VÄr resa började över 60 Är nÀr Andrea Peters, mamma och mormor köpte Waimanalo Beach Cottages, tidigare kÀnt som Waimanalo Motel av en familj som hanterade sockerbruket Waimanalo. Vid denna tid skulle mÄnga militÀra kontaktannonser semestra pÄ stugorna med vÀnner och slÀktingar.

NÀr de köpt Waimanalo Beach Cottages ockuperades av invÄnarna för lÄngtidsuthyrning. Under de senaste 15 Ären har Waimanalo Beach Cottages förvandlats frÄn bostadsuthyrning till semesterbostÀder, vilket gör att vÄra mÄnga besökare kan njuta av vÄr del av historien och uppleva gamla Hawaii som bÀst. För nÀrvarande har vi en gammal tid bosatt som fortsÀtter att bo pÄ vÄr egendom under de senaste 25 Ären.

Vacationing in Hawaii

First time visiting Hawaii. My daughter and now my son-in-law wanted to get married in Hawaii. My son-in-law's family is from California and ours is from Kansas. We could have not picked a better place to bring together our 2 families for a destination wedding. Waimanalo Beach Cottages are the best. Tommy De Harne, our host of the cottages was the best. The hospitality that Tommy showed our family was above and beyond. If we needed something, or needed help with the local area, Tommy was there. So if you are every deciding to make a trip to Hawaii, and what a wonderful place to stay, that can hold a lot of family and friends in one area. This place is for you. Thank you again to Tommy and his family and staff for allowing us to spend our wonderful week at the Waimanalo Beach Cottages.

Breathtaking

The location is great with nicely kept grounds. Less than a minute walk to the breathtaking beaches of waimanalo that has a long stretch of white sand. It a must go to beach. We strayed in the upstairs cottages which had a wrap around lanai that overlooked the ocean in the day and the moon shining on the ocean in the evening. The neighborhood is quite and has some stores nearby too. There is also a nice hike about a 5 minute drive away with an amazing view. I would definitely recommend staying here. My family and I want to come back next year

Best beach in the World!

We had my sons wedding and reception on property and it was everything we wanted for our son's wedding day. We rented all the cottages and had so much fun. My words can't express how happy and comfortable we were and the helpfullness of the owner Tommy was great who by the way is an amazing photographer! His wife Carolyn with Amazing Hawaii Weddings helped us plan a perfect wedding. The beach is really the best we have seen and we are world travelers. We love Waimanalo Beach Cottages it is away from the noise of Waikiki and we felt this really was what Hawaii was like in the old days. Low key, relaxing and simply beautiful! Mahalo June and Manaul

Beautiful location on an uncrowded beach

We had a fabulous time staying here. There are many units to choose from and they can accommodate small groups of 6 (which we had) up to large groups over 20. Waimanalo is very quiet and away from hustle and bustle of Honolulu, which is over run with tourists. Wainmanalo (and Kailua) are beautiful beaches in a peaceful setting. Great for families! The owners were amazing, very helpful with anything we needed and knowledgable of the area. There are a couple of restaurants at the end of the street and a small grocery store in town. Kailua is about 10 min away and has a Target, Whole Foods, large grocery and many restaurants.

Great location for a beach wedding and reception all in one area

I had my fantastic beach wedding on beautiful Waimanalo Beach! My day was perfect and magical. I am so happy to have found Waimanalo Beach Cottages & Weddings. It was a one stop shop they had every thing I needed for a perfect wedding day and reception. The wedding staff was great and very professional. The cottages were perfect for me and my family and friends! We had many BBQ's and lots of beach time. We could see and hear the waves from our cottages and the best sunrises! Oh there are banana trees with fresh banana ready to eat. The owner was great and responded to all our questions. We had a great time and we will return on our 1 year wedding anniversary. Good, but could be better

Great location, probably best beach on island. Very quiet and no one on the beach. Restaurants, attractions all close by. Cottages look real nice and on first glance very clean. However, for the cleaning fee charged, we did expect it to be cleaner (cutlery drawers dusty, ants) and the outside seating area could have been cleaner (chairs were dusty, concrete littered with debris). Having said that, very peaceful, great location, and steps from the best beach. We had a great time, but for the cost/night + cleaning fee we did expect a little more. (We also stayed at another location for a few $ more/night and there was a huge difference)

Ran the Honolulu Marathon

My 3 friends stayed at the cottages for only 3 nights really wished we could have stayed longer but had to get back to work. We were greeted by Tommy & Carolyn they were so helpful and super friendly. The beach in front of the cottages was soooo beautiful! We could hear the ocean at night. The grounds were green and very well manicured. I love the banana trees and we got to eat fresh bananas every day! We will be back soon! Cora, JoeCor Jamie, Lilly

Peaceful

The cottage are so peaceful with the sounds of the crashing waves. We saw the most amazing sunsets and took long morning walks on the beach without a sole in site. Our perfect piece of Haven!

