Experience our cozy log cabin with a lovely view, meet our goats and our farm dog, and fry up eggs laid by our chickens. In the evening the fireflies appear and after dark you can see many stars in the sky.
Our homestead is in rural Tennessee, 45 minutes from Nashville and 10 minutes from historic downtown Dickson.
The log cabin is on 5.5 acres of pasture and woods. We have a goats, chickens, ducks, and a farm dog. The goats and the dog are very friendly and you can pet and interact with them through the fence. The birds prefer to keep their distance.
We have a short walking trail in the woods to a bench where you can enjoy the peaceful forest.
Youâll hear the natural sounds of the countrysideâfrogs and crickets at night, and chickens in the morning. Fans in the bedrooms offer white noise.
Our cabin is not well suited for those with mobility challenges or accessibility needs. The porch stairs outside do not have a handrail. The interior staircase to the loft does have a handrail but is a bit steep. There are two bedrooms downstairs on the same level as the bathrooms.
Guest access
The whole house is private for guest use, besides one room in the hall that we keep locked and use for storage. We have 3 bedrooms and 5 beds. 8 people can comfortably sleep in our cabin.
You can walk around the property in any areas that are not fenced in, and you can interact with the goats and the dog if they come up to the fence to say hi to you.
You are welcome to make fresh farm eggs for breakfast. Salt, pepper and oil are available for guest use.
Other things to note
Weâve renovated the interior of the cabin ourselves, preserving its rustic character while adding modern comforts. Some exterior projects and property improvements are still in progress and will continue throughout the year without disruption to any guest visits.
The cabin is accessed via a long gravel driveway, which is uneven in places. Vehicles with very low clearance may struggle, but standard sedans can drive it fine.
