Create memories to last a lifetime in the Mazzucca Villa, an Italian-inspired villa nestled along Threemile Creek. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Glenwood Springs, this home is quintessential of the Colorado Rockies. This Villa offers the best of tranquility and convenience to family skiing at Sunlight and Aspen, world class golfing at Iron Bridge and area golf courses, Gold Medal fishing on the Roaring Fork, miles of bike and hiking trails, and of course soaking in world class hot springs! The Mazzucca Villa is perfect for an adventurous getaway or relaxing vacation.
The space
PLEASE NOTE: There are many unique considerations of this one-of-a-kind so please read the listing description and "IMPORTANT TO NOTE" sections below before booking.
A quaint bridge over a bubbling creek welcomes you to the Mazzuca Villa surrounded by stunning massive old growth spruce, cottonwood, and weeping willow trees. Old World Italian inspiration meets modern convenience with a recently remodeled kitchen with sleek counters and new appliances. This space is fully equipped with everything you need to whip up a quick breakfast or family dinner. Enjoy your meal around the dining table, or in the warmer months, dine al fresco on the spacious creek-side patio. Take your morning coffee in the charming main floor alcove and unwind with a glass of wine on one of the charming upper-level balconies. The villa offers small corners of tranquility for the whole family and guests, both indoors and out.
Conveniently located on the main level, the primary bedroom features a queen bed, en suite recently remodeled bathroom, and French doors that open onto the side patio.
The main living space on the second level offers an electric fireplace, vintage 1935 Mathushek piano, a balcony overlooking the creek and patio, and a unique spiral staircase leading up to the third floor. The second level has a bedroom with a comfortable full-size bed, vanity and adjacent bathroom. This bathroom has both a shower and tub and can also be accessed from the laundry room, which contains a second sink vanity. See photos for additional details on this unique layout.
A designated workspace, sitting area with sleeper sofa, additional twin roll away bed, and cozy bedroom with queen bed and balcony access can be found on the third floor. The towering third floor balcony is an ideal space to relax under the stars and listen to the creek flowing below. The one-of-a-kind Mazzuca Villa is a true gem with a remote true Colorado mountain feel yet convenient location, making it the ideal home base for outstanding adventures great and small!

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
Please use caution when using the spiral staircase leading to the upper level bedroom, especially with children.
This home's water source comes from a well so please use the water dispenser on the kitchen sink or refrigerator dispenser for drinking and cooking. The kitchen sink dispenser and the refrigerator water and ice dispenser is equipped with a reverse osmosis system for high-quality water.
During the spring (April-mid-June) rainwater and snowmelt runoff in Threemile Creek may cause discoloration of the water. It may have a brown tint due to sediment that has flowed into the well. However the water is triple filtered and UV sterilized so it is safe for showering, bathing etc. With groups of 4 or more people, please limit high water usage activities as this could put a strain on the water supply systems.
A fence surrounds the front patio and provides safety with the creek being so close, but do be aware when children are staying at the home. Especially during spring time when there is high run-off.
THIS IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY. The use of tobacco, cannabis or vapor devices is strictly prohibited inside the house. Disregarding this rule WILL RESULT IN A $500 FINE.
Travel Protection: We HIGHLY recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance as there are NO REFUNDS if canceled outside of our cancellation period, regardless of the reason (including illness, flight delays, weather, road conditions, etc.).
Cell coverage cuts out shortly before arrival at the home. Please be aware of this when planning your arrival. WiFi access for calling and streaming is available.
This home does NOT have central air conditioning although there are fans for your comfort. This home stays fairly cool in the summer due to the shaded canyon and cool breeze coming off the creek.
As the Villa is in the Colorado mountains along a creek we share the property with many creatures both great and small. Some of the tiny ones may find their way into the house from time to time, especially when doors are left open. This may include, but is not limited to, ants, box elder beetles, elm seed beetles, flies, wasps, spiders, and on a very rare occasion a snake or a mouse. Mosquito and bug repellent is recommended since the home is located right on the creek.
This home is proactively treated by professionals on a monthly basis and while snakes and mice are rare, the smaller bugs do find their way in despite all our efforts! Please do not book this home if this makes you uncomfortable as refunds will not be given for bug or critter sightings since they are part of our landscape here in the mountains.
The garage and small cabin are not available for guest use.
Please be aware that due to the narrow driveway trailers may be difficult to navigate. If you bring your motorcycles, atvs, snowmobiles etc. DO NOT ride them on the neighborhood road and use them only in designated areas. We want to respect our fellow Three Mile Road Residents and maintain the tranquil nature of our little canyon. Campers are not allowed.