Best Place on Oahu to stay!!

My wife and I make a few trips a year to Oahu to visit family and Waimanalo Beach Cottages is an amazing place to stay. Close to stores and easy drive to any side of the island and only 40 minutes from the airport! Highly recommend this location for your stay on Oahu. Mahalo!

Charming, relaxing retreat in paradise!

Quiet, rustic, charming, relaxing. This hidden gem is on the rural east shores of Oahu. Our group had 6 of the 9 cottages, each with its own unique style and theme. It turned out that this was a good "base" for our party, within steps of the miles-long coast of an open, white sandy beach and minutes from the nightlife of downtown and Waikiki. The manager on property was a nice surprise as most vacation rentals are without staff; he was knowledgeable & helpful, always available to assist with a question or request. When we arrived, he was there to greet us & give us a short tour of the property and to our cottages. He also told us of the few good eateries within walking distance. Ono Steaks, 1 minute walk, the BEST Ahi plate I’ve ever had & the “Hawaiian Style CafĂ©â€s “Gorgonzola” breakfast sandwich & fresh brewed Kona coffee was a great start to our mornings. Our second day we met the owner Tommy, who like the manager, made it a point to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. A “local” and surfer, he turned us on to Roy’s restaurant and set us up with a deep sea fishing charter which allowed us to keep a large portion of our catch. The cottages also has a large patio area with tables and bbq for our nightly "luaus" & our fellow guests from Canada and Germany were always a welcome addition to our evening social hours. The grounds are secure with a keypad, locked gate and fence, and the grounds well lit in the evenings. The property is in the middle of a neighborhood so this is not a location for wild, crazy parties (although they did assist in arranging a "party bus" for our group one night to take us to Waikiki) The description and photos on VRBO and their website are accurate and fair. This is not a high-end luxury property, but we enjoyed the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere of our cottage & the grounds. The cottages themselves are clean and well maintained, being near the ocean, there was some rust around a couple of the appliances, but that’s to be expected. Lastly, Waimanalo Beach. This is what we came to Hawaii for! We practically had the entire beach to ourselves! In fact, the only time we found any amount of people was on the weekends. Most mornings, we took a walk along the shores and were lucky if we passed one or two people. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Waimanalo Beach Cottages & highly recommend them for any traveler looking for a relaxing vacation at a reasonable cost.

Best rental ever

Of all the rentals we've stayed at this was by far the best. It was clean, homey, close to the beach and the owners were the best. Tommy took care of anything we needed and it was great to have Joe on site in case of a question. Joe was at the grill twice and shared some of the great fare with us. We didn't meet Andrea who we dealt with over the phone but I enjoyed our phone chats. When we arrived early they let us check in after they did a touch up on the cleaning since it had not been rented the previous few days. Thanks for a really great vacation home.

Our History and Love for our Cottages

Historical Waimanalo Beach Cottages is a beautiful country getaway. Steps from beautiful Waimanalo Beach where you see the most amazing sunrise.
Our business is a Hawaii State Licensed vacation rental. We offer nine spacious cottages that comfortably accommodate up to 24 guests. We have full-size kitchens that include the comforts of home for your family and friends. Our local grocery stores nearby make your stay relaxed and affordable.

Our journey began over 60 years when Andrea Peters, mother, and grandmother purchased Waimanalo Beach Cottages, formerly known as Waimanalo Motel by a family who managed the Waimanalo sugar mill. At this time many military personals would vacation at the cottages with friends and relatives.

Once purchased Waimanalo Beach Cottages were occupied by residents for long-term rentals. Within the last 15 years, Waimanalo Beach Cottages has transformed from residential rentals to vacation rentals, allowing our many visitors to enjoy our part of history and experience old Hawaii at its best. Currently, we have an old time resident that continues to live on our property for the past 20 years.
