The Captain's Cabin is a fabulous re-furbished spacious luxury apartment on the ground floor of our lovely Grade II listed 18th Century townhouse in one of Devon's undiscovered idyllic seaside villages. With one bedroom and with lovely fine art photography on the walls throughout, The Captain's Cabin has a secret secluded patio suntrap garden. And just up the beach road is the amazing 'Ode' Michelin starred Café, which you would not want to miss.





A secure patio garden is at the back of the cottage, protected from the rain.



Shaldon in South Devon is a magical holiday destination, promising every visitor a chance to escape. Wander down the old fishing village streets, the sunlight splashing golden splinters of summer all along the beach up to the cliffs and rock pools. Catch the oldest ferry in England for the short hop across to Teignmouth and laze on the pier, slurping ice cream and watching the surfers ride the waves.





I'm sure we all want to be beside the seaside. And there are not many places that tick all the boxes for a relaxing escape that really is right next to the sea. Shaldon is blessed with centuries of seafaring history, pubs that have welcomed the salty sea-dogs are now cosy nooks for you and your friends to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Restaurants, bars and galleris are aplenty as you wander along the shore with the waves gently lapping at your feet. And if you like to beachcombe, each new tide will deliver all sorts of treats for those with sharp eyes for gathering the harvest. Across the river into teignmouth will increase the tempo slightly, with cinema, theatre, shopping and even more beaches. If you are detemined not to relax, then boat hire, scuba diving, wind surfing, and all manner of sea related fun is right there for the taking.

Secret Smugglers CovesThe little red sandy beach below is perfect for a morning stroll, but venture a little further and you'll discover the secluded, unspoilt beach of Ness Cove through an original Smugglers tunnel.



Foodie HeavenIn recent years Shaldon has become a haven for fine food. As well as the local producers (the village has a bakery, butchers and ice cream/fudge parlour) there is a good variety of seafood restaurants, coffee shops and quaint tea rooms on offer too - some of which have been mentioned in the Michelin Guide.



WatersportsIf you like to pepper your holiday with some action, then you have come to the right place. You can SCUBA dive, windsurf, canoe around some of the lovliest cliffs in the UK. For a full adrenalin rush, try coasteering at Maidencombe smugglers cove.



DartmoorDon't forget your walking boots on a break here, head out for breathtaking wilderness rambles on Dartmoor. This National Park offers a dramatic wilderness in which to mountain bike, kayak, rock climb and hike - a playground for adventure.
