Raven Cottage har en lounge med vedeldad spis för mysiga nätter i. Det finns en TV och en DVD-spelare välfylld med DVD-skivor för din njutning och bredbandet är tillräckligt snabbt för att fånga live-program på din surfplatta eller enhet. Köket / matsalen är modern med alla bekvämligheter, inklusive en diskmaskin och sex platser mycket bekvämt.
Det finns ett stort verktyg / kapprum med tvättmaskin och torktumlare och ytterligare inre garderob / butik för allt du aldrig vet var du ska sätta.

På markplan finns det två sovrum; ett dubbelrum och ett våningssäng rum med full storlek sängar delar badrum (badkar och overhead dusch).

På övervåningen, nås av en italiensk spiraltrappa i bok, är sovrummet med king size-säng och badrum med duschrum. Det finns också ett läs- och spelområde med bordsfotboll.

Utanför finns en stor helt sluten trädgård för barn att leka och utforska i säkerhet, och för alla att njuta av det magnifika bergslandskapet och det lokala vilda djurlivet (inklusive korpar, surrar, gyllene och havsörn och ibland utter). Allt nam Fitheach-strömmen markerar trädgårdens östliga gräns och kan avnjutas från den överhängande terrängen. Det finns ett skjul för att lagra cyklar etc. Glenbrittle Forest ligger tvärs över bäcken och erbjuder utmärkt promenader och cykling med magnifik utsikt över Cuillins.

Wonderful place to relax!

Everything about Raven Cottage was perfect for hiding away to celebrate our Anniversary. Far enough from the local village to be quiet and relaxing, but still a reasonable driving distance to get supplies or sightsee. Stephen has a lovely list of walking/hiking trails handy, if you want to be out in the countryside. The brook and the garden behind the cottage make a wonderful place to enjoy staying close to home, as it were. Communicating with Stephen was great. He always responded very quickly. He clearly wanted us to have an excellent visit.Kitchen is well equipped. Plenty of space for a family. Beautiful view of the night sky through the upstairs dormer window. We wish we could have stayed longer and will absolutely choose Raven Cottage again for our next trip to Skye!

Quiet tranquil place

Very quiet location but quite a distance from amenities. You definitely cannot walk to town for a few items. The yard was beautiful but we were not there long enough to really enjoy it.

Perfectly remote

Absolutely loved the setting and the cottage. Short drive to many wonderful sites and villages, but remote enough to give me the peace and quiet I was looking for.

Ein Ort zum Abschalten und voller Hilfsbereitschaft.

Wir haben uns bewußt für einen Schottlandurlaub im Winter entschieden. Ein Ort zum Abschalten und herunterkommen und ganz viel Natur fernab des Massentourismus, vor allem zu der Jahreszeit. Das Haus ist auch für uns 5-köpfige Familie recht geräumig und, einmal hochgeheizt, angenehm warm und gemütlich. Auch wenn es nicht das modernste Heim ist, so haben wir uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Wer einen Luxusplast sucht, ist hier falsch. Der fehlende Handyempfang und das doch sehr langsame Internet waren selbst für unsere Kinder kein Grund zum Maulen.Das Wetter ist kalt und mitunter raus gewesen, aber was anderes haben wir auch nicht erwartet. Umso mehr haben wir uns doch über die Momente gefreut, in denen der Himmel aufgezogen ist und die Sonne durchkam. Tagesausflüge zu den Fairy Pools, Old Man of Storr oder aber auch einfach in die nächste Bucht an den Strand waren einfach nur traumhaft und hatten bei jedem Wetter seinen ganz besonderen Reiz. Die nächste große Einkaufsmöglichkeit in Portree haben wir stets mit Ausflügen verbunden.Ein besonderes Erlebnis hatten wir am Ende unseres Aufenthalts, als wir unterwegs mit dem Auto liegen geblieben sind. Der Eigentümer von Raven Cottage hat uns einen sehr hilfsbereiten Nachbarn zu Hilfe geschickt, dank dessen Hilfe wir unseren Urlaub entspannt beenden konnten. Dafür gebührt unser innigster Dank und wir hatten die Chance auch noch etwas mehr von den Menschen kennenzulernen. Die Isle of Skye hat uns in ihren Bann gezogen.

Long Weekend Exploring Skye

Nice remote quaint cabin if that is what you are looking for. Beautiful drive into the cabin past the Cuillin mountains. Although remote close to small co-op in Carbost as well as nice restaurant options. Hiking available from the cabin. Just over an hour drive to Uig about 30 to Portree and less than an hour to Skye bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh( I was driving slower than most ( not familiar with roads or driving on the left). Close to Talisker and Fairy Pools. Nice windows upstairs for star gazing if you catch a clear sky. Improvements would be detailed cleaning of bathrooms and a little updating. The 6PM check in we received was a bit unusual also.

What a great place to stay for your visit to the magical land of Skye. We loved the location, just far enough off the beaten path but not too far once you learn the island. Absolutely recommend Raven Cottage and visiting the Isle of Skye!

Vacances dépaysantes

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le cottage et ses environs, la présence des moutons et des vaches, le Loch avec ses belles couleurs, les randonnées en forêt au départ du cottage. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour sur l'île de Skye. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'accueil des Écossais dans les différents endroits visités au cours de notre séjour. Peaceful cottage on Skye

Brilliant house for extended family holiday for 6... beautiful location next to creek & secluded bordering a forest. Great local walks & close to Carbost for groceries & coffee. House was well insulated & had great amenities. Happy to recommend

What an awesome place to spend a week immersed in the beauty of both the mountains and the sea. Both are right out the front door and calling for you to join them. What you will not see are people. Literally a great place to get away from it all!

Our Scotland tour

We stayed at Raven Cottage for four nights as we enjoyed the Isle of Skye during our three week trip through Scotland. The cottage was nice and clean however while we were there, Scotland was experiencing a heat wave and we had to open the windows. They were a bit spidery snd could have used a good cleaning. We were a little disappointed in the deck overlooking the water. The chairs provided were rusted and broken which didnt allow us to enjoy the outdoor space. We did love the kitchen snd laundry. It had everything we needed.

Wonderful

We were lucky to have a week to explore Skye and used Raven Cottage as our base. Despite being slightly remote, the cottage is only a short drive from the main road and central to nearly everything on the island. The cottage is sublimely peaceful. The cottage was very clean. The loft bedroom was spacious. Great kitchen and the utility room with washer & dryer was a great bonus. Our only complaint was the WiFi was agonizingly slow and sometimes unavailable. We'd love to see that improved. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this cottage.

Although only 10 minutes from Carbost, Raven Cottage and Eynort is a world away from rush of modern life. This is a real escape into the peace and quiet that most people can only dream of elsewhere in the UK.

Walking, biking, kayaking, eagle and general wildlife spotting, history going back over 1000 years, even some summer river swimming, all direct from the cottage. Peaceful even compared to the rest of Skye, but with excellent for those occasional rainy days.
