This is our third time staying in Madeira, we have rented three houses each time. This one was the only one we had issues with. First, there is a serious problem with the plumbing. Each time we flushed the water would run, water would back up into the shower. The air flow for the plumbing definitely wasn't done right. At one point we had a sewer smell on the lower-level bathroom and had to call for maintenance which they fixed. The outside of the property although beautifully landscaped, the tiles were disgusting and dirty. The wood decking was worn with screws loose. Patio chairs were frayed, and we didn't want to use them because they were about to break. The pool umbrella was not operational, and they never came to replace it. Pool light was out most of our trip we were trying to find the light switch by the time they repaired it, it was the last day. My son ripped his finger open in pool due to broken tiles. I was electrically shocked by the washing machine; they repaired that but then the washing machine left our clothes soaked after each wash. The stove top was impossible to work because it unknowingly locked. There were no instructions on how to use it. Very frustrating when you have a house full of people you want to feed. Everything in this house was DATED. Needs updates! Master baths were probably the only updated rooms. Dining room seats were terribly uncomfortable to sit on; it's made of wicker with no padded seats. Comfortable bed but will not stay here again.
