the house was very clean no complaints, everything restocked! the host was great, i loved that they were able to respond very quickly and they bright some extra stuff when i mentioned we were out of something! loved that it was only a 5 min walk to king street! we had lots of fun!

Fabulous historic house near King Street. This house was a beautiful home full of historic charm. Very comfortable and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. My only recommendation would be to provide shades that pull all the way down in the master bedroom. Everything else was perfect!! I highly recommend this property.

I normally don’t leave reviews but I did notice a few things about this VRBO compared to others I have rented. Parking is very difficult if you drive anything bigger than a Honda civic. It is achievable by doing 37, 3 point turns. I did have to climb out of the opposite car door because mine did not have enough space to open on the passenger side. The house is hot, especially the bedrooms. We even shut the bedroom doors at all times, which is recommended by the host. A/C will freeze up and does not work if set below 72, per host’s instructions. The only bathrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd stories. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything outside, especially other renters stumbling home from King St. at 2am. It appears that most if not all of the homes on the alley are rentals. The next door neighbors smoked pot on the front porch so we were hit with a lovely skunk smell whenever we opened the front door. But…. if you are looking for an older Charleston house in a decent location this is it. Beds are comfortable and the host supplies plenty of towels and tiny shampoos and such.

The house is very charming and large enough for the 5 of us to be comfortable. The interior is a little tired and could stand to be freshen up a little. That is the reason for not giving highest star rating, Besides that we enjoyed our stay. I would love to know the age and history of the house. I would book the house again and recommend it to othersParking is challenging if you drive a large suv but I managed. And the listing did state that the parking was tight,

This is a gem of a find! A perfect mix of affordability, location and charm. Just a block off King street with its fabulous shopping, dining, and entertainment, this is exactly the type of charming residence one hopes to experience in historic Charleston. It is well stocked with thoughtful touches in the kitchen and bathrooms. Incredibly clean, the colonial charm pervades this home while simultaneously offering modern comforts.

Great place for a weekend stay

This house was a great place for a weekend stay. The location was great, and we loved how much was in walking distance. The house was very clean upon arrival and check in process was seamless.

Overall Great

We had such a good time at this home when visiting Charleston for a birthday. Great location and super easy to walk to everything nearby. Overall would 10/10 recommend
