Beläget på en 25 hektar stor egendom med stora fönster med utsikt över paddockar prickade med känguruer. 12kms från Bowral, på Southern Highlands Wine Trail. En lugn och lugn tillflyktsort. Native ankor, Kookaburra, östra och Crimson Rosellas i överflöd. Reverse Cycled luftkonditionering och wi-fi ansluten. En underbar get away för antingen en helg eller längre vistelse. Denna lätta och luftiga ett sovrum stuga är en perfekt tillflyktsort från civilisationen och rörelsen. Lämna huvudvägar och gatubelysning långt bakom, vakna till paddocks av grönt och några känguruer att starta. Även om omvänd cykel luftkonditionering är tillgänglig finner vi att värmen från potten magen brand på vintern är oöverträffad. Två enkelsängar finns tillgängliga för extra gäster. Dessa skulle vara belägna på ena sidan av stugans generösa huvudsakliga vardagsrum. Ett urval av böcker, DVD-skivor och brädspel finns tillgängliga och gästerna uppmanas att utforska fastigheten och det omger. Under vintermånaderna tänds vi bål (på ett antal helger) och bjuder våra gäster att gå med på oss för en drink och nibbles runt dessa brasar.

Amazing stay in the Southern Highlands

We had a fantastic weekend, just wish we could have stayed longer. Fran and Ken were wonderful hosts, so helpful and accommodating. The cottage was really comfortable with everything we needed and the pictures in the listing didn’t do it justice. Our dog loved running around in the paddocks. We will definitely be back.

Tranquil stay

It's a tranquil peaceful stay with view of kangaroos (lots of them) and greenery while we sitting enjoying sip of wine in the backyard. Great location as really not far from centre of Berrima, Mittagong or Bowral. Don't miss out to order dinner from Mrs Monro - the owner of the property, it's delicious !!!

Lovely quiet cottage in a rural setting

A friend and I enjoyed our stay in the cottage at High Range. It was quiet, comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. Fran was very responsive to emails beforehand, and she and her husband provided a great introduction/overview of the cottage. Can highly recommend :)

Faultless!

From the outset Fran was the perfect host! She offered hints and tips on how to enjoy our time in the Highlands, responded immediately to any queries and - importantly for us (and very rare) - welcomed our fur babies openly and warmly. Accommodation is well appointed with everything you need, including a pot belly fire which kept the whole cottage cosy and warm. Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay, highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay with the nicest hosts you could imagine! They went above and beyond to assist and help us with our stay. This included giving us a lift and also creating the most delicious gelato as a treat on arrival. The cabin is beautiful and thoughtfully decorated and has everything you could possibly need. Enjoy the wildlife, the drive to the location and the great vineyards in the area. Thanks Fran and Ken!!

Fabulous Getaway

I was very much looking forward to seeing whether the description of the cottage and location as as good as it sounded....it was, and more! Right from the warm welcome by Fran and Ken, to the cozy wood burner with an ample stock of logs, kangaroos visits in the evening and morning and the bright night skies away from the haze of Sydney, this place is a real gem and the only disappointing thing about writing this is that I feel I should keep it as my secret!! The cottage has all the things I could want, was spotless and felt a million miles away from the daily grind. The thoughtful provision of milk, jams and condiments was as lovely touch. Huge thanks to Fran and Ken for such a great three days. I cant wait to visit again.

Pleasantly impressed

We had a wonderful stay albeit too short so hopefully we can return soon for a longer stay. The location was great. The cottage is quiet and styled perfectly. We had everything we needed plus more and impeccably clean. Our dog loved exploring the property too. The owners are really friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had great communication and suggestions for what to see and where to visit locally.

Beautiful rural retreat

The cottage was well appointed with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the wood fire warm and the views from the windows beautiful. Our host, Frances, was friendly and informative and we were made to feel welcome on our arrival with a home made fruit salad and some biscuits. There was also a selection of DVDs and games for our use. The kitchen was small, but functional, with a full size fridge and a microwave. The stove was limited to two hot plates and a toaster oven.

Peaceful Stay

We liked the country views from the large windows and the peace and quiet at Wombiombi cottage. With everything you want and only a few minutes away from Mittagong for anything else you may need. Fran and Ken were friendly hosts and their recommended Thai restaurant was excellent. Also, don’t forget some pies and desserts from the Gumnut Patisserie.

Perfect Getaway

Delightful cottage in a beautiful location with friendly and helpful hosts who went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect for our stay. The property was exceptionally clean and well presented and is the perfect location for exploring the surrounding highlands. We loved it!

Delightful country sojourn

Our family (and two fur babies) had a wonderful time at Fran’s property. The little touches - food in the fridge, plenty of books and games, and a gorgeous yard outside the cottage, made it a holiday to remember.

A very warm welcome and a peaceful stay!

After a warm and friendly welcome from Fran and Ken we were able to enjoy peace and quiet, the country surroundings and generally unwind and relax. Cottage was sparkling clean well appointed and private. Definitely will come back for another stay, highly recommended.

Cosy and Peaceful

Thankyou Fran and Ken for making us so welcome! The cottage catered to our every need. We loved watching the kangaroos from the deck where we cooked dinner on the barbie. Laki our Cavoodle adored the free range walks, and we all loved curling up by the fire after cold days out! An easy drive to Berrima, Bowral and Mittagong ! Just wonderful !

Frances (Fran) Monro är värd

I am the Customer Service Manager for an international swimwear company. Modern technology allows me to work from home, in a warehouse on a 25 acre property - just over an hour south of Sydney Airport and just under 2 hours from Canberra. I love to cook as well as spend hours on restoring/remodeling old furniture. Our children have left home, leaving what we used to call The Party Room (now Wombiombi Cottage) mostly empty and quiet. My husband has been re-foresting the property for the last 15 years so our native wildlife is returning in abundance. I maintain a vegetable garden which produces plenty of wonderful vegetables and delicious strawberries in summer and just a few less int he mid-winter months. We both love to entertain and as we have family and friends dotted around the world (who regularly visit), it's a constant in our lives.

Varför värden valde detta boende

Having decided to move from Sydney to enable our children to grow up in the country as I had done, we came across this property with it's winding driveway which gently slopes down and away from Wombeyan Caves Road, through a stand of native gums/eucalyptus. The distance from the road and the bush frontage blocks works brilliantly in blocking any road noise. Sleep is very peaceful!
