Nestled perfectly between San José and Manuel Antonio, Esterillos Este offers everything we were looking for: a peaceful beach town with stunning jungle scenery, friendly locals, and an unhurried pace of life. Here, we can start our mornings with coffee on the terrace as scarlet macaws fly overhead, spend the afternoon on a quiet beach just minutes away, and still be close to restaurants, small markets, and essential conveniences.
For us, Esterillos is the best of all worldsâclose enough to the city for easy weekend escapes, but far enough to feel truly away from it all. Itâs family-friendly, safe, and serene, yet full of opportunities for adventure.
