The Retreat är ett vackert lyxhem beläget i ett avskilt och fridfullt gated community på nordvästra sidan av San Antonio. Huset ligger inbäddat bland 300 år gamla ekar på nästan ett tunnland mark. Den enda familjen hem är en en våning nivå och har 4 sovrum och 3 fulla bad. Det inkluderar ett lugnt läs- / musikområde, två matplatser samt en stor bardisk i ett stort gourmetkök. Vardagsrummet är en öppen planlösning där stor familj och vänner kan samlas. Det nyligen ombyggda stora utomhusdäcket har utsikt över ett utomhuskök med grill och öppen spis. Huset har en stor trädgård med en koi-fontän och pergola att sitta och njuta av naturen. Tillflyktsorten är smakfullt inredda och fullt utrustade med sängkläder, rengöringsmedel för handdukar och tvättmöjligheter som du kan behöva under din vistelse. Huset har en kung, tre drottning och en full säng / futon i sina sovrum. Det finns ytterligare två uppblåsbara drottningssängar för din användning vid behov. De tre badrummen är utrustade med dusch och badkar och fullt utrustade med allt det nödvändiga. Det finns ytterligare kuddar och filtar för att hålla din och din familj på en behaglig nivå.
Wi-Fi finns i huset och två I-kuddar levereras för din användning när du bor på The Retreat. Många shoppingfaciliteter och restauranger är i närheten och enkla motorvägsintressen ligger nära huset för din bekvämlighet.

Nice and roomy home with a great yard for kids.

Great Family Weekend!

Property was great and met the needs for all of our families that stayed. Plenty of space inside and outside for all to enjoy. We were very pleased with the home. Also, it was indeed very close to Sea World, and the drive to other parts of San Antonio (ie-Riverwalk, missions, Doseum, etc.) were not bad at all. Thanks for a great few days!

We had a wonderful time with our group of 12 at this beautiful property!

The house was beautiful and well kept! Everything inside was clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The backyard, fireplace, grill was an awesome hangout for our big group! A few things could use updating like the iron, coffee maker but other than that everything was perfect! In a nice neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores within 5-10 minutes. In a great location to easily get to Six Flags, Riverwalk, etc. Would definitely recommend, as well as stay again.

Quiet little getaway

We had a great time staying at the retreat. The house is located in a beautiful gated neighborhood that is super quiet. The house is located far enough away from the city to avoid the noise and traffic but easily accessible to all the great San Antonio attractions. Home is adequately stocked with all the things we needed and is very comfortable. Home owner was responsive to any questions that I had. Would definitely recommend to friends!

The Retreat

This rental was better than expected! Pictures did not do it justice! 6 adults and 5 children stayed without any problems. Sea World was less than 15min away. Lots of restaurants close to the house. Felt safe and secure the whole stay being in a gated community. Neighbors were friendly. Thank you so much!! We would definitely stay here again!

"The Retreat" in San Antonio, Texas

Our family stayed at "The Retreat" during the San Antonio leg of our Texas vacation. The house was perfectly located just a short drive to Sea World which was the main attraction for us. The house met all our needs 9 of us, and working with the owner was an absolute pleasure. When we emailed him a question, we had a response back in 30 minutes or less, he was very responsive. The pictures on the Vrbo website are exactly what you can expect when you arrive. We would definitely rent this house again, no regrets or issues during our stay.

San Antonio Family Reunion

The house was a perfect size for a multi-family reunion. The kitchen was well stocked with needed equipment. Our only complaint was the state of the backyard and deck area. The yard had not been mowed, the patio furniture was dirty and had the stuffing coming out, and the deck had damaged boards in quite a few spots. With those repaired, it would be a wonderful yard to enjoy.

Great house and great location.

My family and I stayed here for a long weekend in April. The house is very well-kept and is in a beautiful neighborhood. The split floor plan was great as a one story because we have 2 young children, and they each got their own bedrooms. The air conditioning worked very well which is a huge plus in Texas. Sea World was only about 15 minutes away. Also, we got pizza delivered to the house with no problem. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay close to Sea World or Fiesta Texas especially if you have children. The house is beautiful and shows that the owner cares about his property.

Nice bones, but needs TLC.

Pro's - Nice area, gated & quiet subdivision, easy to get to various highways, and shopping. The house layout and yard is great for large groups. The air conditioner wasn't working properly but Roberto was extremely quick to respond. Con's - I read previous reviews, as recent as a month before our trip, that the place was clean and well maintained. We did not feel that was the case at all. The decking had numerous holes (some large enough to sprain an ankle), the swing by the fish pond was totally ripped, the cushion on the lawn furniture were dirty (as well as the furniture itself) and the stuffing was coming out so much I thought it was an animal sitting on the chair. The inside of the house was dusty & dirty, refrigerator, microwave, and stove light/fan cover was VERY dirty.... to the point of I wasn't sure if the sheets had been changed. Needless to say I loaded the dishwasher & did laundry before I came in contact with anything. The dining room chairs had the plastic shipping covers draped over the sides - instead of just taking the extra time to remove. I rented numerous houses through VRBO and this was the most disappointed I've been. Just needs some serious deep cleaning & maint!

