Vår stuga har en vacker utsikt över sjön från matsalen och lindas runt däck på framsidan. Vi har också ett däck utanför övervåningen där du kan se hjortar och djurliv i fälten bakom. Köket är helt möblerat med mikrovågsugn ovanför elektrisk spis och ugn, diskmaskin, brödrost, kaffekanna, mixer och mixer. Krukor och kokkärl och rätter är också inredda. Vi har 3 sovrum, med 2 drottningar och en dubbelsäng, med en skummadrass under en säng för extra person. Du levererar lakan och handdukar. Det finns en soffa, bekväma stolar och en platt-TV, DVD-spelare och Netflix. Vi har också WiFi för dig att ansluta till internet. Loved, all the well maintained trails, right on the property! The cabin was well equipped with everything you need. Great outdoor space. We had a fire in the fire pit. Row boats were provided, and we caught a couple of nice sized bass, catch and release, of course. Very enjoyable.

Peaceful getaway.

this is just what the doctor ordered. beautiful scenery all around, great view of the lake and nice trails to walk on. the cabin was clean and perfect for 5 of us. the kitchen was and dining area were also great. it’s conveniently located near some stores as well. i highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a quick getaway.

Perfect Tranquility

Perfect. If you are looking to bunker down and enjoy some peace and quiet or have an awesome homebase for nearby adventures and shopping this place is perfect for all ages and dogs too(they also loved it). We will be back soon.

Quiet & Cozy

We loved the house, it was so cozy and cute. The best part was that it was so tucked away it felt like you were surrounded by nothing. All you could hear outside was the birds chirping and the trees rustling in the wind, very tranquil as my partner said. We LOVED the wood burning fireplace inside it made it that much more cozy and relaxing. Great winter getaway when you are just looking for a break from everything.

Birthday Get Away

My husband and I came for his birthday sat in front of the nice warm fire and watched net flix. Beautiful lake scene very clean except for the dead mouse I found in a trap it’s very country backed up to a forest and is to be expected only saw one just wishing it had been thrown away prior to us coming in other then that place is spotless we come every year will be back again

Great Getaway

Perfect tucked away location for a quiet getaway. Good driving distance from hiking trails, and Alpena is a great day trip from here. Make sure to get donuts from Fairview Family Restaurant- the best we’ve ever had. Would love to check it out in the summer with the kids!

Great Cabin! Peaceful, beautiful view of Lake

We wanted a place where we could unwind with a view and that is what we got. Cozy cabin with lake access. We didn’t use the row boats but the fire pit and deck was the best. We fed the fish in the lake (failed horribly at fishing) and our dog loved to run around freely. We would recommend.

Chalet

This was our second trip to the Chalet. The accommodations are not extravagant but it is a an excellent get away and there is functional internet should you need the modern convenience. Our children and dog love it.

Wonderful stay!

We stayed at the chalet for the first time after staying at the A-frame for several visits. We loved the open concept inside, the beautiful views, the awesome fire pit area and the wonderful beach! Our host was very patient and helpful with my many questions. We donated an Uno Quattro game to the game closet and hope others enjoy it. We hope to be back next year!

Peaceful quite weekend with great service

See Title The only reason there were not five stars for cleanliness and accuracy. Tub drain was clogged with LOTS of hair that I was able to pull out myself. Advertised life jackets were missing, so could not use boats, but weather not cooperative anyway. Everything else worked fine!! and they were appreciative of our calls notifying of miner issues. Owner was VERY cooperative taking my phone calls and responding. We love this place as well as the conversations with the owner. In spite of a deluge of rain on Friday we had a great time through the weekend.

Peaceful Getaway Amongst the Trees

I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cottage last year with my family and dogs, and we had a wonderful time. The location was easy to find, and the pictures and description in the listing were accurate. The property was peaceful and secluded, surrounded by lovely trails full of wildflowers and butterflies, providing a tranquil environment to unwind in. One of my favorite spots was the swing bench, nestled among the trees, which offered beautiful views of the lake and was perfect for birdwatching. The owners were quick to respond when I had to contact them and I appreciated their attentiveness. They even left a complimentary bottle of maple syrup, which was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall warm and welcoming atmosphere of the cottage. The upstairs deck also offered stunning views of the surrounding forest and was another great spot for birdwatching. My dogs especially enjoyed exploring the trails and soaking up the peaceful surroundings, while my family enjoyed spending time together in the beautiful natural setting. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with family and pets. Thank you to the owners for providing such a wonderful place to stay!

Rental of Relaxation and Calm

Mom and I loved our stay. This was our second visit to this beautiful rental. The views are spectacular!! The rental was very clean and very cozy! The beds were super comfortable! The owner and caretakers are a pleasure to communicate with. They responded to my questions and concerns quickly and even came by to start the heater for us and bring by missing supplies. We were able to catch up on some needed rest as well due to the privacy and calm of this property. I highly recommend this property, you will not be disappointed at all. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the daily visits by the small siamese cat. The cat is very beautiful to look at however we personally are not cat people and found the cat to be somewhat of a bother and so did my dog lol while we were sitting outside by the fire pit and while on the deck. The cat was jumping on top of the picnic table and trying to enter the property when we were coming and going. This may not be an issue for most, especially if you like cats. This did NOT ruin our trip by any means, it was just an annoyance but it's not the owners fault. Again, I still highly recommend this property.

The cabin had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. We did not spend a lot of time at the cabin but we did return to it in the evenings and it was very comfortable after a day spent hiking.

We loved our stay here. Very secluded and quiet. It was so beautiful! Wished we could have stayed longer. We loved the wood burner stove inside, it heated the whole place.

The Detweiler's moved on the family farm in 1965. The Chalet was built in 1976 on the 23 acres of woods on the farm. Ruel and Sara Detweiler are now retired. Our family has recently started to manage the property with our main goal being to keep everything like Ruel and Sara managed it. Our family has been coming to the Detweiler's cabins since 1982; hunting, fishing and enjoying nature. We have so many fond memories of our times spent here and we know that many other families have similar cherished memories here. That's what makes this place so special to so many.

This is a beautiful place to enjoy all four seasons. In the spring, maple syrup is made from trees on the property, wild flowers, and mushrooms abound in the area. Spring is a good time to view deer, turkey, and migrating birds. Summer is family time for hiking, fishing, swimming, or basking in the Michigan sun. There is time for day trips to Mackinaw Island, or Light Houses along the shore. In the fall, the autumn colors are some of the best in the state. Winter snow and frozen lakes bring joy to skiers, snowmobilers, and ice fisherman. This is also time to enjoy a good book by the crackling fireplace.

The Chalet cottage is unique with its fantastic views of the water from the living room and breakfast area. The dishwasher and wood burning fireplace are new to the Chalet this year. The best thing that many enjoy, is the privacy and away- from- it- all feeling that you have when you stay here.
