Our farm is in Parfondeval, officially a 'Beau Village', located in the middle of the Thierache region some 320 km from Utrecht. It is a quiet region in a picturesque landscape. The village of Parfondeval has 175 inhabitants. Our house is on the edge of the village and overlooks the hills.

It is a village on the edge of the French Ardennes in the Aisne department. A very quiet area in a hilly landscape. The village of Parfondeval has 175 inhabitants. It is a real farming village, where people are friendly and helpful and it is very quiet. It is not a tourist area, but there is plenty to do!

Our house is on the edge of the village and overlooks the hills.

In our converted farmhouse there is a gite (small holiday home) situated at the front. The gite has its own terrace and a large private garden of about 300 m2. The gite is also equipped with all facilities for a quiet and pleasant holiday for 4 people. In combination with the gite, there are 2 camping pitches for rent including electricity, water, sanitary facilities and beautiful views. For additional information, please let us know.

Dogs are allowed in the house and garden. However, dogs must be taken outside the property

There are a lot of fun things to do and do in the surrounding area. In the immediate vicinity, you can go mountain biking and road cycling. It is a hilly landscape with quiet and challenging routes. The village itself has a restaurant (Le Relais de la Chouette) and a fortified church that is open to the public. It is possible to walk the 'Tour du Parfondeval'. This is an audio-guided walking tour of Parfondeval, with equipment to pick up at the restaurant. There are many fortified churches in the 'Thierache' region and Parfondeval is part of them.

In Hirson you will find a swimming pool with a slide and a bowling alley. In Signy-le-Petit you will find a swimming lake with a small beach and in Les Mazures there is a large lake with an aqua park, a small amusement park (Elfy Park) and a climbing park. For more spectacle, you can also go to the zipline in Fumay (Terraltitude).

Finally, Reims has an impressive cathedral where the kings were crowned and the Joan of Arc episode also took place here. You can also book a champagne tour in Reims and the city boasts a lively centre where you can shop extensively.
