Amazing cabin for a weekend in the adirondacks. Quiet, secluded, and has everything you need. No service of course, it’s a wonderful place to unplug and enjoy nature. Beautiful deck overlooking a lake, and the host gives access for fishing/kayaking/etc. Bring some board games!! Would definitely stay here again

Beautiful

We arrived ahead of our scheduled check-in time. The cabin was ready for our arrival. Neat and clean. Everything we would need for our four day stay was accessible. The property is peaceful and quiet. Cochren's Cabins are not far from Saranac Lake. We biked, canoed, hiked and enjoyed the fall beauty. We look forward to booking again!

We had a fantastic stay at Cochran's Cabins. Marjorie was an incredibly friendly and flexible host. Her hospitality made everything easy from check-in to check-out. The cabin itself was tidy, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing escape. The property is quiet and serene, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.One of the highlights was having access to canoes and kayaks. They were such a fun way to enjoy the lake and take in the natural beauty. While the location is a bit off the beaten path, it’s still close enough to all the attractions in Lake Placid, which made day trips super convenient.We would absolutely recommend Cochran's Cabins and Marjorie to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with great amenities and a truly welcoming host.

Beautiful and Relaxing

We had a wonderful visit at Cochran’s Cabins. We stayed at Camp Marnie, and it was just enough for the two of us with our senior dog. The bed is comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for our showers/dish washing. We took walks and sat on the dock when we weren’t going other places for an event. If we’d stayed longer, we would have gone kayaking. The area is stunningly beautiful. The towns are quaint with delicious food and coffee, lots of art and community music, and the people very friendly. Marjorie is very communicative and fun to talk with. Thank you for making our trip relaxing and enjoyable.

Great spot for a quiet getaway to recharge. The lake was gorgeous and excellent for paddling. Close to town of Saranac Lake with dining, shops, etc. Would definitely come again.

Small and cozy cabin in a relaxing location

The cabin is small and cozy, perfect for one or two people. It was clean and I did not find myself wanting for the basic necessities. The location is quiet, aside from the forest critters, and I had no difficulty sleeping. The cabin itself is surrounded by forest, but it's also a short walk to the lakeside where the view of the lake is uninterrupted by trees. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent and can be used to traverse the network of lakes. As mentioned in the cabin's summery, the cabin itself does not have access to wi-fi and cell service was spotty. That didn't bother me much since I wanted a break from outside world, but I suppose I should mention that. The town of Saranac Lake is less than ten minutes away (by car) and numerous hiking trails are within easy reach. It's a good, central location for many of the Adirondacks' attractions. The host was friendly and available when I had questions. She was knowledgable about the surrounding area, which helped when I asked about local places to eat. Thank you, Marjorie! Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend!

Fantastic experience

I was at first concern the cabin would be a bit too small, but it turned out to be absolutely perfect. Since it has a terrace all around and BBQ facility it was " bigger" than expect. Great location, view of the lake, peaceful .. Nice sorrounding and Saranac lake town also pleasant with lots of thing to offer. I highly reccomend going there

Very cute, quiet property right on the lake, Owner was super nice. Only negative was no campfires were allowed and the heat and fridge didn’t work.

Cabin Camping, Seclusion, Beautiful

Marjorie has a great collection of cabins on Kiwassa Lake. Camp Marnie was perfect for a couple to share and use as a base camp for daily hiking, canoeing and fishing. The rustic cabin has its own deck with picnic table, and view down to the inlet passage to Kiwassa Lake. Short walk will get you to one dock or the other. Wifi access at the "Wifi Porch" let's you check in on the necessary things while keeping you away from tech and distractions while in your cabin.

Pleasant 2-night Stay

The location was beautiful and secluded, but the other cabins were closer than I expected. We were still happy with our stay. Close enough of a drive to town to grab supplies from the local Tops Market while still being away from the hustle and bustle. The sunset over Kiwassa lake was gorgeous, and there are good hiking locations a short drive away. Bring bug spray and water shoes!

Everything I expected, very nice place, quite, and no one bother you. Exactly what I wanted for my birthday and will definitely be going back. Definitely recommend for the less sociable.

Beautiful setting but some updates are needed.

Gracious hosts and a beautiful Adirondack setting are big pluses here! To make this a perfect getaway, though, we have several suggestions: please replace the Absolutely Worst Mattress in the world, and repair the docks below Cabin Marnie - they are unsafe and unsightly. Otherwise, we appreciated the hosts sharing their own dock and their canoe. Inclusion of lake loons was an extra plus ;)

Glad you enjoyed our unique lakefront location and bonus loon family!! We have had no complaints about this mattress and will look in to it!! During our 27 years, we have found mattresses to be very subjective....to one its too soft, to another, the very same mattress is too hard. To accommodate, we keep a mattress board upon request and or a foam mattress topper!!! Dock repairs--We are on the schedule!!!

Clean and very peaceful!

It was nice and clean and peaceful! We had alot of family functions going on, but the time we did spend there was very relaxing! The stairs were a little rough, but we managed. Even our dog Bailey loved it!, Thank you so much for the peaceful, relaxing experience!

Lovely!

Thank you for a wonderful little cottage in the woods. The cottage is small but had everything we needed and it was spotless! We enjoyed our boat ride and taking walks in the woods. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Perfect Quiet Getaway

We stayed in Marnie for five days and didn't want to leave! The cabin was exactly as described in the listing and very clean. Marjorie and her whole family were so wonderful and Lainey (the dog) kept us company everyday. The cabins are nestled amongst the trees offering privacy and peace and quiet. The cabins have a rustic feel with the convenience of bathrooms. Anyone that is use to the relaxing nature of the Adirondacks will really love and appreciate this place. We kayaked and fished everyday right off the docks on Kiwassa Lake and also went into Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid all short drives from Cochran's Cabins. We also visited the Wild Center and went on the Wild Walk. This was truly an awesome experience and would recommend it to everyone young and old!! So if you go, enjoy your stay and give Lainey a belly rub for us.
