Spent a lovely time in Bencorragh lodge September 2010. The house was exactly as described on the website and even better ! Well equipped with spices, start up supplies of toiletries, shampoos etc . Owners were most helpful and answered all our questions on arrival and gave us lots of useful information before coming. There were lots of interesting books, a decent dvd collection, and board games and also an air hockey table ! The owners tell me they are hoping to have broadband next year which although not essential, will be welcome for people who need to keep in touch. The house was an ideal base for touring to Cong, Westport, Galway, Clifden, and we even went to Sligo to see the tombs at Carrowmore. But if you never leave the area, Finney itself is very relaxing, and ideal for walking, hill walking and using the excellent bicycles (3) which are provided free of charge. We re- discovered our bike legs and cycled to Cong and Leenane. The local shop is only a 3 minute walk away for essentials and they have a lovely tea shop with amazing chocolate "turf" cake.
I have no hesitation recommending this lovely house and location, and hope to return soon .
