En klassisk Maine semester destination! Ernest Thompson stannade på Long Pond när du skriver hans 1979 spela "On Golden Pond". Vi finns på den södra stranden av denna berömda sjön, och du kan ta i en av de trevligaste synpunkter på sjön från vår stora slutna skärm veranda. Denna stuga har ett stort sovrum med tillhörande halv-bad, en sjö sovrum med en king size-säng som kan omvandlas till två enkelsängar, och en dra ut drottning bäddsoffa för en extra gäst eller barn. Varje aspekt av denna stuga har konstruerats och byggts för att skapa ett unikt utseende och känsla som inte är lätt att hitta. Vår fastighet ligger i ett lugnt läge borta från alla trafikerade vägar, men ändå nära till den pittoreska semester städerna Belgrade Lakes och Mt. Vernon, där stor restauranger och shopping finns. Belgrad sjöar är kända för sin kvalitet fiske och orörda vatten, perfekt för kajakpaddling eller segling. Vi erbjuder fina bad, egen brygga och badbrygga, och naturligtvis Wi-Fi.

A "camp" in the best sense of the word in Maine. Right on the water so the light changes from morning to night. Easy to get to, easy to visit the surrounding lakes, towns, and adventures. Great care has been given to maintaining the property. Highly recommended.

Maine Getaway

We had a wonderful week. The cabin is centrally located for day trips and yet remote and peaceful. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee. We'd be happy to stay again.

The cottage is very cozy and enough room for a family of five. Kids had fun fishing and swimming off the dock. View of Long Pond from porch is amazing. Great place for family memories.

We had such a wonderful stay here! Beautiful water views from the screened in deck, comfy beds with EXCELLENT linens, a bedroom with water views and skylights! It was so quiet and serene. And then there were the loons calling! It was even warm enough for a couple of quick swims.We can't wait to come back! While you're there, make sure to check out Day's Country store in nearby Belgrade Lakes. Great food with lovely cafe attached overlooking the water.And the folks in Maine are SO NICE!

Great week of fishing and quiet

Quintessential Maine cottage by the lake! Quiet and peaceful. Fishing was good, and sitting on the dock listening to the loons is the best. Cottage was well equipped and instructions were clear. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful spot on long pond. Crystal clear water, dock, fire pit. Very sweet indoors and a fabulous screened porch !Rented canoe from Webb and sons - they were very prompt and nice quality.Enjoyed dinner at Sadie’s - open Friday and Saturday during season. We fished a bit, enjoyed the Farmington fair and found a beautiful hike at French Mountain trail near Rome. Beautiful view from the top!

So peaceful, quiet, serene. Beautiful spot. Gas stove not working, screen door needs fixing, could use new sheets and new kitchen sink stopper.

Hi I just saw the review, thank you for bringing this to our attention. By gas stove I think you mean gas grill? It may have run out of propane during your stay I'm sorry about that if so we do our best to keep up on it and did have extras there. The screen was damaged by a dog before your arrival, it has been fixed. Sheets must all be washed on site due to our remote location, its a top load washer and it's not easy on the fabric but I can assure you they were clean, however, at the end of the season some things take more of a beating than others. Thank you for your feedback and hope these issues did not detract from your stay. Scott

Best Cabin in Maine!

We are a retired couple in our early 70's and have stayed at this cabin every year for the last 12 years. You can't beat the remote location and wonderful view. The cabin is straight out of an LL Bean ad, and about as close to the water as you can get. We normally come in spring and fall to kayak and enjoy the view from the awesome screen deck. Scott is a great host and always responds immediately.

Peace and quiet

The cabin was like something out of an LL Bean Catalog. So many decorative things to look at. So comfortable, clean and cozy. Sitting on the beautuful porch, listening to the loons, will lower your blood pressure for sure. Hopefully will get the chance to rent again. Was sad to leave.

Peaceful getaway

Cabin was wonderful! We ate all our meals on the screen porch. Loved hearing the loons at night. We enjoyed cruising and fishing on our boat (caught a couple large mouth bass). Spent a lot of time relaxing in the water on our tubes and swimming to the platform. Water temperature was perfect! Scott was a great host, always prompt with his response’s. Our pup loved the cabin too, he liked sitting on the dock with us and taking walks. In just a couple days into our stay we knew we wanted to return next year. ( already booked it 😊) I definitely recommend!!

Sunrise Dock

The house and property were great for our family of five with three young kids. There is another house next door but you still feel secluded. The house was well appointed with all the amenities. The lake was clear and warm by our standards and swimming was a delight. We paddle-boarded across to the small inhabited island for fun. We could have had a rental motor boat delivered right to the dock but opted for paddles. Best of all, the dock is perfectly situated to catch early morning sunrises.

Total Relaxation

I was thrilled with a recent stay here. The cabin was lovely, well stocked, comfortable and as described. Wifi was strong. I swam nearly every day and while the water was brisk- it wasn't too cold. We rented boats and had them delivered to the dock. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water. The area is quaint and friendly with charming nearby communities to visit on days when the water is too rough to enjoy. The Apple Pie shed was a real prize! Their apple cider donuts are incredible and they have plenty of ready to prepare foods including vegan options. Reds Eats and Boothbay were an excellent day trip! If you are a lover of the outdoors you will appreciate the large screened in porch, the beautiful lake and the loons. I hope to return!

