Very quiet and comfortable place to stay. Very clean, stocked with essentials, impressive view from the dining table. Hiked the perimeter trail and spent time in the hot springs. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to Ouray.

The location of the house was perfect. It was right across from the river so we could just walk on the river trail in to town and the hot springs everyday. We didn’t even need our car. The rooms and kitchen were spacious and kitchen appliances adequate.

Location great to get to town or sightsee. Lots of room in cabin. Well stocked with everything needed. Bed very comfortable. No complaints at all.

loved the San Juan mountains

The location was great and as described: close enough to town but away enough as well. We enjoyed the San Juan mountains and had a great time. However, I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the house...very dusty, floor sticky in some spots, bedding wrinkled when turned down, appearing as if it was slept in and not washed. When I proceeded to wash it, I found the mattress cover to be stained as well as 2 of the pillows...need replacing(?). We also found the bath towels to be dingy, slightly stained, barely folded and appeared to be thrown into the cabinet. Also, the sofa appeared to be pieced together with new fabric seat cushions on a leather sofa, which kept sliding forward and off the frame when we sat on them. I did communicate these issues with the manager and eventually heard from the owner, who stated if anything needed replacing they would do so and that they would definitely speak to their housekeeper regarding the issues mentioned. I am aware of difficulties managing a VRBO and I was grateful for his reply. I hope that those improvements will be in place for the next rentors as the locations was great, the bed was comfortable and we did overall enjoy the stay.

The entire house, including the kitchen, was more than fully equipped. This was a perfect house for couples, friends and small families. The fire pit in the front yard was fun for evening marshmallow roasts.We appreciated all the helpful communication and help provided by the host!

Comfortable home in a great location

The property is exactly as shown and even a bit better! The house was very clean and comfortable, and in an excellent location! The view is breathtaking, and there is the perfect spot in the front yard to have morning coffee and watch the sun come over the mountains. There is also an outdoor eating space! We saw deer in the evenings and walked the trail morning and evening! The beds were clean and comfortable. This property does not have air conditioning and it was quite warm during our stay but no air conditioning is a norm for this area and it cools off nicely at night! Overall it wasn’t a problem. We would certainly stay here again! Check in and out was a breeze! You can’t go wrong with this property.

Great Views

We flew up for a winter trip with the family. The house was great. Lots of great and lots to do in the town and close to many other towns. The driveway can get a little slick in the winter so definitely recommend 4wd if staying in the snow/icy times.

We are two brothers who live with our families in Southern California. Our parents retired to this part of Colorado and we have visited them every year since then. They own an antique store on Main St. in Ouray called RB Horse Trader and would love to have you stop by and say hello.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Over the years we have been overwhelmed by the natural beauty of this area and the quaintness and hospitality of Ouray so this year we purchased this house so that we would have a place to stay for years to come. Ouray and the surrounding area has so much to offer. You can hike, jeep, and climb until you are exhausted or you can just sit down and watch the aspen shimmer in the breeze.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

We love this property because it is so close to the amenities of town and yet you can also enjoy a bit of seclusion. Our property runs about 100 feet up the hill behind the house. If you hike up a bit you will catch glimpses of wild roses and deer. The dining room has windows that stretch from end to end giving an unobstructed view of the dramatic canyon walls.
