Our initial impression of the property was good, as we had a good online interaction with the owner, found the place, and checked in without trouble. One hiccough is that we did not get the condo that we saw online - we were in Ridge Top 80 rather than down by the river. As we drove through the complex, we saw garbage overflowing from many of the outdoor bins, which animals had gotten into - not a good look. We called about this, and the management addressed it immediately.
The condo was laid out well and equipped well, but we found that it really needed a thorough cleaning. We found drips on the walls coming from the ventilation system, stains on presumably clean sheets, stains and burns in the carpet, cracked kitchen counters, hair clippings (!) on the screened-in porch, large cobwebs, and ants in the kitchen (we kept our food in the fridge). The knives and cookware were in good shape. Handy, nice washer and dryer, and we were happy to have the welcome pack of kitchen towels, laundry soap and dishwasher soap.
The facility was nice, and we enjoyed the pool, tennis courts, and mini-golf.
There was confusion about whether we were permitted to use the facilities at the Shawnee Inn. Our concierge said we could use anything but the pool, but when we drove down to check it out, the security guard at the front gate said the two facilities were separate and we were not permitted.
So we enjoyed our time there, but we don't plan to go back unless we hear that the interiors have been updated and the cleaning has been improved.
