Our family house was custom built, and with loving attention to upkeep and upgrades, is new all the time. Beach Parfait is perfect for our family, and we're sure you will love it, too.
Parfait means perfect in French, and you will see French and Gullah influences in the decor and art. One of our dear family friends is a French artist from Provence. We love displaying her work, as well as other original works.
We are a bi-coastal family, and Beach Parfait is the go-to place for us and our friends to reconnect. Here we have celebrated weddings (daughter Carolyn was married on the beach at the end of our street), birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, college reunions, new babies, you name it. Our family now includes four grandchildren, and we enjoy taking them to the beach, pool, and playground, riding scooters and bikes, playing bocce and cornhole in the large side yard, and building memories. Ellie, the oldest, even made up a song for the long, long ride from her house to Beach Parfait (two hours, but to her it seems to take an eternity to get there!).
The third floor great room is our gathering place. We all like to cook, and the kitchen is well-equipped. We look forward to steamer pots and fish on the grill as we drive to the beach. Check out the wave pattern in the backsplash tile, and pieces of beach glass embedded in the recycled quartz countertops.
We are all about comfort, and have paid special attention to the quality of lighting, beds and seating. We recently added a pergola on the ocean side deck, and it is another great gathering place. Cozy up on the massive sectional sofa for games or streaming TV.
We love to travel to foreign destinations, but what we love best is to come home to Beach Parfait. We hope you will come home to Beach Parfait, too.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
We have played and raised our families on the Northern Beaches since the 1960's, and had building lots in both the Whalehead community and up in the 4WD country. We purchased our lot in the community of Corolla Light when the first sales sign went up, mainly because of the planned amenities and security of a gated community. The Resort was designed to provide a first class experience from the very beginning. We think it's the same with our house -- the comfort and interiors of a five-star hotel with all the necessities, (without all the tacky beach decor). Corolla Light was at the end of the earth back then, and you still get that feeling of relaxation, although now we have all the modern conveniences. There is free wireless internet, Netflix and Hulu to catch the big game, or a movie, top of the line large capacity washer and dryer, dishwasher and disposer, a Keurig, a double carafe drip coffeemaker, AND a French press , a slow cooker, a food processor, a Vita Mix, a seafood steamer, hot tub, outdoor shower, top-rated Weber gas grill, original art, and plenty of outdoor seating. Shaded by the pergola on the ocean side, the large wraparound deck is the perfect place to have your morning coffee while listening to the waves crash on the beach, and the screened porch is great for al fresco dining. A large native oak tree is just off the porch, so it feels as if you're dining in a tree house! I love listening to the Carolina mockingbirds who nest in a tree across the street.
We are not absentee owners. Since the '60's, we have spent lots of time on the Outer Banks, and made lots of memories here as our children grew up, and had children of their own. We use the house ourselves, don't lock everything away, and work hard at keeping it in tip top shape.
It's important for you to know that our caretakers are experienced locals just a phone call away, should you need anything at all.
We are not absentee owners. Since the '60's, we have spent lots of time on the Outer Banks, and made lots of memories here as our children grew up, and had children of their own. We use the house ourselves, don't lock everything away, and work hard at keeping it in tip top shape.
It's important for you to know that our caretakers are experienced locals just a phone call away, should you need anything at all.

Visit historic Whalehead Club, a private home on the National Register, and say hello to the antique twin beds we donated, which were in our family for decades and just the right style that would have been in the home during its heyday as a private hunting lodge in the early 1900's.
Enjoy the splendid NC Center for Wildlife Education, or the new Boat Museum, stroll quaint Corolla Village (say "YES!" to some BBQ made and sold from the old Corolla Post Office), climb Currituck Lighthouse for amazing views, take long ride bikes on a paved trail paralleling Hwy 12 , or walk for miles and miles on the most pristine beaches of the Outer Banks. Stop by our popular Corolla village public library to make a copy, or send a fax. Check out their selection of great used books. There are lots of fun shops to explore in Corolla Village, and a wonderful Chapel with uplifting services and a mission to serve the young people who come from overseas to work in our stores and restaurants in the summertime. Go off-road to Carova, the northernmost Carolina beaches, and see the amazing wild horses in their natural habitat. Kayak on the sound or the canals. Birders will love the sanctuary.
Play golf at the Currituck Club, pickleball and tennis at Corolla Light's courts.
