The Fox Den is beautiful! So warm, welcoming and comfortable! The host are fabulous! Great view of the lake and easy access to the local towns. Highly recommend booking this location. We would definitely return!

The Fox Den is located in a very beautiful quiet wooded setting on a lake exactly as picture that is shown. It was very comfortable and very clean. Kitchen was fully equipped. There were short notes posted about common questions and owners were available for any concerns. I would book again whenever I am in the area.

The Fox Den is a sweet spot on a small, quiet lake. It’s a cozy place with everything you need or didn’t know you needed magically available. The drive to the house is on a long windy dirt road and you might feel like you’re lost but once you’ve done the drive it all makes sense. Would definitely go back!

Our second visit, definitely not the last. Such a cute, comfortable little dwelling, and the property is beautiful, quiet and looks like something from a fairy tale. The lake is clean and quiet, perfect for enjoying the kayaks. The Red Hook/Rhinebeck area is so scenic, especially in October, and there is an abundance of good restaurants and shops in both villages. Though only 2 hours from northern New Jersey, it's like a different world. Highly recommended.

Very lovely cozy well appointed studio....Lovely furnishing… Everything you need and more… Very thoughtfully, appointed and stocked… Beautiful outdoor terrorist, dining barbecue area overlooking a magnificent lawn, wildflowers, lake. All that you need to enjoy the lake… Lounge, chairs, Adirondack, chairs, canoes, paddle boats, hammock… Very, very thoughtful considerate friendly and efficient hosts. Highly recommended.

Fully equipped kitchen, warm as toasty with the gas fired fireplace. Bed was so comfortable, we had a great nights sleep! Everything was immaculate and very spacious. We loved the beautiful decorations and extra touches.

Everything about our stay was exemplary! Jeanne and Jim provided us with everything we needed and clear directions about the check in process, property, appliances, etc. The house was clean, the grounds were beautiful, and we had a wonderful stay. Would absolutely rent from them again!

Another perfect stay at this perfect studio: we have returned several times when visiting our Bard College kid, and know that we will be returning in the future, too. It's exceptionally comfortable, scenic, and thoughtfully laid-out. Highly recommended, as ever!

I loved my stay at Fox Den. It's a very well equipped, thoughtfully designed studio.The covered pergola is ideal for enjoying the lake view, grilling dinner, or counting the 20 plus kinds of birds that eat at the feeder or sing nearby.The lake is perfect for swimming; the kayaks and pedal boat are handy to use to explore the entire lake.Jean and Jim are terrific hosts, Privacy is never an issue, as the layout allows guests to feel like they are the sole residents at the lakefront. When I had questions they were handy to answer.The studio is at the end of a long, rustic road: it felt like Maine, but it's only 2 hours from NYC.

What a beautiful view inside and outside in a quiet lake view location. Beautiful decor and view to the lake with a fireplace to warm you as the decor warms your heart. The owners are wonderful and reservation process easy.

Short getaway

This rental is exactly like the pictures, and even better in real life! The views of the lake and the rolling green hill were just beautiful (even in the rain). The location was easy for us to pop into town or explore nearby areas. We would definitely come back again!

Beautiful lakeside getaway, cozy studio with cottage vibe, lovely quiet non-motorboat lake. Lots of good restaurants in Red Hook and Rhinebeck, roadside farm stands everywhere. Owners very nice, responsive but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

Lakeside Lounge

Wonderful hosts seemed to think of everything. All we did was relax: lakeside, patio, chaise lounges, country walking. Get your food supplies before arrival because there is no need to leave the cozy spot!
