Vår lägenhet ligger i Bldg 25, # 2253 på 'Malibu Row', som ägarna kallar det ... eftersom alla vill leva med fri utsikt över blått och vitt vatten och solnedgångar från våra lanais. Lyssna på strandens surf runt den berömda Kaliaka Rock (där Dole Pineapple Company skulle släppa sina skördade ananas på de utgående pråmarna innan kajen byggdes på östra änden av Molokai). Koppla av vid den lugna poolen som ligger bara några steg bort. Med tanke på att detta är ett tropiskt område, var medveten om att det finns insekter, vilda kalkoner etc. För en lugn bortflykt från den världs gamla Hawaii väntar dig. Ingen trafik, med ett trafikljus på ön. Titta på vågorna på din strandfront Lanai (cirka 100 meter) och de vackra solnedgångarna på natten med den mjuka glöd av Honolulu-lampor i fjärran. Över ser Kaluakoi golfbana. En fem minuters promenad tar dig till den berömda tre mil stranden i Papohaku Park, och resort poolen ligger bara några meter bort. Gå till stranden där bara dina fotspår finns kvar. Sedan surfar det alltid på östra änden av West Molokai Resort privata strand. Vandrings- och cykelleder finns runt orten, och ridning ligger i anslutning till fastigheten. Och för golfare finns det en golfbana på norra änden av ön. Våra övervåningen Condo (med en king size master-säng och en queen size-bäddsoffa) ger dig en fantastisk övergripande utsikt över det vita och blå vattnet i havet, och integritet med en Lanai där du kan äta och titta på din soluppgång och solnedgång med underbara utsikt över Diamond Head. Och om du planerar på ett bröllop kan du ha en vacker, minnesvärd fest på vår vita sandstrand, som andra älskare gör, med Diamond Head på Oahu i bakgrunden, liggande bortom våra azurblå vatten. Detta är en nyligen renoverad hyra inklusive möbler etc. Snälla rökning, inga husdjur, utom registrerade ögonhundar. Incheckning är efter 16:00 och utcheckning är klockan 10:00. AED ligger längst ner i trappan för HLR-behov. Färjetrafiken från Maui avslutades på grund av mer begränsade direktflyg till ön. Hawaiian Airlines 'Ohana (www. Hawaiianairlines. Com} erbjuder daglig service till turboprop med 48 passagerare från Honolulu, Mauis Kahului flygplats och Lanai, medan Mokulele Airlines (www. Mokuleleairlines. Com) och Makani Kai Air (www. Makanikaiair. Com) erbjuder daglig service från Honolulu på turboprop med nio passagerare. Molokai chill

This is our third stay on Molokai and the second time in this condo. Molokai is a great place to just chill out. Great walking paths and beautiful views.

Excellent holiday spot

We really enjoyed staying at Dana’s place on Molokai! The views from the condo were amazing and the sound of the ocean at night led to excellent sleeps. The pool is close by as is the beach. It is a quiet complex great for a low key get away, far from the crowds of Maui and the other more developed islands. We will be back!

The condo was great. Beautiful view from the deck. Condo was clean and had everything you need. Thanks so much! We had a wonderful couple weeks. Also we caught a Marlin on this trip with Captain T Charters (Tim) Just an awesome place to rest and have fun!

It’s all about the view

The view makes the place. The building had not been cleaned properly in some time. The sliding door failed during the week leading to mosquitoes that attacked my wife with a vengeance. Fortunately they didn’t like me. Fix the door and clean up the place and you’ve got yourself a true gem!

Super Oceanfront Studio with Loft in need of TLC

The reality of this place is it's a gem, but in a state of disrepair. Nothing can compare to the spectacular view of ocean waves breaking on volcanic beach just 50 yards away, and the sound of it pounding in the night. Incredible. But the place is weathering away--so much is rusting, the screens have holes, window louvers don't open anymore, and a film of red dust is pervasive, blown by wind and weather. If you can deal with OK clean, unusable worn Teflon pans, a sink that drips, a rusting electrical panel, and the feeling of accumulated salt spray on everything, it's just fine.

I'm sorry that you were not feeling comfortable with the sea air and the island's red dust by having unobstructed views of the ocean. Molokai is a small island with limited workers. We are waiting for the screens to be replaced, but there are only two handymen on the island to do all repairs and maintenance. The pans were already on back order and now have arrived, even though you were the only visitor to complain. The driping sink is finally being repaired this week by one of the handymen. And, no I will not tell the handymen that they should jump at our beck and call. Their calendars are tight with scheduling.

