Efter en noggrann restaurering som kombinerar Àkthet och originalitet (kalkputs, fÀrgade vÀggar, golv kastanj, cement kakel och polerad betong), Àr Mas rÀtt i hjÀrtat av Cevennes för en oförglömlig semester.

Med 5 sovrum, 4 badrum, fullt utrustat kök, matsal, flera rum .... Mas erbjuder stora ytor och möbler tillverkade av designmöbler frÄn 50-talet till 80-talet.

Sida trÀdgÄrd, pool 5m x 16m med simbassÀng (sÀkras genom en elektrisk gardin), poolhus, sola och solarium. Utegrill, plancha och trÀdgÄrdsmöbler. Ett litet kök Àr open access (beroende pÄ sÀsong, jordgubbar, tomater, örter ...) och vÄra frukttrÀd (plommon, fikon) finns tillgÀngliga.

Lovely old place!!

Lovely old place restored by Frederic. We were lucky enough to be there for the festival in Sauve which was great! Far too hot to go hiking in the hills but managed trips to Uzes ( beautiful) and of course the Haribo museum for the kids. Pool cover needs 2 people and doesn’t come all the way back but it’s for safety. All the stairs to the bedrooms are outside and one set definitely needs resetting. Kitchen well equipped for a large group. Really enjoyed our stay!! L

A magical stay

Visiting Cros was like releasing a long exhalation of breath, and with it, the stresses of day-to-day life. The house, as mentioned in the other review here, is indescribable. It is an oasis of cool and calm, in a basin of trees and regional wildlife, which soothes the soul. It is a stunning part of the planet and felt like a special, secret place that remains unspoiled. The accommodation is fantastic. Quirky and comfortable, with many social spaces to enjoy your party's company as well as quiet places to escape to when you need time alone. We were seven adults and two children (aged 2 and 7) and all got along famously over the course of our 10 days, thanks to the space provided. Frederic, Virginie and Laure literally could not have been more helpful. We had all manner of questions and they were incredibly receptive and responsive, helping us with any queries and genuinely friendly with it. We think everybody needs this place/space in their lives ;-) Thank you for a wonderful and very memorable holiday.

Excellent séjour, excellente location

Nous avons optĂ© cette annĂ©e pour des vacances « au vert » avec 2 couples d’amis et leurs enfants (au total 6 adultes et 5 enfants) et avons eu la main trĂšs heureuse avec notre location. Ce n’est jamais facile avec internet, et lĂ  quelle belle dĂ©couverte Ă  l’arrivĂ©e : une Ă©norme maison superbement rĂ©novĂ©e (une ancienne « magnanerie »). Grand confort dans cette belle bĂątisse en pierres, dans un cadre naturel trĂšs prĂ©servĂ©. Les chambres sont magnifiques et particuliĂšrement grandes, les 2 chambres en mezzanine ont Ă©tĂ© occupĂ©es par les enfants en y ajoutant un couchage supplĂ©mentaire. Les espaces collectifs sont aussi trĂšs soignĂ©s (confort, dĂ©co) et agrĂ©ables Ă  vivre, mention spĂ©ciale pour la cuisine Ă©quipĂ©e de matĂ©riel professionnel, spacieuse et pourvue de bien plus que le nĂ©cessaire. La piscine est encore plus grande qu’elle ne paraĂźt en photo. Pour les plus petits enfants nous la fermions avec le volet Ă©lectrique, pratique et efficace. Le jardin est propice au dĂ©paysement et Ă  la contemplation, le cadre est de toute beautĂ©. Au final on a regrettĂ© de n’avoir louĂ© qu’une semaine, la maison est si agrĂ©able qu’on a envie d’y rester et se prĂ©lasser mais nous reviendrons pour continuer Ă  dĂ©couvrir les CĂ©vennes. En bref un excellent sĂ©jour et une location Ă  recommander.

