Pazin is a small, historically rich town that has a lot to offer, and is only 30 km away from other tourist centers. The medieval fortress "Kastel" is well preserved and you can still visit it today because it houses the Ethnographic Museum of Istria and the Museum of the City of Pazin. Visit the nearby churches in this area. As many as 6 of them are protected as part of the Croatian cultural heritage. One of them, the church of St. Marija in Beram (between Pazin and Poreč), is world famous for its Istrian fresco Dance of the Dead from 1474. Do not miss to visit Pazin stream and experience small lakes, waterfalls and even caves. You can also bathe in this clearing of nature in summer. If you want to get to know Istria better, visit Poreč, Rovinj or Pula.
