A peaceful and relaxing stay

The property had everything we needed and Ron and Christine were extremely helpful hosts. We enjoyed a lovely week's stay in the comfort of Riverside Cottage.

Lovely cottage in Axmouth

Christine & Ron made us feel very welcome. Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly want. A beautiful lemon drizzle cake waiting for us on arrival. location was ideal for visiting lots of places close by. The weather was lovely all in all a great holiday.

Week stay

Lovely little village with 2 good eating pubs. Chris and Tom couldn't have been more helpful, lemon drizzle cake as a welcome was delicious. Weather was poor but didn't spoil the stay.

Overall a great place to stay

Beautiful little cottage with tasteful furnishings. There was a problem with the hot water on day 1 but the owners had it repaired very quickly after we reported it. Property is on a busy main road and at peak times you do hear the traffic, but that didn't spoil our time there and the scenery is delightful. Excellent bus service to Seaton, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Exeter, at time of writing. Large Tesco at nearby Seaton for self-catering.

Perfect for two

A lovely cottage attached to main house. Very well equipped, with everything you need. Quiet even though next to B road as traffic calming measures and house well soundproofed. Garden not attached but easy to access and nice to sit in in the evening sun . Village ideal, 2 pubs to choose from for food, on bus service, quiet river estuary on doorstep and within walking distance of sea at Seaton.

Angenehmer Aufenthalt

Mein Hund und ich haben den 1-wöchigen Aufenthalt in Axmouth bei Chris und Ron sehr genossen. Die Wohnung bietet alles, was zur Selbstversorgung benötigt wird. Chris und Ron sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Vielen Dank für die Organisation von der Nutzung der Hundewiese auf der Campsite und Bereitstellung des Parkplatzes gegenüber! Und natürlich auch für den tollen Tipp von Upper Lyme zu Fuß nach Lyme Regis zu gehen :-). Die Wohnung ist ideal, um entlang des SWCP die nahegelegene Jurassic Coast zu entdecken. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Liebe Grüße Karin & Lola

Comfort Cottage

Extremely handy for local places of interest. Cottage beautifully fitted out and very comfortable. Owners very pleasant and helpful. Useful to have a pub nearby. Good place for a quiet holiday break .

Idyllic

Had a wonderful week in this gorgeous little cottage in the delightful village of Axmouth. The owners, Ron and Christine, are lovely people and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely be returning next year, and we can't wait.

Great Place to Stay

Thank you Ron and Christine for this lovely comfy cottage and home baked Lemon Drizzle cake. Home from home. Great pubs either side. 20 minutes walk to beach, Axmouth harbour side very quiet and good for dogs. Highly recommended and look forward to visiting again.

I'm not going to tell you anything about this superbly equipped cottage. How can I preclude the opportunity to ever stay in it again? No. If you are allergic to Dragons, and Ghost's, then , feel free to sample it's delights. You know I'm a bad liar!

Dépaysement, calme, et bienveillance

Notre séjour s'est divinement bien passé. Ron et Christine sont des hôtes très prévenants, extrèmement sympathiques. Axmouth est un lieu paisible, très joli, idéalement placé pour découvrir le Devon.

Just got back from a three night stay and absolutely enjoyed every minute. Owners have thought of everything as far as stuff in the Cottage and information about the surrounding area. Cream Tea left by owners was a real treat !

Very relaxing holiday

We were a bit worried about the road in front of the house at first, but in the end it was no problem. At night the village is completely calm and quiet and during the day we were mostly gone anyway. The cottage itself has everything you need and is very clean. But the best thing about it are the very friendly owners. Ron and Christine greeted us with scones and tea and were very helpful in every possible way.

Great cottage in ideal location

Lovely cottage, ideal for two people wanting to explore the area or a nice relaxing break. It is a credit to Ron and Chris, the owners, who do everything they can to make your stay as perfect as possible. There are two pubs which both do food, one is literally next door. The picturesque River Axe is a very short stroll down the road, and Seaton is ideal for shops and nice walk on the sea front. Would recommend Riverside Cottage and we will definitely be making another visit.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

We had a great holiday. The cottage was very well equipped and the welcoming cream tea was a lovely touch. It is located in a pretty village, with two pubs which both serve very tasty food.

Riverside Cottage is a pretty, characterful addition to the adjacent Victoria House right in the heart of the pretty and picturesque village of Axmouth.
This ancient small village is adjacent to the Axe River and estuary and nestles in a steep wooded valley surrounded by rural unspoilt countryside. The famous South West Coast Path lies on the edge of the parish and offers spectacular views across Lyme Bay and the Undercliff. The village is fortunate to have two excellent public houses; The Ship and The Harbour, offering a selection of locally sourced produce and local beers. The Axe Estuary Wetlands is just across the river and is well managed as a wildlife reserve. A large number of birds congregate to feed on the mud flats and salt marshes and these can be viewed at close quarters from one of many hides strategically located along the reserve.
