Everything about our stay was amazing. Jim’s communication was excellent, the check-in process was smooth, the unit was very clean and well stocked and the location couldn’t be better. My family has stayed at many locations in the area and this one is at the very top of our list.

We had a great time. The condo was beautiful and well maintained and had everything we needed. The large balcony was great for relaxing and enjoying the view. The bed was comfortable, having a washer and dryer was a plus and we enjoyed the beach chairs and umbrellas. Great stay.

Beautiful view from the balcony of the mountains inland and the beach/ocean view is unparalleled. The Pool is excellent. The host's vetting and check-in procedures were so easy and logical The condo itself was perfect as our home base.

Great week at The Whaler! The view was my absolute favorite, the lani is a substantial size for the whole family. We gave my son and daughter in law the bedroom as I’m a very early riser and wanted to be near the coffee pot without disturbing them. We found the sofa bed to be super comfy and the 2nd bathroom gave us all privacy for dressing. Already dreaming about a return visit!!

Ideal location and great condo!

Winter Break from School

Stayed at the Whaler many times and it never disappoints. This was one of my favorite units. Would definitely stay here again. Love the short walk to Whaler’s Village for shopping and restaurants.

Nice condo, clean, good view, great location

We have stayed at the Whaler before just not this specific condo. Condo was clean, well stocked, beds were comfortable, good linens and towels. Nice big lanai with a view. Would book again.

The condo is amazing. Beautiful views of the beach and ocean from the lanai. My wife loved the cleanliness of the condo and said the kitchen was amazing. Whaler’s Village is right around the corner. My wife and daughter’s loved the shops and restaurants. I could go on and on but it was the most amazing trip and the condo was a huge part of that. From my family a huge Mahalo!

Girls Trip

Property as listed with many nice amenities. View from the balcony over looking the courtyard and beach were amazing. Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards provided. Within walking distance of black rock for exceptional snorkeling. Next door to Whalers Village for shopping and dining. Great experience and would rent again when in Maui!

Perfect Maui Beach Vacation Location

This unit on the 11th floor of the south whaler tower is perfect for a peaceful Maui vacation. The rooms and deck are well organized with nice furnishings and everything you need for relaxing inside or on the beach. It’s perfectly located for all Maui activities and literally a 25 step walk to the beach. All amenities were super easy to use including the well outfitted gym. We’ll certainly stay here again for our next visit to Maui.

Excellent place for vacation

Right on beach with lots of amenities. Jim had snorkel gear, beach bags, umbrella, and chairs. All wonderful for traveling to other beaches. Property was perfect for our family of four. We plan to return. ☺️ Great spot to snorkel, cliff jump, watch the sun set and relax 🌸. Thank you Jim.

Exceptional host and rental

The vacation rental itself was fantastic. Perfect location, easy check-in, everything was clean and well stocked. I want to leave a special note for the host, who went out of his way to help make sure the rental was ready for us despite a booking error on my end. He was so understanding and accommodating - truly exceptional among the many hosts we have encountered over the years.

Amazing Location & Fantastic Condo!

Best VRBO stay we have ever had! Location is everything in Maui and this one has it all with the views on Kaanapali Beach! My family had the time of our lives and could not be happier with this property. Jim has everything you would need from beach umbrellas and chairs to bbq utensils to a washer and dryer, just like living at home! You wont be disappointed in this booking. Slept my family of 5 very well in paradise!

Grounds were beautiful our room was ok we had no lock on the patio sliding doors next to the elevator and the coffee maker and furniture were a little old overall not bad maybe a 6.5 out 10 Next time we will be going back to the Montage

Aloha Jonathan - Thank you for the review! I do strive for "perfect 10/10 reviews" ... When we spoke on the phone after your check in, you said the unit was "amazing"! So, I'm a little surprised on your 6/10 review. I'm also truly very sorry that the condo did not meet the expectations of the accommodations at the "Montage Resort" in Kapalua.. Since Montage Resort rooms start at $1,500/nightly (almost triple the cost of 1170) , it's hard to compete with the room amenities of a five-star hotel. Unit 1170 has literally 100% perfect 10/10 reviews for the last 10 years.. Yours being the exception... Anyway, I'm truly sorry that I couldn't meet or exceed your expectations. Thanks again for your review. I'm always striving to make the unit the absolute best for the next guest. Jim

Great location and view

The Whaler has the best location on Kaanapali beach, adjacent to the Whaler shopping center and a short walk to the great snorkeling at Black Rock. This condo, with a large lanai with a nice ocean view, is located on the shady side of the building so it never gets too hot. This condo has all the amenities you'd expect of a high end development, and the owner was very responsive to our requests and inquiries.

Wonderful stay at The Whaler

The place was wonderful for our family of 4! Great location, had debated other places nearby and the proximity to Whalers Village was very appreciated during our stay. Beach section is great, easy towels process, nice refreshing pool when we needed an ocean break, plus free and easy parking which made day trips super easy. Unit is well loaded with beach supplies and kitchen items. Beds were extremely comfy except the pull out sofa, they ended up sleeping on the couch (slept very well but something to be aware of). Overall we'd gladly stay again and were sad to say goodbye.

Great vacation and place for family of 4

We stayed here in Aug 2019. The place was as described and great for 2 adults and 2 teenagers ( 15 and 17 yo boys)- although both preferred the Murphy over the pull out sofa- I figured it would be opposite! It was great to have the full kitchen and full size refrigerator- we were able to eat breakfast on the Lanai and pack lunches to take with us. Views were spectacular. Property great. Pool was a little crowded that time of year but who cares when you have the beautiful warm ocean. We did so much during the days we were barely there. Only issue was parking if you come back later at night- the parking garage is usually full. Owner was great- we were not sure what was included but when I let him know the beach umbrella was broken, the next day 2 brand new ones were outside of our door which we greatly appreciated as the sun is strong that time of year. Just did a photo book of our trip and wish were were there now!

Wonderful stay as first time Condo accommodations. Perfect for family of 4 how need to spread out more.Description is AS IS on website and the host and his housekeeper were great and quick at all communication.The one and only request is room desktops and kitchen appeared a bit dusty with some crumbs. Could be a bit cleaner other than that.. Excellent stay!!!We will definitely go back!
