We brought our family of 8 to stay for 5 days and 4 nights. My parents also arrived a day later and stayed with us for the rest of the visit. Although the pictures online looked great, we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. What a beautiful setting! The grounds and views are lovely. I was able to jog in the morning and had some beautiful routes to take. We brought our children, and they loved the tree swings, trampoline, and all of the open space to run around.
Although the house is in a rural area, we were nicely located to reach the castles like Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, and beautiful cathedrals like the Wieskirche. At the same time, it is near larger cities; we made it to Munich in 40 minutes. Salzburg is a little further afield; that took us more like 2 hours. Still, it was the perfect location for a relaxing visit near many of the sites we wanted to see.
The house itself was a nice surprise as well. We stayed in the 4 bed/4 bath house. It was very nicely appointed and updated while maintaining its traditional charm. It was also rather large, with about 2200 sq ft. Having a high ratio of baths to beds was also really nice when we were trying to get ready and out the door in the morning for a day of adventures. We were all very cozy in the house and felt right at home.
Although it had been a long winter and not much was in bloom yet, it was nevertheless beautiful. I can only imagine how amazing it would be there during Spring, Winter, and Fall. Hopefully we'll be able to try that out some day!
