Uppflugen högt upp i bergen kommer du att kÀnna att du verkligen har ett fÄgelperspektiv av Blue Ridge Mountains. FrÄn bekvÀmligheten av luft stolar pÄ den tÀckta verandan du tittar ut över de omgivande trÀden och gröna kullar i dalen till avlÀgsna topparna i de blÄ-tonade bergen som ger dem deras namn.

Det Àr bara ett steg in i huvudnivÄn som har en öppen planlösning sÄ kocken kan prata med alla frÄn köket till matsal och vardagsrum. I korridoren finns 2 sovrum - ett med en fullstÀndig sÀng och den andra med 2 enkelsÀngar - och ett badrum mellan.

En trappa upp finns ett stort loft som har en drottning bÀddsoffa och fler spel och leksaker Àn ett barn kan hoppas pÄ. Loftet har ocksÄ en halv bad för bekvÀmlighet. Det finns en liten TV med en video bibliotek av klassiska filmer.

NedervÄningen finns ett spelrum med darttavla och stötfÄngare pool, tvÀttstuga och master svit med en drottning sÀng och en trevlig promenad i duschen.

NÀr du har fyllt lungorna med frisk luft och bara kan inte slappna av lÀngre, det finns sÄ mÄnga aktiviteter vÀntar pÄ dig inom en kort bilresa ... huset ligger nÀra mm288 strax utanför Blue Ridge Parkway mellan Boone och Blowing Rock ... ta en skön kryssning pÄ Parkway pÄ jakt efter den perfekta vandringsled, vada i kallt vatten av Pris Lake ström, ta en mil lÄng naturskön (och platt) gÄ runt Bass Lake sedan förundras över den höga kvalitet hantverk pÄ Cone Manor. Ingen resa till höglÀnderna Àr komplett utan en enhet till toppen av Grandfather Mountain att korsa över Mile High Swinging Bridge. Inte mycket lÀngre ner pÄ gatan Àr Linville Caverns och Falls. Och om du har de unga med dig, Àr Tweetsie ett mÄste ... du kan höra visselpipan blÄser frÄn huset! Efter roliga fyllda dagar komma hem till din bekvÀma retrÀtt högt pÄ en kulle.

My family loves this house; its location is central to all of our favorite places to visit in and around Blowing Rock. The porch provides terrific, peaceful, sky and mountain views, and the loft is a perfect play space for kids. The kitchen is well-equipped and the individual heating/cooling units in all the rooms keep everyone comfortable at night.

Holiday Weekend

Had a lovely time. The home was well stocked and homey with a lot of knickknacks, but clean. The views were fantastic. Homeowner texted us about a fireworks show up the street and we had a glorious Fourth! The proximity to Blowing Rock town was fantastic.

Girls Trip

We were looking for a place to just relax and enjoy peace, while having a little fun. This house was the perfect place in the perfect location. It was right off the Blue-Ridge Parkway, with amazing views. It is close to several towns for eating out or shopping. We found several near-by hikes. Enjoyed a night around the fire pit. I highly recommend this home away from home!

Kathy and Tom were great. Location is wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't have a smooth stay. As in any home things go wrong but Kathy was very quick to repair or replace. And it rained every day which again was poor timing on our part.But given the chance we would definitely stay there again.

Great mountain cabin

Loved staying at Kathy's cozy cabin. Really impressed with the location- right off the blue ridge parkway and only 10min to blowing rock and boone. Very clean and incredible view.

Smiths getaway at what a view

We had an amazing 2 & 1/2 weeks in Blowing Rock. We loved the view and coziness of this property! It was very secluded in this amazing mountain neighborhood. We would definitely enjoy staying here again in the future!!!😁👍

Relaxing family getaway

Beautiful view and overall very comfortable home. We spent a lot of time outside on the deck! The location was ideal and we loved getting on the parkway coming and going. My young kids enjoyed all the toys in the loft. We hope to be back!

Mountain Getaway

The best part of the property was the spectacular view of the mountains from the porch. The property is also well equipped and comfortable. The location between Boone and Blowing Rock enables easy visits to both places. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others.

July 25th Vacation

The view was exactly as promised. The house was clean and had a lot of fun games to play with your family, It is very close to Blowing Rock and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would love to visit here again.

Beautiful View/Great Location

We loved that this home was located so close to Boone/Blowing Rock. The view is gorgeous! The only downside was having to bring all our own towels & linens - it can add a lot of additional time/energy when traveling with kids.

Bob is a native North Carolinian and Kathy transplanted from Pennsylvania long enough ago (1968) to claim NC as home. We live and work in Raleigh, but love all that this state has to offer. We escape in either direction - to the mountains and to the coast (check out our Ocracoke listing #1585907) every chance we can, but with two kids to put through college it's not often enough. So, until the day when we are free to move about the country, we would like to share our home away from home with like minded folks who appreciate taking time to relax and rejuvenate.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

Bob's family has a summer home on the same hill and he grew up coming here. So when this house became available we took the plunge. With two young children at the time, it may have been too early to think about retirement, but we always knew we would someday like to live in the mountains. What we got was a place our kids could be free to run out the door to play with the lifelong good friends they found on the hill.

Whether you are cozy on the couch, warming up around the fire pit, or rocking in the balcony chairs, you will enjoy a change of pace in these hills. Our place is one that gives people time to gain new perspectives and appreciate the nature around you.
