A hidden gem

We have spent a lovely time at the villa Les Bougainvilliers. Didier has been a great host being always available in case of questions and very reactive. Marie-Ange took good care of us arranging for fresh fish (and even Langouste) and prepared delicious dishes. The villa is quiet remote and you need a car to access. Bt the quiet place is exactly what we were searching for, The view on the lagoon is stunning and we could not get enough of watching the changing colors of the water. The villa is very well equipped and we felt "like home" enjoying every minute.

A calm relaxing place

It was a lovely place to stay with a wonderful view on the sea and coin de mire. We enjoyed just sitting there watching the birds, the fishermen and the sunset, refreshing in the pool and reading. We easily came down after a stressful time. Marie the maid there even cooked tasty food, spicy but not hot and was a very nice person. If you do not know Mauritius:The beach there is tiny and the water shallow as it is in this area. It is better to wear swimming shoes, cause there are also sea cucumbers and plants. You have to take care for the tides to make a swim. One has to have a car to get around and should not be shocked by the gravelroad near public beach. To sum it up: it was just a wonderful time and we will miss the outside eating at all times, the calm and peaceful view, the food...we certainly would recommend the place. Thank you Didier for renting it.

Stunning views with amazing service!

During our 1 month vacation in Mauritius we stayed in 5-Star resorts and different rental homes. “Les Bougainvillers” was probably the best overall accommodation we’ve had. Apart from the stunning views and the amazing location directly at the beach (you basically have your own private beach), the extraordinary service of Marie the maid was our absolute highlight. She cooked all of our lunch and dinner meals and kept the house super clean. Traveling with an 11months old baby, this was an awesome service for us since we did not have to cook ourselves. We were able to try out fresh and tasty local dishes every day without having to go to a restaurant etc. While the house is a bit away from the main tourist centers, this was something we particularly liked. With a rental car it’s absolutely no problem to explore the surrounding area. We recommend this house 110%. Thanks Didier and many thanks again to Marie!

Un bulle merveilleuse

Nous avons passé 4 nuits dans ce havre de paix. La piscine, la plage juste derrière le portillon, les gens de service sont parfaits. Mais il faut y rester. L'accès est pénible, on dirait que google maps prend un malin plaisir à nous perdre dans le labyrinthe de Goodland. il y a des belles criques au alentour qu'il faut éviter tellement elles sont crades. Quel gâchis. Mais on a passé 4 jours à ne rien faire, émerveillés par cette vue sur la mer.

Gute Lage für einen ruhigen und entspannten Urlaub mit tollem Ausblick auf das Meer

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt von 2 Wochen sehr genossen, insbesondere dass wir draußen auf der Terrasse sitzen und den schönen Ausblick genießen konnten. Das Meer fängt quasi hinterm Gartenzaun an. Da wir schon sehr früh gelandet sind, durften wir schon ab 9.30 Uhr einchecken. Das hat alles ohne Probleme geklappt. Man sollte einen Mietwagen nehmen, um unabhängig zu sein. Man sollte auf jeden Fall auch Badeschuhe einpacken, aber das gilt ja grundsätzlich für Mauritius. Das Wasser dort vor Ort ist sehr seicht, also man muss schon recht weit rein laufen, aber wenn man einen Mietwagen hat, kann man zum Schwimmen an einen anderen Strand fahren. Wir haben uns morgens noch in einem Telekom Shop in Goodwill eine Telefonkarte gekauft, da man dann über Google Maps besser den Weg hin findet. Wir haben zwar eine Beschreibung bekommen, aber nach dem ungefähr 20. Kreisverkehr haben wir dann Überblick verloren.

Si le paradis existe on ne doit pas en être loin….

Que demander de plus : Repas sur terrasse vue sur le lagon, apéro sur deuxième terrasse vue sur le lagon, piscine vue sur le lagon, bref que du bonheur partagé en famille sans oublier la fée du logis et très bonne cuisinière Marie Ange qui porte particulièrement bien son nom. Ce fut une très belle rencontre.Seul bémol, un peu excentre de toute activité : voiture obligatoire

Superbe! 10 sur 10

Magnifique séjour dans cette maison merveilleusement située directement en bord de mer. Accès à une petite plage ombragée devant le jardin. On a le choix entre mer, à marée haute ou piscine. Durant 3 semaines nous avons mangé mauricien et profité des talents de cuisinière de Marie-Ange, une gentille dame, qui nous a régalé avec des produits locaux et ceci à des prix dérisoires. Bref mieux qu'à l'hôtel. J'y retournerai avec plaisir.

GRAND GAUBES

Description conforme à l'annonce, le ménage est fait chaque jour par Marie-Ange, un jardinier est là 3 fois par semaine, aucun souci pour garer son véhicule en sécurité. Il faut absolument un véhicule pour accéder au logement et aussi pour profiter des plages alentour, les marchés, magasins. C'est un lieu très très calme pour se reposer et profiter de la mer, piscine, le seul bruit est le chant des oiseaux, de la mer et le vent dans les filaos, nous retournerons dans cette location rapidement.

Excellent séjour

Location très calme au bord de l'océan (seuls quelques chiens aboient de temps en temps). Véhicule indispensable car endroit assez retiré. N'hésitez pas à profiter du service traiteur de Marie-Ange qui cuisine très bien à un tarif défiant toute concurrence !

Séjour de 3 mois en famille

Magnifique séjour de 3 mois dans la maison de Didier! Nous nous y sommes senti comme chez nous des notre arrivée! L’emplacement est parfait si vous cherchez du calme et une vue splendide! Les couchers de soleil sont plus beaux les uns que les autres! Vinod est aux petits soins pour entretenir les extérieurs plusieurs fois par semaine, et Marie Ange est une cuisinière hors pair, nous nous sommes régalés! Bref, pour nous, tout était parfait! Nous reviendrons, c’est certain! Vous pouvez y séjourner les yeux fermés!

