Loved the little cabin. The friendly deer that visited every morning and evening were amazing to see. Such a cute little back road property! Would come again! Thanks for letting us stay!

It's our first time staying here and we really enjoyed it. Everyday, we were seeing deer morning, sometimes early afternoon and then towards evening. I heard sandhill cranes and wild turkeys, there's a little Carolina wren doing its best to figure out how to get inside. Our little dog Sammy was having a blast outside being able to be in the yard and not be tied up. We always had to make sure that the deer weren't out there before we went outside though, I wasn't sure if he would be smart enough to come back or not! Thanks for your kindness while we were there.

This property was absolutely gorgeous. The deer were beautiful, the river was soothing, and all of the troubles of civilization disappeared. The host was great and very responsive. Everything was clean and the kids had a great time being kids. Would absolutely recommend. If there was one downside, it was the odor of the water, but being that far out and dependant on well water was unavoidable. We look forward to staying again!

The cabin was spotless. Kitchen was fully stocked for any kind of cooking. We had a couple of minor issues but Jamie replied right away and got them addressed.Arcadia is a quaint old town. We had dinner at some really good restaurants - Brothers Fish House and Slim's BBQ were awesome! Got some home baked goods from the mennonite ladies at Martin's Conmuntry Store too.Some things for other renters to be aware of: 1 - The cabin is on a pretty long dirt road. It wasn't an issue for us because we live on a 1/2 mile dirt road but I know some people freak out over driving their cars on dirt roads. 2- the cabin is not right on the river. The property goes down to the river but the river is not visible from the cabin. Again, not an issue, just something to be aware of.My only recommendations to the owners are: 1- it was raining when we got home one evening. The mat at the front door was wet and there is no mat inside the door to wipe your feet on. 2- the mosquitoes are just starting to get thick. All of the outdoor furniture was outside the screen. We moved some inside. You might want to consider leaving some of it inside the screened area except during the winter when mosquitoes are sparse.Thanks for sharing your little slice of country with us!

We’re so glad you enjoyed the cabin, the kitchen setup, and that everything was clean and ready for your stay. It means a lot to hear that, and I’m happy to report the water pump is now brand new. It sounds like you made the most of Arcadia too. Brothers Fish House and Slim’s BBQ are definitely local favorites, and Martin’s Country Store is such a hidden gem. I’m glad you got to experience all of that. Thank you as well for pointing out the details about the dirt road and the river access. That kind of feedback is really helpful for future guests so they know exactly what to expect. We truly appreciate your suggestions. Adding an indoor mat is a great idea, especially for rainy days, we will do that. We also agree on the outdoor furniture and mosquitoes. We’ll be adjusting the setup so guests can enjoy the screened area more comfortably. Thanks again for staying with us. We’d love to host you anytime you’re back in the area!
