40th birthday trip

The cabin was exactly as described. The area was peaceful and beautiful, plenty of room for 5 adult women. Beds were comfy and the water pressure was awesome.

Beautiful spot!

I can’t wait to stay here again! We stayed for. Work trip and didn’t get the chance to fish but next time for sure!! Stay here if you want a prime fishing spot and a nice dog who likes to visit for back scratches lol

Awesome experience.

I was looking for a place to take my kiddos so they could learn to fish and spend some time away from everything. This was the perfect place to do just that. Mike and Denise are amazing hosts, and make sure you have everything you need. The location to the river couldn’t be better, the scenery is beautiful, and the memories will last a lifetime. We just got home, and my kids are already wanting to know when we can go back. Thank you, Mike and Denise for creating an amazing experience for our family!

Great Getaway Property

Very secluded right on the Muskegon River. Plenty to do on the property and around Newaygo. We never got bored. I would recommend this stay and we may be a repeat visitor.

Great cabin. Not too fancy, not rustic. Perfect spot for a weekend away for a music festival in the area. Plenty of space and ameneties provided. Friendly host and great value.

Best Host ever

We had a great time relaxing at the Lodge on the River. The Hosts were great and we cant say enough good things about them. Super helpful and friendly. The location was unbelievable. We all loved it. We will be visiting again soon I hope.

Romantic getaway

We were welcomed with a nice glowing fire and a candle burning. The view was outstanding. We did some fishing right off the dock and explored the town. We had a fantastic weekend the house is exactly as described. Loved it

Muskegon River

Staying at the lodge, the Muskegon River runs just outside. It is a million dollar view. I find it so relaxing sitting on the deck watching the river. During my stay there were a lot of sunny days that complimented the view. Mike and Denise live next door and were wonderful hosts. The North Country Trail runs near the property and this trail is great for hiking.

Mike grew up in Sparta Michigan, Denise grew up in Martin Michigan. We now live in Newaygo Michigan right next to our rental property. Mike owns Anderson's Silk Screening and Denise is an event coordinator for the chamber, she also is a lead singer in a band called 'The Denise Anderson Connection'. We both love all sorts of outdoor activities fishing, golfing, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking and drinking wine on the deck overlooking the river.

After living next to this property for the past 21 years, it became available for purchase and once you see it, you will understand how we could not pass it up!

Best fly fishing in the mid west The lodge is located right next door to the Pine Street boat launch for easy access to fishing on the Muskegon River. The location is perfect any time of the year with activities ranging from fishing, tubing, or just relaxing by a bon fire.
