I knocked out the first three pretty quickly. Jolene was able to volunteer her time with the boys' schools and be there for them as they grew into men. She got her dream Jeep in 2020. And on 2/22/2022, I finally delivered the last one-the lake house.
What we didnât know at the time was that this house just so happened to be right next door to the one where she spent her favorite summers growing up. Total accident⊠but absolutely meant to be.
We named it The Fifth Promise because thatâs exactly what it is: the final item on a list of commitments I made to the love of my life. Itâs our little slice of paradise, and weâve been improving it ever since-because fulfilling the promise wasnât the end... it was the beginning of building something we could share. đ