Loved this Cabin

Having never been to the Long Pond/Mount Vernon area I was going on just how beautiful the cabin was by it's pictures. The cabin is wonderfully decorated and I spent a lot of time just admiring all the details. Like other reviewers have written, the screened in porch was by far my favorite place to sit and enjoy the view. Our 10 yr old Labrador was so in love with it, she would go and lay out there without us! My families favorite activity was sitting and swimming off the dock. The house is in a great location and the pond is clean and quiet. My two boys enjoyed catching fish right from the dock and even trying while they were swimming as well. The only thing that would have made this vacation perfect would have been to rent a boat or kayaks. I would recommend doing that to fully enjoy the water. Augusta is a short drive away, where all your shopping needs are pretty much met. We will definitely be back! Thanks Scott for providing such a beautiful place to stay.

My favorite spot at our cottage is the screen deck too, and our dogs love it as well! I appreciate your kind feedback and am looking forward to a few days myself on beautiful Long Pond this fall when the leaves are blazing on the lake shore and surrounding hills. Can't wait!

My husband and I and our 20 year old son spent a week at Scott’s wonderful camp on Long Pond. This is the fourth summer we have rented a place in Mt. Vernon, but our first staying at the ‘Red Camp’. We loved everything about it and had a great time in the water despite unseasonably cool weather for late June. The lake is clear and clean, and deep off the end of the dock. The screened in porch is absolutely perfectly comfortable. We spent most of our time reading, looking at the lake, and watching out for the loons and blue heron that passed by daily, and working on puzzles. The attention to detail, and thoughtfulness put into the restoration and atmosphere at Scott’s place is really exceptional. It’s hard to find an authentic feeling Maine lakeside camp as clean and welcoming that also has the amenities that this one does. Kayaks were easy to rent from Castle Island Camps, and were delivered to us and picked up by boat. We made a few trips to Days Store in Belgrade for groceries and had all we needed to prepare and cook meals. Highly recommend a visit to Scapes Cafe in Mt. Vernon for amazing baked goods. We were so sad to leave, and are already looking forward to returning next year! Thank you, Scott!

We love the cabin! Of all the places we have rented over the last 25 years, this had absolutely the best Porch, hands-down. The entire cabin was very tastefully appointed with cabin decor. Such a plus to have a washer and dryer, well water, a very good heater, as well as a gas wood stove, fans, and air conditioners if needed. The owner was very easy to contact with any questions, and promptly responded within minutes.

Great cottage

Loved the lake cottage, roomy but cozy with the small gas Franklin stove, we were there in October so it was a nice addition for the evenings. We would definitely come back!

Lakeside and October foliage

The cabin is on a beautiful pond. We stayed in October so the leaves were changing. The color was amazing! We had a few rainstorms and the skylight over the bed enhanced the experience. We were so cozy.

Maine stay

Amazing area, cute & comfortable cabin. It would be perfect in the summer. Unfortunately in the fall businesses that rent kayaks were closed. Unless you are able to bring your own fishing gear or other lake toys (we couldn’t because we flew) it would be difficult to fully enjoy the lake. Overall though we would definitely recommend this camp.

Great Relaxing Lake Vacation

Great cottage and outdoor fire pit. Great dock. Cottage had everything we needed. We appreciated the dryer for drying wet dog towels. King bedroom was very comfortable. Spent almost all day on the dock reading or watching birds. Got some great loon and heron pics. Husband spinner and fly fished from dock and took his canoe out as well. Fishing wasn’t great due to time of year but he still enjoyed it. Visited Belgrade for supplies (Day’s) and dinners out (The Village Inn). Dogs loved swimming but neither would jump from the dock. Slope from property to lake was a bit steep for the old dog. Hiked (short with very slight elevation gain) up French Mountain. Also had great view from Blueberry Hill (drive up). Was so sad to leave. Actually teared up. Would love to spend the entire summer there. Highly recommend.

Our favorite lake in the Belgrade Lakes chain is Long Pond. When we had the opportunity to purchase this property in 2012 we could not resist! After a full year of extensive re-design and renovation we are pleased to offer this wonderful cottage for rent.

This lake is our absolute favorite in the Belgrade Lakes chain for it's pristine look and feel. Bald Eagles, the largest local population of Loons you will find anywhere, and beautiful stretches of undeveloped shoreline are the hallmark of this beautiful pond.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Quiet and seclusion, we are at the end of a very long and beautiful country road, perfect for jogging and walking your dog. Our end of the lake also boasts great stretches of undeveloped shoreline that is a pleasure to boat or kayak. When you get to our property you are at the end of the road, there is no busy road running behind us. The lake in front of our cottage is perfect for swimming. There are no weeds, some gravel, and a gently sloping depth. You have your own large floating dock and your own swim platform as well. Plenty of parking for boat trailers with room to turn around is a plus.
