Loved the view and the proximity

Best view of the canyon as far as I am concerned. We had a snow storm while we were there and the house had everything to keep us warm and cozy. The trails were wonderful and the hot tub was a blessing after a 12 mile hike.

The view, cabin, and hosts were amazing. I will return and stay in the same cabin. Each day was wonderful and breath taking. Just what we needed to relax and refresh our mind and soul.

Beautiful views!

Peaceful evenings with beautiful views. The communication with the owners is very easy and they are quick to respond. Wonderful welcome gift of sparkling cider and champagne with two complimentary flutes was a pleasant surprise. Definitely worth staying here when you visit the area.

Serene Paradise

This house is fabulous, particularly the patio, porch and views. The house is comfortable and relaxing and is very private through its own secure gate. Constant cool breeze made even a warm afternoon pleasant and relaxing on the porch and it's about 5 mintues from the park entrance, so easy to go back and forth as needed. Wish I could have stayed longer!!

Amazing getaway

Staying in the Fortress cabin was such an amazing experience. Having a full kitchen was perfect for us. Overall it is an awesome place to be away and reconnect.

Amazing Palo Duro Stay

The view from the back patio is amazing, even better than pictures. The house was just as advertised. Hot tub has great after hiking. We loved seeing Mule Deer and Audad in neighborhood. Great memories.

Great stay!

It’s hard to put into words just how beautiful the views were from the back patio! Pictures of the sunrises, sunsets, and the canyon itself do not it justice. The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, well-furnished, and had great personal touches (including robes to use with the hot tub). We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will be back!

Relaxation Getaway

The Fortress at Dove’s Rest was absolutely amazing. The view from the cabin is breathtaking. We needed a quiet vacation to unwind with our 2 fur babies and this place was perfect. We had everything we needed as they thought of everything. I can’t thank them enough. We WILL be back!!!

Perfect Long Weekend

Property is lovely - great views. Plenty of firewood. Kitchen has lots of pots and pans - easy to cook here. And better still the concierge service made sure our groceries were in the house when we arrived. Good communication on directions and how to work the key pad for the house and the gate. We will be back!!

Great place to stay to visit Palo Duro

Fabulous views of the canyon from the “Fortress” house. Very well equipped and clean house. Memory foam beds were comfy and really appreciate the purified water and wood provided for the fireplace. So convenient to Palo Duro! We will be back! Only issue was not receiving the check in instructions until a few minutes before arrival.

Jeff Means is the founder and manager of Doves Rest Cabins. He’s an experienced business professional with a 30+ year career in the hospitality & tourism industry. He has overseen countless event executions and destination/resort marketing efforts. He has personally led groups to over 50-countries and worked closely with resorts and hotels to enhance the guests stay and overall experience. He has traveled to every continent except Antarctica, and almost every state/province in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. During his career he has been to many interesting places such as, the Sahara Desert, Amazon River, Great Barrier Reef, Moscow, Marrakesh, Transylvania, Kenai Peninsula, and the Alps from every country, plus most of the Caribbean Islands. Jeff’s sister lives in New Zealand who he visits occasionally. Interestingly, she has several successful vacation home rentals projects in New Zealand, Australia and Argentina!

Jeff is also an author and accomplished writer. His extensive travels have given him a unique view about the world and the cultures in which we live. His curiosity about world and human origins led him to write his debut novel, Entity of Origin. Jeff was born and raised in Northern California but has called Texas home since 1989.
