The idyllic mountain village of Hohentauern is located at 1,274 metres above sea level on the Triebener-Tauern Pass in the Rottenmanner Tauern in Styria. The region offers a breathtaking panorama, in which numerous mountain lakes, small waterfalls and caves are hidden. Hohentauern offers countless signposted hiking trails, marked mountain bike trails, various motorbike passes, marked winter hiking trails and snowshoe tours, ski touring routes, a toboggan run and a small, uncrowded ski area. Cross-country skiers can explore the region on a 13 kilometer network of trails with 2 diagonal tracks and a skating track.
