Perfect Private Little Spot

This is the perfect little place to stay when visiting CDA. It's right by Jimmy's Down the Street and has all the amenities to feel like a home away from home. I enjoyed spending my evenings here, there was plenty of privacy and parking. I will stay here again if the need arises!

Overnight in downtown CDA

The play was nice, its about a mile from the CDA resort. we walked downtown and back. The neighborhood was nice and close to everything. perfect little overnight place to stay.

Perfect little cottage

We loved our stay. It was clean, well equipped, a short walk to Sherman St., and the check-in process was very organized and easy. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Just what we needed

We were traveling through Coeur D' Alene and this cottage was perfect. We enjoyed a walk around Tubbs Hill in the evening which was great.

We enjoyed our short stay. The studio had kitchen facilities, laundry and plenty of bath supplies. Easy to eat in or dine out with a short walk to all the CDA dining options.

Charming place

This cottage is actually a garage turned into a dwelling. The floors are not level throughout. It was very clean, had what was needed, and in a central location. The bed was very comfortable, however the futon was not. It felt like falling into a hole when you sat in it. The parking was not desirable. It was located on a busy, narrow lane road. If you will be out and about for much of the time, this place is okay.

CDA Cottage Close to Downtown

My husband & I enjoyed our stay. Jake did a great job decorating. It was a cool mix of steam punk & modern decor and the shower is to die for. It was handy having the washer/dryer as we had been on the road for over a week. It’s about a 5 block walk into downtown Coeur d’Alene.

Cute but Sketchy

The outside is really off putting and sketchy but the inside was nice. The heaters were not working for us so it was a very cold and rainy stay but the location was very nice and the neighborhood was pretty quiet. The place wasn't very clean while we were there. There are several cracks and interesting dark spots as well as a broken shower nozzle and a porch light that doesn't work. Apart from that it was a very cute and nice place to stay and was very much worth the price.

Conveniently located in walking distance to downtown. I didn't use the kitchen, but it seemed to have everything that was needed. The porch had no light, entry door was not easy to open, toilet occasionally needed a push to stop flushing, sofa was lumpy and uncomfortable to sit on. There was a stale smell in the entire cottage and the bed cover didn't look clean. Everything else looked clean. The advertised price is misleading - taxes and fees almost doubled the total cost. Since I didn't actually need the kitchen, I would have been better off (price and comfort) in a downtown motel.

Not the best place

This unit is close to downtown which is good. But- it is very small and not efficiently designed. The bed is very uncomfortable and there is no central heating so the unit is cold. Plus- it’s on a very busy, noisy road. Probably a good choice for college students visiting but not older visitors.

The Cherry on the Top

First location, location, location. We were blocks from the main street and all the action. One block up and two streets down and we were in the center of all the action. The home is however in a quiet corner and also gave us a spot for relaxing when we wanted to. The only issue we had was the area rugs in the unit need a good cleaning and the cupboard below the sink is an odd cut out and you must be careful not to pinch your fingers. However, the shower makes up for all that. It is large and has a wonderful rain head. I would stay here again in the future. Coeur D'Alene was the cherry on the top of a great vacation.

Health hazard

The cottage is on property of the owner and is a shed like building. It is rundown on the outside. Upon entering I was overcome by a mold smell and the place was not clean. Within ten minutes I started coughing and my face got flushed. I left the building and knocked on the owners door. They did not answer. I have made calls to the owner and so has VRBO. The owner has not responded to me going on three days now. My money has not been refunded and I did not stay at this property because it is a health hazard.

Misconception

I received the address about 36 hours before check in! That’s when we were told it was an alley way entry with on street parking The outside was like an old shed turned into a VRBO! Rundown is an understatement Porch light didn’t work, front door stuck very bad, no hand towels in the bathroom. Shower drain was disgusting, one kitchen towel with stains on it, cooking pans appeared to be from a second hand store, couch was BROKEN-only use was to put our suitcase on it and left us with 2 kitchen stools to sit on. Refrigerator froze the lettuce 2 cadet space heaters! Needless to say we will write a review online regarding this property.

Clean and Decent Value but far from an Immaculate Cottage

This property is clean and spacious and decent value compared to other option but not exactly as advertised. The top 3 things about this property are: 1. The Shower.. it may not be energy efficient but the strength of the water flow is amazing. 2. The Location is awesome, a short walk to the downtown of Coeur DAlene which we loved 3. The Bed: The mattress is firm but comfortable.. had a good nights sleep. Here are 3 things we did not like: The Title is the Immaculate Cottage yet the first thing you will see when arriving is a building that is in bad need of some fresh paint. It left us a bit hesitant to walk around and open the door to discover what we would find inside. 2. The photos do not lie persay but are maximized for brightness when in fact the interior of this property has very few windows to let in natural light and the windows that do exist are under the shade of big trees so the space is naturally quite dark which is not a plus for us. 3. Communication. This space advertises internet which relies on a relay from the box in the main house. We were only able to connect for a brief 5 minutes and the original request for help took over 12 hours to get responded to. They sent someone on Day 2 to add an extender but we still were not able to connect. Had to find public spaces to use. In the end it is a clean and large interior space that if you just need a bed & Kitchen at a convenient location can be good value. Just know real expectations.

Excellent location to Downtown CDA

Loved being able to walk downtown CDA, and beyond along the lakeshore, past the local college. Also, went up Tubs Hill for lovely views. Did a drop-in class at the Cross Fit on 4th and CDA Ave for free. The instructors and classmates were very welcoming! In past visits, have also used the rock climbing center at the YMCA. Breakfast was awesome at Michael D's eatery- enough for 2 days. Must get the mini-zuchinni bread loaf which comes as a side with the omelettes. Another day tried the Bakery By the Lake, which had yummy cinnamon rolls, and free Wi-Fi if needed. Attended a friend's wedding for the weekend, and prepped with a mani/pedi, and blow-out hair style at Polished downtown on Sherman. The wedding rehearsal dinner was at the CDA golf resort, where we were able to hang out at the infinity pool during the day beforehand. The view was unbelievable, and there were rented jet skis to enjoy the lake water as well. Wedding was held on top of a hill at Elks Point, and after party was at the Iron Horse. For a quieter venue, I'd suggest Whispers at the CDA resort. Overall, the Immaculate Guest House was very convenient location, and an economical choice vs. local hotel prices. The shower head was the large rain style, with hand held option. Having laundry on site was a big bonus. There was a coffee pot, and filters; but no coffee. So, stop by the near by Harvest Foods, a couple blocks East on Sherman for staples. I didn't cook anything while there, as most meals were included in wedding activities. The last meal together was at Tony's on the Lake; the scallop appetizers were spicy and enough for a main course. However, the VRBO kitchen has everything needed if you'd prefer to cook your own meals. I would definitely recommend this VRBO to anyone, and stay there again. The owner was very responsive to my needs when required.