Modest but Comfortable

As others have said, this may not be the place for everyone. It is not fancy and there are some things which could stand repair, but it was well equipped and comfortable. We visited in February so I cannot comment on how hot it could be in summer but it is well ventilated. The loft area is a bit tight, so we kept our luggage downstairs. The bed was comfortable. The view is beautiful, was perfect for me working remotely. We loved the lack of crowds, seeing only a handful of people on both the beach in front and three mile beach just down the road. I will say the documentation provided both through VRBO and the binder on site could stand updating - some of the travel/sightseeing information is outdated and there were three different sets of instructions for connecting to wifi, it was a struggle to find the current info. However Dana was prompt in getting back to me when I messaged her for the current wifi password. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay :)

Nice ocean views

This rental has great ocean views. Nice trails for walking. Great beaches. The minus is that this entire property is pretty run down. Several condo buildings are boarded up and in very poor condition with Keep Out signs on them. I think the cleaning fee is steep considering I had to wash the floors as our feet ended up filthy. If I could attach a photo of the rag I used, I would, eek. Dishes and blender, toaster were dirty. Foul smell coming from the garbage disposal. Only one roll of toilet paper. Just being an honest reviewer. I’m sure at some point in the past these condos had the “Malibu Row” feel. Not so much now. This might not bother someone else. Based on what I read, I expected a bit more.

We are very surprised at your review of our condo, since you never contacted us with your needs or complaints. Our resort is not run down. The condo buildings you spoke of on the other side of our entrance's main road are closed and do not belong to our resort. Consequently these are out of our resort's control. They belong to an Asian corporation that has not had the resources to refurbish that area. They have told our resort mgmt. that they are looking toward upgrading them next year. Our cleaning lady, Julie is one of the best on the island and we are very appreciative of her diligent effort in keeping the ocean front condos clean of the ocean spray and dust from the tropical winds. Your reservation was a very late notice, and being a holiday she cleaned, refreshed/restocked amenities and mopped our condo the day before, so she could spend time with her family on Thanksgiving. Perhaps the holiday stressed you out. I have talked to Julie about your review and she said you never called her with any needs or complaints, even though you had her phone number (as well as mine) for any concerns or questions. This is very strange. Why didn't you call her or me? We can not help you if you don't notify us immediately.

I believe we have rented from Dana and Rich many years ago and have not had a problem. However, this time around, their cleaners failed to clean the unit after the last people stayed. There was mildew in the tub and dishes out in the counter and bed in disarray. Needless to say, the unit was not suitable to stay. (Luckily we had friends staying in the area.) Since Molokai reception is spotty it took a day to communicate with Dana and another day for her to get a cleaner to clean the unit. (We were only there for 3 days). She notified us that the unit was cleaned; then we could not enter the unit due to the door being locked. She then blamed us for being “locked out” and refused to refund even part of our stay. It’s unfortunate that she would treat anyone in this manner and feel it was ok to have guest stay in an uncleared unit.

Nothing Luxurious

We live in Hawaii and have spent time on most of the islands but this was our first visit to Molokai. Overall, it was a very nice, quiet place to visit. It is very different from the other islands - very country. We were quite disappointed in the condo. We felt the listing was misleading. There is nothing at all luxurious about it. It seems to not have had any updating in years. The carpet was stained, show curtain moldy, and towels ragged. While it is true that the unit is fairly close to the beach and has a nice view, you have to look past the abandoned golf course and club house. I found it depressing to have such a mess featured so prominently in our view. It is unfortunate for the owners to be stuck with this situation. They have a nice little community that is surrounded by the abandoned golf course and hotel. The hotel buildings are literally falling apart. We pretty much had everything we needed in the unit (towels, beach chairs, kitchen items, etc) but really could have used a fan. It was quite hot last week and the one ceiling fan did not do much to bring relief. I recommend supplying a portable fan that could be used in the loft.

New family room furnishings last year and the expensive white carpeting replaced with bamboo flooring, which took 3 months to receive and install on the first floor. And, with a Tommy Bahama's bed spread and new matching towels, this condo is much desired. While the golf course is being considered to be re-opened by the owners, golfing is available at the other course near Kaunakakai. A review was sent by the previous, returning renter saying "Thanks Dana, the place was awesome as usual!"...Steve.

It's all about the view, or is it?

After an 8 year hiatus, we returned to Molokai to visit friends. While we can sympathize with owners and their headaches of owning a property battered by wind and salt spray, (we owned two neighboring condos and have rented other units in this area) we were shocked to find this unit in such disrepair and dismayed that we had not taken the reviews more seriously. First of all, the condo had not been cleaned from the previous renters when we arrived at check-in which set the tone for our two week stay. You want to believe that the housekeeper actually spends more than just an hour or two cleaning up after the last occupants, but clearly she does not because we had to wait until she did. (We were reimbursed $100 for our inconvenience.) There are dusty cases of bamboo flooring under the bed (per Dana's 2015 comment when it was installed); 12yo magazines; a non-functioning smoke detector; used stuff in the medicine cabinet & frig; and a useless, outdated information book. And can we discuss those infamous lanai doors that have needed repair since 2018? (per Stuart's comment) Or the broken louvre handles, the chipped paint... We expect a high degree of hospitality when we travel such as good quality kitchen equipment, up-to-date entertainment systems and plenty of good linens, not to mention a clean and well maintained unit. And to call someone every time something breaks just isn't our style. Unfortunately we will not rent this unit again, even though it has a good view.

