Upplev charmen i en stuga i skogen med moderna bekvämligheter i hemmet och den unika Zen-liknande upplevelsen av en Yurt. Vad är en Yurt? Yurts är cirkulära bostäder byggda runt en träram, ursprungligen designad av nomaderna Mongoliet. Idag är de njutna i olika glansinställningar, kust till kust.

Våra lyxiga yurt - den första i sitt slag i Haywood County - har ett fullt utrustat kök, badrum, separat sovrum, vardagsrum med bäddsoffa, matplats, wrap- runt veranda med grill för din grill, och en utomhus eldstad med sittplatser.

Ringad av berg ligger vår Yurt på en liten familjegård som specialiserar sig i peonies (maj är topppejsäsong) och odlade fikonträd.

Wildcat Ridge Farm ligger bara 30 minuter öster om Asheville centrum, vid porten till Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Nantahala National Forest och nära Pisgah National Forest. Vi är också en kort 20 minuters bilresa till historiska downtown Waynesville med sin handgjorda konst och hantverk, möbelaffärer, restauranger och barer.

Tillbringa dina dagar vandring, forsränning, paddling, besöker de varma källorna, skidåkning Cataloochee på vintern, cykling under de varmare månaderna, eller ta in sevärdheter och ljud i Asheville och Biltmore Estate.

Great Getaway

Location was great, close enough to Waynesville / Maggie Valley area, but still remote and peaceful. View of the river and gardens was great. Riccardo was a wonderful host.

Perfect Yurt Get Away

This was our first yurt experience and the property was fantastic as were the owners. The view of the river is amazing. The property is so peaceful and we had a relaxing time. Ricardo met us on the way in and showed us around and even left us a bottle of wine and chocolate. He was an awesome host! Can’t wait to return!

Yin Yurt was so amazing!!

This property was just beautiful. Our first time staying in a yurt and it was very cool. The yurt was clean and stocked with everything you need. The view overlooking the Pigeon River was breathtaking. The owners were so nice...left us a bottle of wine and chocolate:) We will definitely be back for a future stay!

Looking Forward To The Next Time

We loved our stay at Yin Yurt. It was wonderful being truly unplugged for a while and reconnecting with just existing. We went hiking during the days we were there at Great Smoky National Park and at Black Balsam Knob, which we learned about from the guide created by our hosts. We just left on Monday, and we’re already planning our next visit.

Amazing getaway!

Our first time staying in a yurt and we loved it! Beautifully decorated and amazing views of the mountains and the beautiful river. We chose the perfect time to visit as the Fall Foliage was majestic! Wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome!

No need to look any further, click "Book Now". All the reviews are 5 stars which does this place an injustice because it deserves 10 stars. The absolute most unique getaway. This place is better than any resort you could imagine. The photos are great but it's even more spectacular in person. The sound of the river was amazing. This will blow your mind when you see the details that were put into the accommodations. Ricardo such an accomplished individual, please allow him to tell you his stories which are nothing short of legendary. From the wines, flowers, restaurant, tour trips, hosting events and professional chef, he's awesome! This was the most tranquil trip we've ever taken. You will not find another place like this. Wish we had more time! Thank you!

Ricardo and I moved to the mountains of western North Carolina from South Florida in the mid-90s to open a restaurant, Lomo Grill, in downtown Waynesville. We grew many of the fruits and vegetables for our restaurant on the farm. We operated our restaurant for 16 years before turning to other adventures, including producing gourmet tomato sauces, teaching cooking classes, operating culinary tours to Ricardo’s native Argentina, catering private events in the greater Asheville area and as a NC Master gardener cultivating and growing peonies and fig trees for sale to the public. Wildcat Ridge Farm has long served as a gathering place for our family and friends. Building the yurt stemmed from our desire to share this slice of heaven with others. Photo credit: Emily Chapman

Varför värden valde detta boende

We purchased the land that became Wildcat Ridge Farm in the mid-90s. We had operated an Import/Export business in Miami for years and were seeking a change in lifestyle and surroundings. This piece of land--along the Pigeon river, with a creek running through it, ringed by mountains and blessed with southern exposure and all-day sunshine--was exactly what we dreamed we would find. We converted an abandoned tobacco barn into our home and began the process of cultivating the land for the fruits and vegetables we would serve in our restaurant. At one point, we even terraced a section of the hill and planted grape vines, until we realized we barely had time to cut the lettuces, much less make wine! We fell in love with the property and added to it over the years, turning it into a gathering spot for our family and friends. Wildcat Ridge Farm has served as a regular respite for guests from California, to Buenos Aires, to New England. Until now those guests fought over a single guest bedroom and sofa. Now, we can offer them the luxury and adventure of this gorgeous yurt with a more spectacular view that we have from our own deck!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Our biggest question was “what to build?” We explored all sorts of options – from log cabins, to A-frames, to simple cottages, but once we discovered yurts, that was it! Not only is a round building just…cool…it’s very eco-friendly. Pacific Yurts are built using SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) sustainably sourced wood. They can also be removed from a site leaving virtually no trace. Beyond the environmental warm, fuzzy feelings, they are incredibly gorgeous inside and out. Our yurt features all of the comforts of home, including a full kitchen, tiled shower and bath, living room, dining area, breakfast bar, private bedroom and a wraparound deck with a view of the river. There is also a garden area outside with a fire-pit and seating for your star-gazing and storytelling. Bottom line? It’s where we would want to stay if we were traveling to the mountains!