Absolutely amazing place

We stayed in this amazing house for a couple of weeks - 4 couples, with kids left home! The place is really hard to describe because it is so much more than we expected. Also the photos don't quite do it justice (especially the outdoors pics). It is a huge house, with several levels. All the bedrooms bar one are on one upper floor. The other bedroom (that we stayed in) is accessible on the side of the building and has a lovely little terrace with a small table and chairs. Perfect for taking in the sun or simply relaxing. I did do a bit of work there. On the lower level is the huge kitchen, big dining area with a really cool table that makes entertaining fun, and loads of interesting living areas each individual and stylishly decorated. All in all it is a big place where it is easy to spend time with friends and be sociable, or retreat to one of the cosy, quirky but fantastic living spaces for me-time. We weren't quite sure what we would do there for 2 weeks as it seemed a little remote, but it is SO relaxing and welcoming we spent the first week just staying put and enjoying it. The swimming pool is great and I did my lengths every morning. The area just beyond the pool is great in the evening for a drink (or many more). The bedrooms are really special. Big and very well appointed. Comfortable beds and interesting bathrooms (ours had a built-in bath). The owner Fred is super friendly and accommodating. We were welcomed by him and his partner, and to our surprise the fridge was filled with local produce, and there was also some wine and fresh bread left for us! Great surprise, and even better after the long drive down! For shopping we went to the closest town and there were 2 large supermarkets there as well as the usual bakeries/butchers etc. The area is very beautiful. The mountains are stunning and we found some really lovely villages to explore. We had a great dinner one night in Sauve. Really cute village well worth exploring. We ate on a square high up overlooking the river below. I could go on and on. The place has so much charm, and is so well appointed, we could have stayed for longer. We have amazing memories, and special thanks to Fred for having created this small piece of paradise.

Un lieu de rĂȘves pour des moments trĂšs prĂ©cieux !

Un sĂ©jour extra entre amis (une douzaine avec adultes, ados et enfants) dans un lieu magique... un site naturel de toute beautĂ©, aussi magnifique de jour comme de nuit sous les Ă©toiles ; un Mas superbement rĂ©novĂ©, oĂč le cachet des pierres anciennes s'allie avec un grand confort (Ă©quipement, literie, salles de bains, cuisine...), de l'espace pour chacun, des chambres immenses et une dĂ©coration soignĂ©e plus qu'originale, chaque objet chaque meuble est choisi avec beaucoup d'esprit et suscite curiositĂ©. Chacun y a trouvĂ© son intimitĂ© et activitĂ© du jour (pique-nique au bord de la riviĂšre, shopping Ă  Anduze trĂšs pittoresque, lecture au bord de la piscine, promenade cĂ©venole... et mĂȘme rĂ©visions du Bac dans un calme propice !). Une prĂ©paration du lieu par les propriĂ©taires et des attentions pour notre arrivĂ©e trĂšs apprĂ©ciables. A l'annĂ©e prochaine c'est sĂ»r... On voudrait bien dormir dans toutes les chambres !

Un Mas unique, magnifique, un lieu sublime!

Unique en son genre: le Mas a conservé son histoire (pierres, agencement) et propose un aménagement moderne et une décoration originale, recherchée, tout en étant douce et apaisante... Nous avons séjourné avec 4 couples d'amis, et avons bénéficié chacun de beaucoup d'intimité et d'espace. Les chambres sont trÚs grandes, lumineuses, la literie est de trÚs bonne qualité. L'accueil est parfait, nous avons été séduits par les attentions du propriétaire (du jamais vu malgré nos nombreux séjours locatifs)! Enfin, la région est magnifique et offre plein d'activités. Si l'on devait chercher un point négatif?.... On n'a pas trouvé. Nous reviendrons, c'est sûr.

Un séjour formidable.

J'ai passé quelques jours en famille au Mas Akwaba en septembre 2015. Le séjour y a été fabuleux, notamment parce que l'endroit est trÚs raffiné, et parce que l'emplacement est idéal pour des excursions dans le parc des Cévennes.
