Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a revitalised future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the ‘Ferien im Baudenkmal’ foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005.
Public transport: Näfels-Mollis railway station, walk to the centre of Näfels, approx. 600m
Car: In the centre of Näfels, practically opposite the Freulerpalast, cantonal road towards Glarus.
Car park: There are parking spaces in front of the house. Luggage can be unloaded in front of the house.
Number of persons 2-3: 1 bedroom. On the 1st floor 1 room with double bed (180/200). A third person can sleep on the sofa.
Season: All year round
Short holidays: Low season
Outdoor space: Balcony and garden seating with furniture.
Heating: The flat is heated by central heating (groundwater heat pump).
