The Tower of look, ligger i utkanten av den medeltida staden Pratovecchio. Byggd av Conti Guidi i mitten av det elfte Ă„rhundradet., Är det första historiska byggnad lĂ€ngs de gamla murarna inringade staden Pratovecchio.
HÀr kan du tillbringa en hÀrlig vistelse nedsÀnkt i historien: efter en grundlig restaurering genomfördes i sjÀlva verket ett vackert fristÄende hus utrustade med alla bekvÀmligheter och luftkonditionering. Det medeltida tornet Àr pÄ tre vÄningar i ett omrÄde lÀngs terrass pÄ 100 kvadratmeter. TillgÄngen ligger pÄ 1: a nivÄ genom de typiska trÀtrappor (33 steg) och leder in i hallen utrustad med galgar och input i sovrummet (20 kvm) med majestÀtiska vÀggar skickligt byggda och restaurerade, utsmyckad med dekorationer som minns den feodala perioden. I varje vÀgg i eget rum finns de typiska slitsar med utsikt över floden Arno och trÀdgÄrden. Alla 'inne i rummet tillgÄng till en privat badrum (4 kvm), byggd i enlighet med de arkitektoniska former av strukturen och försedd med toalett, bidé, dusch och antik marmor diskbÀnk. Like stepping back in time!

The property is an incredible medieval tower in a tiny Tuscan town. There is a beautiful river right next to the tower - you can hear the water rushing by from the terrace on the roof. The terrace itself is an experience, breathtaking views from your own private hot tub. Feels like you're living in your own castle, it's an incredible experience! The tower is painted with murals of castles and landmarks in the valley. This tower has history, as well, the poet Dante may have lived in this tower during his exile! Monica is a great host, even had a meal ready for us when we arrived. This was delicious and much appreciated as most restaurants were closed on the day we arrived. A couple of things to be aware of since it is a real medieval tower. 1 - Stairs, there are lots of them. It's a climb to the first level from the street, then each level (Bedroom, Kitchen/Living, Terrace) is separated by a flight of steps. 2 - The town is very small and amenities are few, especially during the winter off season. There is a grocery store in town and Poppi, just a 10-15 minute drive away, does have all the key amenities with a great bakery/cafe and a gelateria. It is also not well connected to public transport, so a car is all but required. 3 - Before you arrive, take time to make sure you understand the energy consumption charges that are above and beyond the rate. Overall, it was an incredible stay and we would be happy to stay at one of Monica's properties again anytime.

Unique experience.

We had a great stay! The owners were very accommodating. We were greeted with a homemade meal made just for us - it was wonderful! The entire place was clean and efficient. We were a little confused about the location due to the photos. After further reading the description, we figured out the castle in the photos was the one close by that was available to tour. That being said, we really enjoyed this unique experience at such a reasonable price. Pratovecchio is such a quaint little town and everyone was so friendly. We would definitely recommend!

Romantic Adventure!

By far this is the best place I have ever stayed! This 1,000 year old medieval tower is pure love! Easy check in and easy communication with our hosts who welcomed us with flowers and homemade pasta! Yum! As you enter through the first door, a small garden courtyard welcomes you before you climb the stairs to your private entrance with views of the Arno River. Our hosts even helped us carry our bags! The second story of the tower is the bedroom fit for a king and queen and a bathroom that has everything you need, including bathrobes! The next floor is the kitchen and living room. We used the kitchen almost everyday and it had everything we needed. The stairs continue up to a loft with a comfy couch and a half bath, and a glass walkway above the living room! Continue further up the stairs to discover the amazing rooftop patio with 360 degree, panoramic views from the jacuzzi of two castles, the Arno River, and the town! Sunset colors in the sky as the church bells rang were a daily treat! Our wonderful hosts even provide lounge chairs, a sun umbrella, a BBQ kitchen with a sink and table on the roof! Since we were here during a meteor shower, we saw many shooting stars that just added to the magic! After the first night, we contacted our hosts about extending our stay and it was the best decision! We had a car that we parked right out front and were able to explore the local sights, and even took the train to Florence for the day! Each evening we walked a block to the town square to enjoy a drink from the local bar, Sandy's, who treated us like family! There is a walking or bike path along the river right outside your door that we also enjoyed often during our stay! We paid about 10 Euros a day for gas and electricity in April 2022. And used the Rooftop Jacuzzi every morning and again in the evening! Book this NOW!! You will have no regrets! My only regret is leaving!

I proprietari sono simpatici e disponibili, la struttura Ăš stupenda e molto accogliente, ideale per una vacanza romantica, visto che Ăš un luogo molto suggestivo, basta non aver paura di fare un po' di scale, visto che Ăš dislocata su tre piani piĂč terrazzo (sul tetto della torre) accessoriato con vasca idromassaggio, barbecue e solarium, una vera pacchia!