Out of the way

A nice property although out of the way. As the description says, it is on a resort that used to be a golf course. Room itself is very nice, close enough to the beach that you could hear the waves from bed.

Great sea view and sunsets right on the beach.

Overall very nice if you are looking for a peaceful beach experience without the crowds. Very comfortable accommodations except no A/C. It was a bit warm some afternoons but nice breeze kept it cool enough. I would definitely rent it again.

Rich and Dana's beach condo

Nice beachfront condo - great deck for whalewatching, etc. Quiet neighbors. All the amenities. The landline phone was beeping so we unplugged it. The Wifi password didn't work for us, so I tried texting the owners but got no help. Another issue was finding the condo. We arrived after dark with no map of the condo resort area, and no building number. Luckily we were able to contact the housekeeper and a neighbor who helped us find the condo. In retrospect these were minor issues in comparison to the unforgettable beach scene, the sounds of surf, the birdsong and butterfiies, and miles of beautiful beaches to explore.

Island paradise

Great location. Second time staying here in this area. This condo has a better location and overall better condition. Could still use a little maintenance, i.e. fix screens, upstairs TV does not appear to work, and there is a hodgepodge of kitchen utensils but they are adequate, nothing for baking. Condo association rules appear to need updating as it is evident that pets are allowed as we saw several dogs, and some smoking outside. But overall a great place to stay.

Room with a view

The highlight of this unit is definitely the view over Hepuhi beach! Overall the space was comfortable for the 2 of us staying, my friend on the sofa bed and me in the loft. The doors to the lanai were difficult to move from being weathered. The heavy screen door fell off the track and the glass doors we couldn’t really close easily. The burners on the stove top are quite crooked and need some adjustment. Overall it is a comfortable space with a wonderful view! Thank you for sharing it!

If you imagine the ideal condo on Kepuhi beach, this is it! Nothing between you and the water. Pool and store close by. Condo has everything you need. Easy check-in and gracious hosts. We will be back.

Great getaway!

Location is perfect! Beautiful view. Wifi worked perfectly. Bed was comfy. It was hot during our stay, very muggy. Very. Not the owner’s fault of course! But, there was a floor fan that we’d lug downstairs then upstairs for sleeping. Two would be nice. But no complaints ! We’d stay again !

Beautiful view front row Kepuhi

I loved my stay. The view was perfect, condo comfortable, clean, and well supplied with all the comforts of home. The cross breeze was great for keeping cool, the pool and grounds gorgeous, and surrounding beaches and hikes were very stunning. Enjoyed having more time on the west end, as I usually stay near Kaunakakai. Thank you for such a great stay.

Relaxing piece of laid back paradise

We had a fantastic time at Rich and Dana's condo. Molokai, and probably this condo, isn't right for everyone, but it was perfect for us. This was our 6th trip to Hawaii in the last 20 years. We've been to Oahu, Kauai twice, Maui, and the Big Island. We've stayed in condos, guest houses, bungalows and hotels. This one was probably the most dated and had the most maintenance issues...but it was also our favorite. Location: You can't beat this. Right on the ocean, sound of the waves all night, very quiet, laid back area. Yep, there's a boarded up old pro shop right in front of the Lanai. Doesn't block your view though, and it's not ugly. The abandoned golf course has wonderful hiking/running trails. We don't play golf, so that was perfect. There are some boarded up empty buildings on the property, but the grounds of the occupied condos are immaculately maintained. You have a perfect view of the sunset, but it is tough to choose between that or watching the whales. We saw whales from the Lanai more times than we could possibly count. I'll bring a spotting scope next time. Condo: It was probably built in the late 70s/early 80s, so it's not new, and there are some minor things, but it was extremely clean and there were absolutely no bugs. The wifi worked great, use the password on the fridge. I don't know if the TVs work, we never turned them on. Had full 4G LTE AT&T coverage anyways, enough to check email and make all my Facebook friends jealous with photos. One reviewer mentioned the rusty sub-panel. I'm not an electrician but I do all my own electrical work on the farm. It's just a cover plate, and it appears to function just fine. If it was an issue the power would just shut off, not start a fire. The infamous patio door: It would take a finish carpenter to make this repair, but I found a solution. When you arrive get a six pack of Kona Long Board Lager. When you get to the condo, open one, but keep the bottle cap. Walk out on the lanai, turn around, close both screen doors. There's a slight gap at the top. Just fold the bottle cap in half, use it to prop up the right corner of the right door, which doesn't slide easily. Turn around, sit down, drink your delicious Long Board Lager, and enjoy the view. Just use the other door for the rest of your trip. If it still bothers you, have another. If you drink all six and it still bothers you probably picked the wrong island for your vacation.
