Alghero is located in the northwestern part of Sardinia, within the bay of the same name. Most of the territory north of the urban area is occupied by the Nurra plain, while in the northwestern area you will find the karst systems of Capo Caccia, Punta Giglio, and Monte Doglia. South of the city, the landscape is mainly characterized by volcanic formations that give rise to the plateaus of Villanova Monteleone and Bosa. From the latter plateau, several streams originate, which have favored the development of agriculture in the area.
