Chimney Mill Cabin ligger i ett avskilt område vid det övre huvudet av Kings River, högt i de vackra bergen i Madison County. Vår stuga är omgiven av en lugn, lugn miljö som introducerar dig till ljudet av floden och naturens överflöd. Att sitta på den omhöljande verandan och njuta av den lugna lugnet i det naturliga vildmarksområdet - relativt orört av människan - ger en känsla av lugn och tillfredsställelse och gör att man inte vill lämna.

Chimney Mill Cabin är uppkallad efter det gamla kvarnbruket som en gång stod vid Kings River Falls. Stugan rymmer 10 gäster över natten i 2 king size-sängar, 1 queen size-säng, 1 futon säng, 1 queen bäddsoffa och 2 och 1/2 bad. Den har ett fullt utrustat kök, stort gårdsbord i matplatsen plats 12, andra bordsplatser 4, vedeldad spis, parabol satellit-service och omhöljande veranda (södra sidan är skärmad). Omlindad veranda har flera stolar och bord som gör att man kan sitta och njuta av vilda djur och lyssna på floden. Stugan ligger bara några meter från Kings River nära Buffalo National River Area och många välkända vandringsleder. Detta är den perfekta platsen för vandrare att njuta av de populära vandringslederna i detta område.

Tiden har förändrat många saker, men inte skönheten i Kings River-området. Floden tumlar fortfarande klart och rent över klipporna. Flera mindre vattenfall leder vägen till den största nedgången känd som 'Kings River Falls'. Den gamla gristkvarnen, känd som Chimney Mill, stod en gång där Kings River Falls ligger. Här kaskader vattnet över klipporna till en pool med klart blågrönt vatten. Detta är en idealisk plats för dig som älskar att vandra och se "vildmarkens skönhet." Great atmosphere! The view was amazing. The trails around the property were awesome and made for a good hike. The river was beautiful and we really enjoyed swimming under the waterfall!

Absolutely stunning

We absolutely loved our stay and will be back. The screened in porch was the perfect spot to cozy up with a blanket and read a book. We brought corn hole tables and played on the side porch with ease. The kids loved playing in the stream and making s'mores in the camp fire. We were prepared for no cell service at the cabin, enjoyed it, but be prepared for no cell service on the way out to the cabin as well. The beds were comfortable, the cabin was clean and spacious, you're able to use the washer and dryer and they have a charcoal grill available to use as well. There's nothing bad to say about this place, we were sad to leave.

Family reunion

The cabin was fantastic alone, but the location to Kings River Falls felt like a private natural location! Wildlife fantastic, dark starry night sky amazing and the property had historic landmarks left by original settlers!

Girls Trip

We loved the property! Loved the space, all accommodations and overall feel of the cabin!! The only thing that we'd have liked is a heads up on the very long red dirt and gravel road. It would have also been nice to be able to access WIFI so we could have planned our 2 day trips from the cabin after seeing the layout of the area.

Disconnect to connect

This property is one of my favorites because we got married here but also because there isn’t any cell signal or WiFi here. Being disconnected from technology helps to focus on being present and connecting with the people you’re with! I also love how close it is to hiking and water. This was our third trip and we will definitely be back!

Relaxing and fun

Beautiful views in every direction. Great hiking and swimming. No cell coverage or internet (a huge plus!). Daily sightings of musk rats, rabbits and deer. Choruses of birds and tapestries of clouds. The cabin is relaxing and roomy even for my family of 8. The dining room table is just the best.

Relaxing Getaway

My husband and I hadn’t taken a trip alone in a couple of years, so we were ready for a peaceful respite. Chimney Mill Cabin was in a remote area and perfect for a long weekend getaway. It was very clean and comfortable with lots of space. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and the bathrooms were stocked with plenty of towels. We really enjoyed exploring outdoors and hiking to King River Falls. The view and the waterfall were so beautiful. We drove to Huntsville a couple of times, which is about 30 minutes away, to dine out and fill up with gas. Granny’s Kitchen has the best Southwest omelet I have ever tasted. Our favorite place to be during our visit was relaxing on the porch having coffee while watching the deer grazing and the red squirrels scurrying about in the yard. The only complaint we have is that we didn’t book it for a longer stay. We definitely want to return in the Spring. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Peaceful and Secluded Getaway without Sacrificing Comfort

This place is my favorite to unwind and relax from the stresses of life. You can just feel the stress leave as you sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and listen to the sounds of the water. The wildlife love to put on a show as well!

Perfect peace and quiet

Although we were staying there to be near family in the area... this property all by itself a perfect remote getaway in the mountains. We only wish there were some kind of basic Internet/wifi because there is no cell service up there. Some could see lack of connection access a plus though. A landline phone is provided which does solve some of this.

We both grew up in this area. Both families' ancestors came to this area in the late 1800 and early 1900s. We retired from our job about 2 years ago. My husband retired from trucking and I from teaching. We finished building our cabin in October 2014. We wanted something to help supplement our retirement years and allow others to enjoy the beauty and quietness of the area.

Varför värden valde detta boende

My husband and I inherited this land from my step-mother and dad after their deaths. My step-mother lived on this place for 62 years--10 years as a widower. She and my dad lived here together for 22 years. This piece of land has a lot of historical ties to this part of the area. This area has long been visited by many who loved to hike and see the natural beauty of the wilderness area--relatively untouched by man.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Chimney Mill Cabin is located by the historical, old homestead known as the Squire Burton Williams Homeplace. Looking out from the wrap-around porch, you can see the old house and cemetery, which is the resting place for many who helped settle this rugged area of Madison County.

We have added several items to the cabin that makes it a unique and special place--the old Kings River Falls sign that used to be at the old parking lot (a head board for the bed upstairs), old gate from the garden spot (headboard in the green room), old barn wood (used for kitchen cabinets and island) from the old barn that once stood where the cabin is today, the old kitchen sink and white cabinet was my grandmother's and the fireplace mantle was a hewed log from the old barn. The porch swing also has special meaning--retirement gift from my coworkers, when I retired from teaching. As you can see, this cabin has a lot of unique features that makes it a special place for our family.
