The property was beautiful with the most amazing views! Would definitely stay here again when in the area. The only thing missing were extra blankets for the pull out couch but otherwise we couldn’t ask for anything else!

Picturesque

The house was updated and quite clean; however, the listing did not mention that it had been (or was) pet friendly, which exacerbated my asthma. The mattress was not bad-back friendly. But the view was spectacular, looking out over an inlet. Very relaxing and quiet.

Relaxing family vacation

Lovely house with beautiful views, comfortable beds, overall great stay, (could use new frying pans) We rented kayaks from Ayers and took full advantage of outdoor space.

Comfort and beauty combined

We can’t say enough good things about the Oliver house. It was one of the best getaways that we had in a long time. Everything about the place hits the mark, the view, the house, the area. All I can say is one of the best vacations we ever had. If you get the chance to go to the Oliver house definitely go. Perfect location to everything. And a little tip shrimp boat restaurant has the best shrimp ever!

4th of July Getaway

Greetings Evolve team, I sent this feedback to the caretaker of the rental property and have yet to receive acknowledgement of her receiving this correspondence...but this was my comments and concerns regarding the trip. Once again, I would like to thank you for being available to me and my family during our recent vacation to Ocean City. This trip was much needed during this pandemic period of life. We made new memories and spent precious time together. Your vacation Rental was lovely and located perfectly on its own little private beach - which the kids thoroughly enjoyed!! We saw up close wildlife and nature at its best...bunnies, schools of fish and geese and ducks and Cranes,etc. The community was pleasant and welcoming. We would love to come back again. That part you can post as a four star rating. That being said, We did encouter other vacationers with pets that had no boundaries and kept crossing the street to venture into the yard area. That was a little concerning, since we brought our pets with us too but luckily, I also brought my own fencing with me to keep my babies enclosed and safe and leashed them otherwise. Upon arrival, we first noticed that one of the closet doors was down, and we reported that upon check in and after speaking with you and you even told me about the trash issue- which still didn't get resolved for two days further, we saw several other concerns that were not identified prior to our arrival such as the sliding door knob to the master bedroom loose and barely hanging on; as was the shower head holder very loose; some of the dining room chairs were unraveling and had deep sunken seats; the 2nd bathroom tub looked as if it had not been cleaned prior to our arrival and there was evidence of mold; many of the walls were in need of cleaning and repairs from water damage and repainting; the second bedroom had some strange noises often for long periods of time; there was an ant infestation and I could tell that they may have been coming from outside as the yard had mnay anthills on the grounds; there was also some kind of large brown spider -about the size of a golf ball- that made it's presence known; several of the windows had no screens and were difficult to either open or close; while natural light is beautiful, there was a need for window coverings for privacy; in the instructions that I received for how to unlock the front door, there weren't any instructions on how to lock the door and there was no way to lock the door to the front sun room for security at night. That was a bit unsettling. Lastly, our family was there when a storm came through with tornado warnings and there were no window shutters on the home or any evacuation procedures provided. Also there weren't any any safe place inside the house to bunker down if needed. Although, I was pleased with the overall stay, I feel that the price was too high for what I received. There are alot of upkeep that needs to take place. I am including some of the photos I took to show the portions of the house that I spoke about. I understand that holidays are an optimal time to rent the property but I would have appreciated an adjusted refund based on the condition of the unit. Again, please understand that because my family and I enjoyed our stay, I am sharing my concerns and experience with the rental in order for you to make it an even better stay going forward. West Ocean City House Review

I don't typically write reviews because I read so many of them and feel that some people are just unrealistic and/or extremely critical of things that really don't mean anything. Anyway, I thought I would change that up this time and leave one as well. This property was a nice place. We were initially hesitant to book it because we felt it was extremely overpriced. We have stayed in beach houses in Ocean City, Fenwick, Bethany, etc. for many years...and we spent a few years in Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks as well, so we have plenty of knowledge of what places typically cost. I typically wait till the last minute to book becuase it gives me a little bit of "buying power". When an owner is faced with the decision of either letting their place sit empty and getting zero money, or renting it to me for less than asking price, in 99% of the cases it turns out as a win-win situation for both parties. They still rent their place, although for slightly less money, and we get a great deal. What's not to like? Anyway, this was the first time in many, many years where this did not work out. I literally waited until about 3 days out to book and they still refused to accept anything less than asking price. I think in this case this house is owned by Evolve and not an individual family/owner, but I'm not positive of that. Normally I would have just moved on to the next place, but for some crazy reason this time EVERYTHING was booked. That's an exaggeration of course, but has some truth to it. Yes, there were still plenty of places available to book, but not with all of the "requirements" that we have. In order to meet all of those requirements (sleeps 8, on the water with boat access, and pet friendly), this was the only place left. So we paid it, but were not happy about it. In particular, I am absolutely furious about what has happened to companies like VRBO, AirBnB, etc. They were once great little websites that were truly "vacation rentals BY OWNER". Now they are all owned by huge companies that just charge astronomical fees for doing essentially nothing but providing a website to list your rental. Sorry for the rant on that, but it is ridiculous. In any case, the property was nice and in a quiet neighborhood. That said, if you have a boat, beware of extremely low water levels in the canal and "channels". The homeowners association or someone needs to dredge it out. At low tide it was difficult to navigate, and we talked to a local who said it's been a problem for a while. Otherwise we enjoyed it and were happy with our choice. Thanks.

Overall great place!

We enjoyed our stay. The house was fair for the price. The views were outstanding! One recommendation is to get house a little bit more handicapped friendly. Another drawback was ants... they were everywhere :(.

Excellent property! Great Location!

We were looking for a nice place to have a socially distant, low key vacation. This place was just what the doctor ordered. Your own personal little beach area, a nice firepit circle, great views, a large deck for outdoor eating, and plenty of space inside. Close enough to OC that it's easy to get delivery and make a grocery run. The wifi/internet is quite fast, and was able to sustain a few gamers among our group easily. TV in every room was nice. Highly recommend this place for folks looking to have a nice vacation away from it all.

Great view, mediocre space

I noted all the other reviews begin with the location and view. AND there is no question that these are PERFECT. Without its great location, however, this house has little to offer, particularly given how expensive it was to rent ($300+ per night in October). We found the beds to be uncomfortable, and in one case, the sheets smelled musty and mildew-y. While there were many plates, pans, etc. in the kitchen, very little else was supplied. Most of the basic items one would expect to find in a pantry were missing. A grill is advertised, but there wasn't any propane for it. There also is a fire pit, but no wood or starter logs were supplied. We bought some logs only to find that the *one* lighter we could find ran out of fluid. Most of the fixtures are old and in need of repair. The weather was very pleasant, and we were able to sit outside. However, we couldn't find any cushions for the many chaise lounges that were on the deck. If the price to rent this home had been lower, I would not rate this place so poorly. But, given what we had to pay each night in the off-season, we were very disappointed in the home itself. Despite the lovely location and view, it is VERY overpriced. The 4 stars I gave this place reflects the location. Without that, I would assign no more than 2 stars.

Amazing

Our family had an amazing week at this property! We loved that is was pet friendly and the location was perfect! Close to the boardwalk and a nature preserve! The backyard was private and the view of the bay was spectacular! The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed! We will definitely be back next year!

Wonderful family home

We really enjoyed our short weekend in Ocean City at this home. It is on the "main land" side of Ocean city, facing the waterway between the main land and the outer island with the beaches. This house was clean, well stocked, and quiet. We would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful
