Everything about this property is excellent, inside and out. We particularly appreciated the sand beach. Perfectly decorated and appointed, this lake house is a super location for a family vacation!

Best cabin stay ever!

This property has a very cozy but spacious feel! Plenty of room to gather for our friends Thanksgiving celebration! We loved having plenty of seating to be all together in one space!!

Excellent family vacation home.

We had 10 family members there for our annual family snowmobile trip. Very spacious, snowmobile trail runs on the roadside across from the driveway. Perfect for a large family gathering!

This property went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. Our family spent a long weekend here and celebrated our wedding on the most beautiful Saturday afternoon. Surrounded by our closest family and friends, we had a lakeside ceremony, dinner on the patio, and dancing in the dogtrot. The evening was capped by a warm fire in the dogtrot and a rainbow over the house – it felt like something out of a dream!Our families and friends couldn’t stop raving about the home – inside and out, it’s clean, spacious, and very welcoming. There are so many amazing, comfy spots to hangout. One of our favorite moments was being greeted by a family of deer as we pulled in our first day. Each morning, they’d wander through while we sipped coffee and soaked in the view. We also saw eagles, loons and friendly chipmunks. The mix of comfort, nature, and beauty here is unmatched.From the very beginning, Clay and Angi were wonderful to work with. Their communication was thoughtful and detailed, which made everything run so smoothly. This wasn’t just a weekend getaway. It became the backdrop for one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. We are excited to comeback to celebrate our anniversaries for years to come!

Beautiful House and Property

Clays house is a great space to spend a weekend with a large group of people. Communication was great anytime we had an issue. The house was clean and ready to use. I would stay again and recommend to anyone.

Three Generation Dream House

What a wonderful stay we had at this property with our adult children and grandchildren. The home and property were even better than advertised. The lake view is breathtaking from so many parts of the house and property. Easily facilitates comfortable time together and time for personal reflection. Our grandchildren loved the beach. HIGHLY recommend. We can't wait to stay again. .

Wonderful family wedding

We enjoyed our stay immensely, a small family wedding, perfect weather, our own little private beach and lots of room to gather or have some quiet time in smaller groups. Clay and Anji (owners) are great communicators. We saw deer, a bald eagle pair and loved the serenades of several loons. We rented some kayaks from Crow Wing and loved being on a clear lake with minimal boat traffic. Highly recommend.!

Excellent Property and Overall Experience

The house was fantastic and set on a beautiful property on Ox Lake. Very quiet and relaxing location. Plenty of space for family and friends with the fireplace in the dog trot being a favorite spot at night to chat. Clay and Angi were wonderful to work with. They were incredibly responsive with clear instructions for optimizing our experience at their home. Highly recommend and hope to rent the house from Clay and Angi again in the near future.

Just a perfect weekend.

5 couples who have been longtime friends. We have been going to VRBOs for over 23 for a fall getaway and this is one of the nicest. I think we spent the most time in the open area between the house and the garage. It’s covered, has a huge fireplace and a beautiful view of the lake. Everything is meticulously spelled out before we arrived and all our needs were met. The owners were great to work with. Hopefully they will let us come back for many years.

Beautiful home on the lake

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This home is ideally situated on a quiet cove of Ox Lake. The house and views are beautiful. The lake is the perfect size and even has an island in the middle that adds interest. Cute little town. Nearby we found the Pine River to tube on. About 20-40 minutes away there's great mountain biking, the Paul Bunyan trail for road biking and berry picking. There's a place just around the corner to rent kayaks and paddleboards. The owner is very easy to communicate with. It was a magical time.

Beautiful spot for a family reunion

It should be noted that if renting through VRBO, Clay will still have you sign a lease and later (days before arrival) also sign a 12-page operations document. There are some rules not made clear on the VRBO listing when booking that would have been nice to know ahead of time, including bringing all of your disposable items (toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, paper towels, etc.). We didn't mind, but would have liked to know ahead of booking, and felt the operations document could be made available before booking or key items could have been listed in the VRBO description. All that being said, we did have a wonderful stay at this house - the rooms were big, everyone had a bed, it was very clean, and the views and property were gorgeous. It's a trip we will all remember forever - thank you to Clay and Angi!

Absolutely Perfect

We stayed at this house for a family gathering with about 12 people and had an absolute blast. There was plenty of room for everyone and you still felt like you had your privacy due to the size of the house and the different “wings” of the house. The pictures on VRBO are great and all but they really do not do the house justice, it truly is immaculate. There is also a lot of property in the backyard and front yard which is perfect for lawn games, sports, and night games. There is a nice nightlife with restaurants and bars within a mile or so if you want to go out but I was plenty content hanging out at the quiet and secluded home with very little lake commotion which made the stay even more relaxing. The owner was responsive and very easy to work with throughout the whole process and I would highly recommend renting out this house for large or small gatherings.

A Thanksgiving to remember

This property was a perfect fit for our family Thanksgiving week long celebration. The two kitchens made the meal prep so easy. There is such great living space on multiple levels which provided privacy and very adequate room for the kids to play and the adults to enjoy conversation and beverages! The view of the lake from the big windows was priceless and so amazing to wake up to each morning. We were able to take the kids star gazing at night and have an outdoor fire in the dog trot along with hot cocoa. The snow we received right before our arrival gave an enchanting northwoods experience for all of us. Being allowed to bring our dogs made it seem more like home and we are so grateful for that. Clay and Angi were available and quick to respond to any questions. The multiple bedrooms, main floor master bedroom, multiple fireplaces and overall lay out of the home was fabulous and very accommodating for our 2 daughters/ son in law, 4 grandchildren and ourselves. Everlasting memories were created and we hope to return next year. Thank you, Clay and Angie for sharing your wonderful home. Roger and Diana Fink

Plenty of parking, kitchens were amazing and had everything we could’ve needed, modern appliances. Plenty of beds, all were clean, made, comfy. Clay and Angi were very responsive and fast to answer if we had any questions

Amazing Wedding Weekend on Ox Lake

This residence was a great place to stay with friends and family. Clay was very helpful and accommodating with us having our small wedding (30 people) here. It was the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. Everything about the house was clean and taken care of. Just remember to bring your own pool cues!

Cross lake getaway

Spectacular home located in Cross lake on the water with Bald Eagles flying overhead. Scenic ,quiet ,close to town. Perfect home for a family or big group. Exceeded our expectations!

6 1/2 Acres. 'Dogtrot' or breezeway with fireplace. 178' of Private Lake Shore and beachfront. This is a private lake. Serene. Typically not very busy. You will be right across the road from the Whitefish Chain of Lakes so if you want more action you can have it within minutes. We have our own landing capable of handling jet ski or small aluminum fishing boats. For larger vessels you can put in numerous places on the Whitefish Chain or rent a boat or pontoon through us. While this is a private home on a private lake with a private dock and lift...there is the practical matter of the dock having to be installed in the Spring and removed in the Fall. This is dependent on the weather, weather forecast and schedule of the installer.
