Heavenly Hana Hideaway

Located walking distance from the largest lava tube in Maui, this place is the perfect home base for exploring Hana! The manicured property grounds, the outdoor living space and the outdoor shower are just some of the highlights, and that’s before you set foot inside! The house itself is a very pleasant 2 bedroom bungalow with top notch mattresses, bed linens and kitchen amenities. I have already recommended this to some friends of mine who will be on the island in a few months.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was as advertised regarding all amenities. Very clean, well maintained and well stocked. The only surprise was no microwave. Check in and out quite seamless. One of the better properties I've rented

Beautiful property & nice location

The house was clean and the property was so beautiful! The only downside was the geckos in the house. I didnt mind, but my mom was scared of them and had trouble sleeping as they were chirping in her room. But overall I'd recommend this place and id stay again if im ever in Hana!

My wife and I live on Maui and we love going to Hana for a little recharge. This home was the perfect spot to relax and take in all that Hana has to offer. We will definitely be back. This home has everything that one would need for a vacation and it is very clean. Mahalo.

My family loved this beautiful property!

This lovely home was the perfect place for our family staycation! It had everything we neede and was beautifully appointed. I particularly liked the covered large lanai. It was like large outdoor living room. Perfect place for lounging and having meals. It’s very private, quiet and secluded. We will definitely be back!

We loved outdoor lounging, playing board games, and sharing meals on the lanai next to a gorgeous banyan tree. Location is wonderful. Have breakfast at Hana Bowls at the head of the road - run by great folks. Thank you to host for responsiveness and advice. We hope to return!

Lovely Hideaway

What a wonderful little house! Tucked into the jungle on a quiet road with complete privacy and a beautiful yard with green grass lawns all around surrounded by flowering trees, including bananas and oranges, and colourful tropical plants. Take advantage of the fruit smoothie stand a short walk from the house. The linens were all top notch. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking your own meals, although some guests might miss having a microwave. The house was really clean in spite of a couple of gecko visitors who chirped at night (we thought there was a bird in the house) and who left little reminders of their presence. Crissy, the manager, was very responsive to our needs, including helping us technology-handicapped guests through the TV and phone connection processes. It is best to shop for groceries in Kahului before going to Hana, although there are two expensive small grocery outlets in town. There are many food trucks, so lots of options for take-out. Be aware that the 30 miles to Hana is a two-hour drive on a very narrow road with lots of twists and turns and one-way bridges. The scenery and views are beautiful. If you want a quiet getaway in a truly tropical environment, we truly recommend this property.

Traveler Beware

Home is located in the jungle so expect inspects, lizards, mosquitos, etc in the Home. Only one in wall AC unit works for the entire home (no central HVAC). The second unit in one of the two bedrooms had a note stating “do not use”. Host can not help directly and has to contact the actual homeowner to get anything addressed. Be cautious when looking into this listing and make sure you get in writing that your booking is approved for your # of guests when request to book is approved because owner stated we had one adult too many and charged us an additional amount for the two nights the week before our vacation. Would not recommend and hope you will look elsewhere on your road to Hana traveling.

Nice Getaway

Pros: perfect spot to make that "road to Hana" trip a bit less taxing. Also great change of pace from "busy" West Maui. We had a great time relaxing on the porch into the evening with gentle breezes and passing showers outside. Beds were comfortable, and beach equipment was handy for excursions. It's about 10 minutes north of Hana, so the Haleakala park is still 40 minutes south. The yard is awesome - cool trees, fresh limes, occasional critters. Cons: if you're skittish about bugs... well, you're basically in a jungle and the bugs don't care that it's a "house." Neither do the geckos, but we enjoyed hearing them (knowing they were tryin' to take care of the bugs for us!) You'll want to keep your food in the fridge. The LR has AC, and one BR has AC the other doesn't; but we managed to cool the whole place between the 2 AC units overnight so that sleeping was OK. The neighborhood definitely looks to be "local" so we were out of place as tourists - at one point we left one of our party behind when we went out via car, and soon after we left a pickup truck pulled into the drive. When they noticed a person still on the porch they backed out and left... a little creepy: could have been an honest mistake (not likely from a local!), or could have been someone checking us out? All in all I'd recommend (we really enjoyed it) but just be aware - this place might not work for picky wives (or husbands.)

The property was magical. We walked the grounds every day and picked star fruit, limes and avocados. Not all ready to eat, but we are staying on Maui for another week and will enjoy when ripe.

Wonderful stay. Immaculate little home with everything you need. It was a little warm trying to sleep but the fans helped and it did cool down late at night. We really loved our stay and would definitely recommend.

Property was as advertised. Location was great for Hana activities. The road to Hana is an adventure so it was nice to stay local. The house was nice and had what we needed. The house is in the jungle, so there are bugs and geckos. I would recommend this house to others

Enjoyed staying in Hana

Overall we had a great stay in Hana. It was so nice to be able to enjoy that side of the island without rushing to drive back. There were more than a few light bulbs out and a few geckos but would still recommend.