I always look for the positives

Overall the house was very spacious and close to all the attractions that we were there for. But the negatives were, the housekeeping crew did not do a very good job of cleaning. There was an abundance of dead roaches along the walls throughout the house, not to mention all of the live ones that e had to deal with in the kitchen. I was not aware or informed that the back deck was in such a poor state of decay and rot. One half had been repaired but the other side was down right dangerous. I just would have appreciated a heads up about it. The deck was not a deal brea Though, but the roaches almost was. If those minor issues were dealt with, I would definitely rent this house out again. We had more than enough sleeping space for everyone! 8 adults, 4 kids

Family weekend

The house was in a beautiful neighborhood. However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the house and the old unsafe deck on the back of the house. The house had a stale odor and dirty carpet throughout. There were small rugs placed randomly on the carpet throughout the house. I’m guessing to cover stains. We were too afraid to lift them up. The two bath towels that I selected in the bathroom had small balls of hair on them. The kitchen counters were sticky, there were greasy fingerprints and smudges on the microwave and wine refrigerator. At some point this was a nice home, but it was not cleaned well and needed repairs. When I pointed out some of my concerns, the response was I will let my house keepers and maintenance person know about it. This did not reassure me that things would be taken care of anytime soon.

Great Stay

We had a great time and enjoyed the home. The house is spacious and enough room for our group. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated having TVs in the bedrooms. We will definitely look for this property again if we’re in the area!

Complete nightmare- BUGS, DIRT, BLOOD, MOLD, STAINS, DANGEROUS DECK

This was the absolute worst vacation rental I have ever stayed in. The carpet was disgusting, covered in dirt, stains, dog urine, and bugs. There were bugs everywhere. The WiFi did not work which meant none of the TVs worked because the cable and streaming services all ran on the WiFi. We could not use any of our devices. The back deck is extremely dangerous with nails sticking up and lose boards. It’s a drop several feet down if one of the boards were to break and one of us almost fell through. It was terrifying. There were caterpillars inside the house on the carpet. The host told me I would receive a full refund and that he would be firing his maintenance crew, which he then still charged me several hundred dollars. The Coi fish pond was full of algae and stagnant, with no sign of any live fish. All of the plants and flowers in the listing were dead. The gate code on the listing was incorrect causing a huge inconvenience. There was candy stuck in the carpet. There was a pillow with blood stains. The blankets were not soft at all and they smelled dirty. One of the bathroom floors were covered in dark mold around the toilet and bathtub. There were spots across the house that appeared to be dog urine. There were red stains on the carpet. I wish I could attach pictures to this review. I have pictures as proof, including the screenshot proof of the host lying to me regarding the full refund.

Horrible mosquitoes bring off ! & Be prepared for cleaning Fees .

The patio is beautiful which is the only reason i book .. EXCEPT IT SMELLS AWFUL .. lingers to the seating area by the entry door to the patio… so awful to the point one of my family members were sick to their stomach and had to go inside due to the coy pond , the water is green and .. fish are in there .. which is awful treatment .. After sitting on the patio for about 5 minutes all the way up my leg/thigh and bottom had mosquito bites .. my whole family’s skin just had bites everywhere we eventually had to go get off from Walmart and also fluid for the torches to keep them away but they were still there .. The patio has loose boards that sink in when you walk which is very dangerous and a major hazards towards the guest , I highly WOULDN'T recommend the patio during summer unless you want to scratch yourself every second .. it’s not pleasant at all .. The patio had beer tops left over from the previous guest .. the bathroom had about 5 used razors which i left on the counter for the owner to see being that’s disgusting and unsanitary .. My body is still very stiff from the mattresses.. being the cost of the rental nightly .. sleeping quality should be of importance to the owner … The trash was left over from previous guest missing trash day which caused us to have no where to dispose of our trash which was an inconvenience being the owner has no trash can in the home so we had to make trash cans by hanging trashbags on the door … only a small trash can in the home .. House also has a plumbing issue we had to manually fix the toilet because it kept rising up after using the bathroom ..The grass was extremely high being the cost of the rental the owner should’ve came before he had guest .. he asked to come the day we were there which was very unprofessional this Vrbo rental was booked way in advance and he knew we were coming …We were also charged for a glass of wine supposedly leftover .. but we cleaned the whole house … seems as if the owner was just looking to get extra money …. Just advice everything isn’t what it seems when looking at pictures .. you will wake up with body aches daily due to the mattress and the mosquitos are literally horrible .. If you can explore other options I advice you to do so.

Nice home in a nice neighborhood

The house was very nice, clean and comfortable. The home is located within a gated community that was easily accessed through great communication with the owner. Everything was well stocked and there are two coffee makers (drip and K-cup). Over all my family and I were very happy and surprised by the over all luxury of the home. We will definitely be back when we have to return the San Antonio area.

I purchased this property in 2005 with the intentions on making it my retiring home. I designed and installed all the outdoor features of this home during the 8 years I lived in it. I spend the last 8 years making the Retreat a paradise to enjoy with family and friends. I come from a large family (11 siblings) and have many family members that visited me during that time. The retreat offered us the perfect gathering pace for family groups. Now I want to share my house with visitors to enjoy what The Retreat has to offer.
