Making memories

This home is amazing. The amenities are over the top. Lots of space to gather as a group or find a quiet spot to enjoy the view of the lake. Susie & Del thought of everything to make your stay memorable and are so easy to work with. On a scale of 1-5, we give them a 10!

This is a beautiful home with fantastic waterfront on a clear, deep and quiet lake. We love to swim and the swim area at the end of the dock is nice hard sand, about 4 feet deep, with no weeds and crystal clear water. You do need to cross a band of rocks in the shallow water to get there. Most of us wore water shoes to cross over and then took them off and put them on the dock while swimming. It's also a pretty steep trail down to the water - not for anyone with mobility issues, but nicely done with flat stone steps much of the way. The lake view is really beautiful from the house and decks.We also enjoyed taking the kayaks out for paddles around Horseshoe Island, watching movies in the movie theater, playing video games on the arcade cabinet, making smores in the fire pit, playing outdoor ping pong, and playing board and card games both inside the lodge and outside on the extensive patios and decks. The kitchen has anything you could possibly need and the rooms and beds were comfortable. The bunk room beds are on the short side but a really fun room for kids. Nearest grocery is only 15 minutes away and definitely a full-service, big store even though the Longville is pretty small. Owner was responsive to questions and helped us. This is definitely a personal home rather than a commercial investment property so expect meticulous instructions and plan to take extra care of it. It's really lovely.

Memories 2024

Family vacation 2023

This was one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed. With all the various ages of our family there was something for everyone to do. Especially enjoyed the pool table. Played that a lot. Quite a trek from the lodge to the dock but was doable. Plus side of that was the good exercise. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

The best of the best.

Susie and del are incredible hosts. This is their treasured family cabin and it shows. It is huge and easily accommodated a large group. Stairs are steep down to the water (which can be windy and choppy), but I personally love the built in exercise of going cabin to dock. Also, the height of the cabin off the water keeps the bugs at bay so evenings at the hot tub or bonfire are less pesky. This is an incredible place and I plan to come back over and over. Susie is very responsive and helpful on even the smallest of asks.

Our family had a truly incredible and unforgettable stay at the beautiful Overholser Lodge! Breath taking views of the lake and sunset throughout the home. Spacious, clean and functional; it feels like every inch of the home was thoughtfully executed when creating that space. Large windows throughout the home invite a warm relaxing glow from morning until night; and amazing views of the night from the decks, fire pit, dock and hot tub- revealing more stars than we have ever seen! Literally something there for every age- swimming, kayaks, games, pool, pong, video games, books, movie theater, plenty of sitting areas for playing cards and socializing or sitting in the most comfortable recliners and reading. Beautiful roomy bedrooms and bathrooms that were more like spas. The kitchen was gorgeous and fully stocked- everything you’d need to cook, bake, BBQ- you name it! (Which when your traveling is huge and SO appreciated! Generous amount of blankets, towels, linens, soap/toiletries, pillows. Located on the lake with other homes, but the beautiful landscaping and ample trees surrounding the property give a completely private feel. Also within 15min from town with cute shops, grocery and activities. I feel like every day we were there I found something new to be in awe about in this home. Hosts were also very responsive, personable, helpful and kind. Recommended fun unique things to do and available for questions. All around perfect. Thank you so much for everything!!