Es war ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub fĂŒr uns Beide. Das Ferienhaus (DER TURM) ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Eine sehr gutherzige Gastgeberin, versorgt ihre GĂ€ste fantastisch. Der Whirlpool und die dicken Mauern sorgen fĂŒr einen super Erholungsfaktor bei jedem Wetter. Die Dachterrasse lĂ€sst sich bis in die Nacht super benutzen und ist mit Liegen und Tisch und Beleuchtung bestens gerĂŒstet.

Wir haben uns soooo auf den Turm gefreut, waren vor vier Jahren schon einmal hier gewesen.

Doch dieses Mal war alles eine totale Katastrophe ! Der Turm war ĂŒberall total dreckig, sonst wĂ€re eine riesige Spinne hinter dem Kleiderschrank entfernt worden ! Es war zu Beginn eine einzige Toilettenpapierrolle da, es fehlten eine Geschirrtuch und Handtuch in der KĂŒche, wir mußten bei der Abfahrt ExtragebĂŒhren fĂŒr Gas, Strom und WLAN bezahlen, was wir nicht erwartet hatten. Und das Schlimmste: Von Anfang an krochen und flogen ĂŒberall kleine Insekten herum und platzierten sich auf alle Teile im Wohn- , KĂŒchen- und Badbereich. Nach einigen Recherchen stellten sich diese lebenden Tiere ( es gab ĂŒberall auch viele tote ) als Wanzen heraus !!! Wir hatten in der gesamten Zeit bestimmt 50-60 Tiere zu ertragen und zu jagen !!! Da es keine Bettwanzen waren, war das Ganze einfach "nur" eklig, zum Erschrecken, und wir haben viel Kraft daran gesetzt, möglichst alle zu entfernen. Bei Licht und WĂ€rme ( es war sehr kalt in der Woche ) sammelten sich die Tiere oben im oberen Raum bei der Lampe. Mit Stirnleuchte und Papier wurde gejagt....vielleicht hĂ€tten die Insekten ja von Monica und ihrem Team beseitigt werden können. Aber wer die vielen toten Tiere nicht sieht, geht auch nicht auf die Jagd....

Traumhaftes Italien

Nach ein paar Tagen in Florenz hat es uns fĂŒr eine Woche auf den Torre Medieval in Pratovecchio verschlagen. Wir wurden wĂ€rmstens von Monica empfangen und mit italienischen SpezialitĂ€ten begrĂŒĂŸt. Der Torre ist liebevoll eingerichtet und der Whirlpool auf dem Dach ist wirklich ein Highlight. Über den DĂ€chern des StĂ€dtchens ein Bad nehmen oder auf der Dachterasse sitzen und ein Glas Rotwein genießen, in den Sternenhimmel schauen - das war Urlaub pur. Pratovecchio ist ein reizendes StĂ€dtchen und in nur wenigen Schritten hat man den Marktplatz erreicht und kann in das italienische Alltagsleben eintauchen. Abseits vom Massentourismus kann man hier das italienische Dolce vita erleben, abschalten vom Alltag und herrlich entspannen. Kurz gesagt, wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Monica, mille grazie!

Medieval Dream Vacation! Perfection!!

Perfect introduction to the "real" Italy! My husband and I traveled to Italy to trace his family routes this past August 2014. First stop was Genoa (my advice is to skip it!) followed my Magioncalda (perfection and my husband's heritage) with the majority of our time being spent in Pratovecchia. What a hidden gem! If you are looking for someplace that has an unspoiled feel to it, Pratovecchia is it! LOVED every second of every day we spent there. The Tower is full of hidden treasures, from the wide plank wooden floors with "key" locks, to the hand painted scenery. Every spot you look there is something else to thrill and relax you at the same time. What can I say, I felt like a Princess for the entire time we stayed there! My husband called me Rapunzel the whole time as I have rather long blonde hair - a true storybook come to life. We spent many nights relaxing on the roof top spa listening to distant church bells chime the hour. On one side, the beautiful village and the other side, the mountains. Who could ask for more? Every morning we took the short stroll to the town square for coffee and fresh baked danish. Next was a stop to the butcher shop or the cheese store followed always by a walk to the bakery. Two things surprised us the most about Pratovecchia, first was the town square. Children playing, older women gossiping, old men playing cards, young lovers walking hand in hand. Pure magic! The second thing was the cost of everything was SO much cheaper then we had expected! What a great surprise!! We plan on returning in 2016, hopefully for two weeks instead of just one. Thank you Monica and Leonardo for making our stay nothing less than magical.

Perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday

The tower is really charminging and furbished with a lot of nice little details. The best thing about the tower is the roof top terrace where you can sit in the jacuzzi and enjoy "la dolce vita". On the roof top you even find an open air kitchen. The owners are really friendly and helpful. In the beginning they even brought us home made cake and lasagne. Overall it is the perfect location to enjoy and explore Tuscany - the tower is located off the beaten tracks in Pratovecchio but Firenze and Arezzo are really close by. Thank you very much for a perfect holiday!