We had an excellent stay at this property

What we really enjoyed: - The tranquility of the place. You have your own small oasis with your direct beach access you can walked into (it’s very shallow so very easy). It’s like on the pictures. We love that! - The owner (Didier) has been very helpful and easy to communicate with (he organized a rental car for us which was cheaper vs. doing it on our own, etc.) - The place is really “off-grid” which we liked a lot because you have your peace, not many tourists around - The house itself is cozy and nice. It’s older but very well equipped and everything worked - Marie-Ange (the housekeeper) was very friendly and a great cook. It was very nice to have someone coming in on a regular basis for cooking and cleaning. Really great service! Also there is a gardner who comes by regularly as well who is also so friendly. What is different/needs time to getting used to: - As said by other reviewers you will need a car. Without a car you cannot stay there. You have to drive around 3-4mins on an unpaved road before reaching the house. We were aware of that so that was no problem for us - The only annoying part of this place: some of the neighbors also have dogs and they are very sensitive to new visitors – so they like to bark a lot in the beginning. At night they bark at each other which can be annoying (especially because the place is very quiet) - Get used to lots of keys and locks on the property

The view!

Everything in the house worked well - kitchen appliances, hot water, washing machine, lights. Lots of dishes and cooking equipment available in the kitchen. The patio is the best part. Plenty of furniture to lay about and look at the ocean. The water is shallow for a good distance and the view/ocean keeps changing as the hours go by. As noted by another reviewer, you will want to stop at the shops to get groceries and extra toilet tissue. There are a lot of locks around the house, which is great for security, but make sure to find out which key goes to the patio, the gate, the pad lock on the fence, the front door and the back door. The car you bring has a space and can be secured by a sliding gate. The owner was good at communicating beforehand and while we were there. Get ready for lots and lots of roundabouts on the road!

Le paradis

La maison donne sur une vue incroyable sur l’océan indien, elle est grande et fonctionnelle. Les espaces extérieurs sont parfaitement aménagés pour profiter de la vue, du jardin et de la piscine. Une impression d’être seuls au monde… Nous avons adoré ! Et le grand plus, ce sont les plats concoctés par Marie-Ange, nous nous sommes régalés tous les jours, inutile d’aller au restaurant !

Dois-je vraiment vous le dire

J’hésite à vous dire la vérité car je crains qu’après cela il y ai trop de monde à vouloir y venir et que l’on ne trouve plus de disponibilité. Dois-je vous dire que l’endroit est calme, le paysage magnifique, la vue sur les îles au-delà du lagon splendide, le jardin merveilleusement entretenu par Vinnod, et la maison briquée tous les jours par Marie Ange. Mais Marie Ange ne fait pas que cela. Dois-je vous dire que c’est une cuisinière hors pair, qui s’occupe de faire les courses et de concocter des repas plus savoureux les uns que les autres avec des produits locaux. Tout est un régal. Profiter du jardin et des terrasses, des canapés, de dîner sous la varangue, se prélasser dans la piscine, dans la mer…et profiter du silence et des oiseaux. Didier est propriétaire d’un coin de paradis et à la gentillesse de nous laisser en profiter, avec sur place des personnes extraordinaires. Je ne vous en dirais pas plus car je veux garder cette adresse la plus secrète possible.

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour aux Bougainvilliers, au calme avec vue sur le lagon , tout simplement parfait ! Nous remercions notre hôte Didier qui a répondu à toutes nos demandes et veillé à notre satisfaction . Un grand merci à Marie-Ange pour sa gentillesse et ses talents de cuisinière ( nous nous sommes régalés !) et aussi au jardinier lui a attentif également à notre bien-être . Das Haus liegt sehr idyllisch etwa 1,5 -2 Stunden vom Flughafen Mahebourg entfernt. Es ist nicht ganz leicht zu finden, aber dank Didier´s Beschreibung haben wir es geschafft. Das Haus liegt direkt am Meer, das Wasser ist sehr flach. Man kann häufig Fischer beobachten, die mit ihren Booten oder mit Schnorchel unterwegs sind. Unsere beiden Kinder fanden den Strand sehr schön, da es eine Menge zu entdecken gab (abgestorbene Korallen, große Steine, Muscheln usw. ) Die Lage ist etwas ausserhalb des Ortes, dadurch aber sehr ruhig. Die Unterkunft hat einen grossen Garten mit Parkmöglichkeit für den Mietwagen (dieser ist nötig), Kokospalmen, blühenden Büschen und Pflanzen und einen kleinen Pool, der regelmäßig gereinigt wird. Es ist ein Traum auf der Terrasse zu Essen und dem Gezwitscher der Vögel zu lauschen. Es gibt viele Sitzmöglichkeiten und Liegen. Man kann sich toll im Garten entspannen, braucht allerdings Mückenschutz. Am besten vor Ort in einer Apotheke kaufen. Im Haus ist es dank Maria sehr ordentlich. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden. Maria kocht, wenn man es möchte. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt, sie kocht kreolisch mit viel Fisch. Selbst unsere Kinder fanden ihr Essen ein Genuss. Danke Maria. Wir können dieses Angebot jedem empfehlen, da es nicht so viele Restaurants im Ort gibt und es auch früh dunkel wird. Die Schlafzimmer sind geräumig, Betten super, Mückenschutz an fast allen Fenstern. Die Badezimmer sind sauber, genügend Handtücher sind vorhanden. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, sind sehr vielen netten Menschen begegnet, haben viel unternommen um Land und Leute kennenzulernen und können die Unterkunft jedem empfehlen, der dem Massentourismus aus dem Weg gehen möchte.
