Well-located and functional condo

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spent one month with my family in this unit and overall, was very pleased with our stay. The location is excellent, short walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants in Waikiki, while located on a low traffic street. Morning sunrise views of Ala Wai canal were gorgeous. The furniture and fixtures in the apartment are a bit dated, but everything was clean and functional. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and utensils. Very convenient to have dishwasher and washer/dryer in the unit, as well as a reserved parking space. Needs more more lighting, especially in the living room and at the dining table. Street noise is quite loud due to the location and louvered windows, but it’s to be expected given the location. A/C is noisy. Had a few issues with the ongoing construction in the building, but was very satisfied with the quick response from property management to make things right. Very nice rooftop with 360 views and swimming pool, and plenty of seating and BBQ facilities. Overall, we had a really nice visit and would stay here again!

Noisy - Needs Repairs/Updating

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ok size but in need of upgraded windows (slate glass does not mitigate street noise and howling wind sounds like a howling ghost) - need replacing with updated windows. Family room glass sliding door is one opening away from falling out of its tracks and crashing to pieces - needs to be replaced. Dryer vented onto counter, now venting behind dryer onto the floor - needs a lint capture receptacle. One washlet was broken and the other one did not work adequately. Wall A/C very loud - need quieter Split Air units. Nice digital lock for main door. TV in bedroom worked sometimes. Parking space was adequate but drive up to space (six levels) was daunting as people double parked in the floor transition space making turning very difficult - a lot of evidence of cars hitting the wall trying to make turn. Location along canal was extremely noisy due to non stop EMS vehicles and traffic. Nice view of Manoa Valley, Canal, and partial view of Diamond Head. Won't stay here again due to noise level.

Convenient and comfortable

Covered parking is convenient. However, it’s stressful parking the way garage is built. Easy to communicate with Jim Wickard the property manager. All in all a pleasant stay. Will recommend.

Pleasant comfortable and clean.

Enjoyed our 10 day stay. Close to all amenities including beach. Ironing board cover would be useful as well as Small stick vacuum cleaner . Traffic noise from ala wai boulevard intrudes. Overall apartment very comfortable.

Quaint and convenient...

Condo was as depicted in photos. Taking a closer look, though, there were some minor maintenance/cosmetic issues but nothing that impacted our stay there. This condo is showing it’s age. Cracked bath tub tiles are more than likely allowing water to flow behind them. Caulking tape around tub serves no useful purpose. It is loose and detached at some location and does nothing to block out water entry. Looks tacky too. Would highly recommend adding additional slip prevention to bottom of tubs. A bit dicey when trying to take a shower. Stove is functional but pretty beat up. Broken storage drawers at bottom of stove. Refrigerator was pretty load when it turned on. A shelf in kitchen cabinets is falling down. Second bedroom a/c unit was a little iffy. Now all this sounds bad but let me reiterate that though this is not resort style living it is still far from a “bed bug inn” type of accommodation. Parking was interesting. Getting to our spot was like driving an obstacle course. But doable. The price was right and location was centralized making Waikiki very walkable. Amenities were abundant. Even had a small dinner gathering second day there. Lots of dishes, pots and pans, towels and start up accessories. Would I do it again? You bet! Thanks for the stay.

Waikiki - Wonderful

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for 7 nights from Sep 24, 2018. We were met by the manager at the car park entrance after phoning in from the airport as had been arranged. After negotiating 6 levels of the car park to our spot we then met at the lifts and escorted to the apartment for a detailed inspection and instructions which was 1st class. The place is a 2 bedroom / bathroom with a more than adequate kitchen and living area. My only concern was that we found the double bed on the small size. It was by far the smallest we had during our 3 week stay on the islands. The 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds. The wi-fi was strong and excellent so we were able to keep in touch with family, friends and business colleagues. 1217 is right at the end of the building. This gives you 2 views. One from the bedroom overlooks the golf course and canal and up into the hills above. The number of properties in the hills have certainly grown since our last visit. The other view from the 2nd bedroom and living room looks diagonally to the canal and golf course and you can see the back end of Diamond Head. You get some lovely sun rises when sitting on the ample balcony that was stocked with comfy chairs and tables. Level 12 is about 1 level higher than the apartments opposite. Where we come it is interesting to view apartment life and was no big deal. There are manual wind up shutters if you wish to lower them for privacy or to block that early morning sun. We enjoyed those sun rises. I enjoyed the washlets and want to get one installed at home! The apartment is only 2-3 blocks away from the beach. The main shops,eateries and restaurants are also within easy walking distance. There is a supermarket about 100 metres down the street that we used to stock up with our supplies. This is a very self-contained apartment. We enjoyed our stay immensely and we would aim to get #1217 if we came back.

August 2018 Stay

We had a great stay. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice balcony with a beautiful view. 5 min walk to waikiki beach. Grat roof Garden with Pool and an amazing view over oahu. James was very helpful.

Great Rental Experience!! Excellent location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience was excellent. They had already addressed and solved the water issue on the balcony mentioned in previous reviews. Condition of the condo and furniture were great. Everything worked as expected, with no issues whatsoever. Location was excellent with a grocery store, food trucks, mall and restaurants nearby.Originally, I was unsure of the distance from the beach, if that would be an issues, however, we found that the beach was really only a short walk. If you have little ones without a stroller it could be a challenge as you will need to cross two major busy streets; not my situation with teenagers, who went to the beach on their own with no issues.We utilized the AC unit at night cause my wife likes it cold for sleeping. During the mornings and daytime there was always cool breezes, so we opened the windows to enjoy them.Having a parking space was key since we wanted to explore the island and gave us the flexibility to come and go on our own schedule. But for exploring Waikiki we walked, which was wonderful, with all the shops and restaurants and shopping malls all very close by.

Our stay on Oahu

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed from Sunday to Saturday, and this place was perfect for our needs as we were traveling with 2 teenagers who each needed a bed. The property was very clean and the views were beautiful. We were a little caught off guard by the lack of central A/C being from the hot and humid south, but we ran the heck out of the individual units in each bedroom and living area and they kept the place perfectly comfortable. Yes, some water puddled slightly on the balcony, but we adjust one drip pan which helped. It wasn't something we found to be a concern. James, the property manager, met us as we arrived and gave us a rundown of everything and how it all worked. My kids were fascinated by the digital lock on the door. The location is within walking distance to Waikiki beach and plenty of shopping (everything from cheap souvenirs to Saks Fifth Avenue at the mall) and dining (from fast food to upscale). We took full advantage of the Food Pantry on the corner both for groceries and for quick takeout. There is a Walmart withing a short driving distance too. Everything we needed was there in the condo from cleaning (though I didn't find the dustpan until it was too late) to cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
