In the summer months, Emerald Mountain is a must-visit among mountain biking enthusiasts looking to check out thrilling trails that offer the reward of great views too. The hiking trails are equally appealing. Adventurers who are looking for a fairly straightforward path to the summit will want to begin their journey on Blackmere Trail which is a closed service road and relatively direct to the top. If youâre hiking this route in the heart of summer, heading out early is a good idea if you want the trail to yourself and to avoid contending with midday heat.
Yampa Core Trail-Perhaps one of the most iconic routes through Steamboat Springs, this trails begins in central Steamboat and follows the river. Adventurers will enjoy a smooth and well-maintained paved pathway throughout with a little over 7.5 miles made to explore. The trail conveniently connects a variety of Steamboat Springs landmarks from charming wood bridges to the Yampa River Botanic Park. This makes it simple to customize your time on the trail to meet your needs and include some of those must-see stops along the way as well.
